      @@allantrujillo93 His overall backstage attitude and ego rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. After seeing his last two matches with with Kid Kash, in which Juventud basically went into business for himself (doing moves he was not supposed to, sandbagging, etc.) WWE actually released him after this match, and he's been back wrestling in Mexico ever since. I've heard rumors that he's recently retired, but who the hell knows?

    • @NoThatRyan
      @NoThatRyan ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @lukethomas6900 he's had brief stints in AEW and Kross Fire wrestling in the US as recently as 2022. Maybe do a little more research. Prior to that he wrestled pretty regularly in Mexico and in the Indies, ever since 2008.

      He had a very big ego, even his friends, Super Crazy and Psychosis, didn't want to be with him because he would get them in trouble. But we cannot deny that he had quality. In this fight he made moves are not allowed because he knew he will leave WWE. @@allantrujillo93

    For those who don't know, this match essentially got Juventud fired because he did a 450 Splash (which he uses quite often) even though the move had been banned by WWE at the time because of a facial injury that Paul London suffered in an earlier match between them when Juventud accidentally botched the move and landed on London's head. They released him that same night because of it and several other issues that came up in this match besides that

    • @KyokujiFGC

      @@cartercartercartercar Val Venis kinda spoke about this in an interview. He was heavyweight champion for CMLL before coming to WWE and said in lucha libre they usually do stuff on the spot without telling each other what they're doing because many don't trust the other wrestlers they have matches with. So that's why many of their stunts revolve around throwing their bodies around and kicks and punches instead of pulling a series of moves like we're used to in WWE. It's a great interview by IWS and he speaks a lot about his pre-WWE career which is very interesting.

  • @caramel7149
    @caramel7149 2 ปีที่แล้ว +74

    Hey guys it may look like and ordinary match, but Juventud was trying to throw it, so Kid Kash was giving him serious receipts. Look at all the kicks he gives him, he's not holding back. Also Juventud refused to sell a move earlier in the match, so Kid Kash countered out of one spot in response. It gets crazier, but watch the moves and compare them to how it typically goes.

    • @the_rc_bandit0
      @the_rc_bandit0 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      0:19 Juve injures his knee jumping in the ring. Watch that left knee very closely from there on. 1:47 Juve tells Kid Kash to attack that leg so he doesn’t have to pretend it’s not injured, 20 seconds later and Kash is attacking that knee. Kash doesn’t botch the suplex as he knows Juve is going to sell the fail with his visibly injured knee - you can see how Juve doesn’t wait for Kash to enter the jump motion and tries to suplex him right away. Doesn’t seem to be any ill intention. If anything, props to Juve for hiding it as well as he did and continuing his performance as a professional, and to Kid Kash for adapting. The recovery time required for Juve’s injury may have played a factor in to why he disappeared before his contract was up.
      Maybe not.

    Theres something to be said about this kind of quick, 5-7 minute 1 segment match, you really don't see many of these anymore
    I remember when I was a teenager thinking cruiserweights never got enough time, but after seeing nothing but 2+ segment matches on AEW for years now, I kinda wish this sort of short, snappy match like this would make a comeback.

    Juvie was a phenomenal talent. But as good as he is in the ring, he was terrible backstage. So much so that his own stable mates Psicosis and Super crazy wanted nothing to do with him; they feared that his bad attitude backstage would also get them in trouble. The guy has an ego and believes that he’s the Mexican version of The Rock.
    Moral of the story: you can have all the talent in the world, but stay humble, or else everything you worked for, can disappear in a blink of an eye.
