Glad I found your channel. Sounds like my upbringing as well. I recall my 1st read of SOF magazine. "The Rhodesian Army", always interesting reads. Loved the talk, new subscriber.
This thing is called The Heart of the Hunter. If someone is intent, they send out 'vibes,' which the target can pick up on. This was something the medieval Japanese ninja knew; they ostensibly developed techniques to calm themselves so they would not signal their intention to kill. This is a very legitimate thing; anyone who scoffs is a fool. There a many stories from combat troops indicating this is a real phenomenon and it has saved many troop's lives.
I think it was Peter Capstick, in his hunting books, who mentioned that looking at the game could and would be sensed. So we've got multiple sources for this information.
Wish I could get a hold of some of those old SOF articles, they were before my time though! Do you remember a man named Bill Bagwell? They say he used to write for them.
I do. Never met him but we had some friends in common. James Keating always spoke highly of him. Big bowie guy - he designed some seriously effective weapons...Hell's Bells Bowies as I recall.
Yes sir! I never met him either but his work and writing have had a huge influence on me since I've gotten into bladesmithing; unfortunately he passed away in '21, but he was probably the best bowie maker to ever live.
This is by far some of the best advice I have ever heard. I see a Century Martial Arts free standing bag in the background. how do you like it and what version is it? I believe you would have the best opinion on that product. Great content as always
Mike Echanis is a freaking legend! RIP
I know it works for deer and bear hunting.

Very nice.
yes, @0:38 The "Competition" mind set Gabe
I started reading SOF in about '81/'82 in HS!! I remember Mike!!
We're close to the same age and when you wer calling us dirty minded so and so's i was indeed thinking about Soldier Of Fortune. 😂😅😅😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I learned this through bow hunting. If you project peace and calm while drawing, the animal will sense it.
The hands kill not the eyes. Experience and my mama tells me not to stare. I try to keep my eyes in motion.

Indeed we do. Echanis first for me, and then when I was friends with Jeff Cooper he suggested Capstick as a "Riotous fun read".
Absolutely true!
Gaze detection is very real...
Thank you for the nostalgia trip to more simpler times Gabriel. I really can’t argue against anything you say. Excellent video. Thank you.

I do like it as I can kick it hard and don't have to chase it. Not sure what version it is.
