    Man, people gotta hate. You cleared up a lot of things for me, and opened up a lot of new licks, thank you. I loved the jump cuts, alternate licks, and explanations. Great job, thank you and stay safe.

      Yeah, I agree… Initially, as someone with a little over a year of formal instruction, I found the video to be spot on, but I can see where others might get a little lost. If constructive criticism were to be permitted, I found the fretboard diagram to be a little confusing at first - upside down and backwards was my first reaction. Some people are visual learners, while others can comprehend verbal instruction and put it into practice seamlessly. Less intuitive diagrams and visual application would benefit others… That isn’t being a hater, its being an instructor who can incorporate a wider learning audience. I’ve taught a myriad of subjects, from military to classroom based instruction. I’ve found it best to not discount those who learn from a different perspective. For them, its a frustration coupled with a sincere desire to learn, otherwise, they wouldn’t be in your class or watching a video. Just my 2 cents…

    This is an excellent video. For those who need verbalization of where to put your fingers, this video is educational because it encourages evolution from a mechanical way of thinking to an intuitive way of thinking based on intervals in a key. In this case, the key of A.

    • @BluesHeavy
      @BluesHeavy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@paulrhodesquinn the BB box is imbedded in either the major or minor pentatonic scale if you are using the minor pentatonic scale than your flatted 3rd is already included what you lack is the b5 which is what the blues scale adds. Mixolydian adds the flatted 7th to the major scale thus dominant.

    That D note is the 7th of the 5 chord isn't it? The flat 7th would be a Db, right? In other words in the key of A, the 5 chord is an E, and the 7th is a D note. Am I thinking of this wrong? (Or is this too insignificant to bother???)

    Iti is impossible to see sometimes whether you are bending10 11 or 12.due to the covering fingers... and also whether it is E, B or G sometimes. Also, when you describe the notes played, sometimes you only describe 2, rather than 3,,,, otherwise terrific.

    GUITAR TRICKS, is the BB box considered in another Key? If you're playing in key of A minor blues the BB box will be considered D major key?

    • @GuitarTricks
      @GuitarTricks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are playing in the key of Am blues, if you use the BB Box it will still be in the key of Am blues. The BB Box is not in another key. It is simply a specific scale pattern, played in a different spot on the neck from the regular “Pentatonic Minor Box” pattern that most guitarists learn. Hope this helps!

    Very confusing:
    It doesn't make sense to me that you would show the diagram with the
    "1st fret on the left "
    and then show the actual guitar fretboard with the "1st fret on the right" .
    Any chance you could edit the video and flip the diagram so that BOTH
    "1st frets are on the right" . Or maybe create a New Video with BOTH
    "1st frets on the right" . Thanks

    Please, could you get better at saying what frets and strings you're playing? It wasn't evident to me watching the licks what the heck you were playing. There was so many jump cuts, then you'd noodle around in a higher box to show you were playing other notes by bending. I had to keep rewinding over and over and over to figure out which 12th fret you were bending which time. If you find yourself saying, "You go-" then a noodle.... THAT'S where you need to say "You go x fret on y string. Like this", then do the noodle.

    I'm lost. You were good there for a minute, everything else is major, minor, chords, and this and that. Blah, blah, blah. I can't tell what this and that is, when you have multiple fingers over several strings. You obviously know what you're doing but, try to look at your tutorial from a beginner or intermediate guitar player's prospective. Moving on now.
