Yeah, I must've spent something like a thousand hours playing the PS2. I even took a PS2 slim to the desert with me when I was in the military and played RPGs on my down time.
Silent Hill 3 is honestly one of the greatest games ever made. the soundtrack is just incredible.
Yeah, the soundtrack is awesome. I've used bits of it on the channel in the past. I sometimes lessons to those Silent Hill and chill compilations you can find on TH-cam.

Selection and prices for some of these games are amazing, and that's in a bit higher priced store. I don't think I could leave without spending a few hundred $! Love it.
Yeah, PS2 prices at Super Potato are pretty reasonable, and you can find cheaper at Hard Off and especially Book Off, they always have a ton of cheap PS2 and PS3 games.

If I could read and understand Japanese, this would be one of the first systems I would buy games for. The prices for most games in Japan are cheaper than the US variants. That copy of the Zero/Alpha collection is really amazing and actually cheaper in the US somehow. That SF EX3 is at least $25-$30 in the US and isn't nearly as entertaining as the Z/A collection.

When I first came to Japan, and even years later, one of the things I did to practice reading and listening to Japanese was playing PS2 and PS1 RPGs. It was actually really helpful.
Love these videos. To be honest, prices were a bit more that I would have thought for PS2 games.
They're typically lower and Book Off and/or Hard Off, but the condition can be hit or miss sometimes.
Hope you will also show the PS3 section as well. Games should be getting cheap for it in Japan right now.
Yeah, especially if you go to Hard Off or Book Off, PS3 games are super cheap.
definitely gotta pick up gradius 3 and 4 (and hell, gradius 5 while i'm at it) on PS2! and funny story when I bought the JPS2 off of ebay a year or two ago it came with a handful of games including only the 2nd disc of ryu ga gotoku 2! so I haven't actually been able to start it yet lol. maybe one of these days I'll import it and try to play it that way, haha.
All of the Ryu ga Gotoku games can be picked up for about $3, so pick that one up anytime.

Japanese PS2 games are a hot scalpers market on ebay for international buyers. People take 3$ games and sell them for like 40$ all the time. Brutal AF
User Great video! Love to see some PlayStation! I am a collector of games for all PlayStation consols except for the PS1 for some reason. In this era of ps1, ps2 and some ps3 many top of the line games didn't get a European release so import is the key here.
Plenty of great Playstation 2 games to play for sure Jim. There's a reason its the best selling console in the world. 8^)

Gensou Suikoden V is by far a goldmine Jim trust me. Not is much talked about as Suikoden II but it is as good or in some unbiased instances better imo.

The Japanese name their gaming and anime stores such redundant english names. Book Off, Super Potato, Animate, GAMERS?! Who thought of those stupid names?!😂
You know what I'm gonna do?! I'm gonna open a gaming and anime store in the states, and name it the most boringly redundant and nonsensical Japanese name I can think of, and just add the word "SHIN" or "SAMA" to it (or maybe both?🤔). I'm gonna see how the Japanese like that. They're not the only ones who can name their stores after foreign nonsense. We americans can be just as doofy and wacky in our naming conventions.😄
The only thing I'm worried about is that I may haphazardly stumble onto success, even though I'm actually doing this largely to spite the Japanese. If my store is successful, I'll be stuck owning and operating a stupidly named business😅
