I was in Prague in July 2017. I stayed in the old town square next to Our Lady before Tyn. The square and the streets were packed. Prague is one of my favorite cities. I can't wait to go back!
Another fine video of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I had the privilege of taking a train from Budapest to Prague in September of 1985 while the country was still under communist rule. I was the only Western tourist amongst just a handful of east bloc tourists. I was about your age at the time and with full energy I walked those cobble stone streets all day long for a number of days. You brought back the memories of this most splendid of cities. Don't forget to enjoy a performance in the magnificent baroque Opera House in Prague with its red velvet and gilded gold balconies overlooking the stunning stage, well worth it.
It was nice? Before the revolution, the city was in a terrible state. Plaster falling off the buildings, dirtiness and wooden scaffolding supporting crumbling balconies so it doesn't fall onto someone's head.

I was in Prague in 2005. It is truly one of the most beautiful cities on earth. It has a magical quality to it. Almost like you are walking into another world. I hope to go back and see it again, along with visiting Budapest again as well. However, of all the places I have visited, Prague is definitely in the top 3

Wow! It is strange to see the streets of Prague so empty. I stayed near the Namesti Miru stop on the Metro in 2019 and found the neighborhood to be quite fun. It was 20 minutes walking from the center and far enough away to enjoy the locals. Prague is amazing!
As a Czech living in Prague I have to say this is one of the best vlogs about Prague I've ever watched! Really good work and such a clear speech! Btw I have a part-time job in that tower buidling next to the Old town square (Old town hall)...you can/could stop by! 😄
We were there in 2018 and enjoyed the city very much. In your video, you asked for suggestion of places. I would suggest Cesky Krumlov. We did a day trip but I strongly suggest for at least a night stay. Enjoy visiting places with you very much. Keep up the great work Jason.

We visited Prague in Sept 2003 and it remains one of my favorite places in Europe. Stayed close to the Old Town Square and spent many hours just relaxing there. You should have seen the city 3 months ago, it was truly empty! As a Prague resident, I have never really enjoyed going to the city centre but it was during that time when I realized how beautiful the city is when it is almost empty and without any tourists whatsoever :)
Tomas Oliva I imagine as a local, you do not miss all of the tourists......but tourism keeps your country alive as in the USA......all countries need tourism to survive. Hi Jason, Great video. I’m an American living in the Czech Republic, and I used to live close to Liberec (another great Czech destination) and took it for granted that I could travel to Prague relatively easily. I later moved to the east of the country, and no longer have the same opportunities to visit and truly miss Prague. But here in Moravia, I would recommend Brno, Mikulov, and the Lednice Valtice areal. Thanks for sharing this video.
I travelled to Prague in the summers of 2017, the most magical city in the world, I envy you for enjoying the quiet Prague.. you feel the vibe of the city a lot more like this.. will have to visit again.. I am not done yet
This is a great privilage to see Prague without tourists... Im native living in Prague and in my 34 years I have never seen anything like this. Totally different city.
I miss Prague and Czech Republic. I’ve been there over 14 times. Go to Kotna Hora and see the church with human bones and skulls. Also Karlovy Vary is a nice short trip from Prague.

To me, it's really sad to see Prague like this... I live in Prague my entire life and seeing it this empty for months is a little painful... but also quite charming at times... to just enjoy the monuments without hundreds of people around. It was nice for a while... but not really for months. I am glad you chose to visit Prague and liked it so much. It is really a city of towers so I do think there are couple of places that actually can top the view from the St. Nicholas Church, but it's really subjective so... Great video! I hope you visit Prague again some time soon.
Wow. Very nice video. Thank you Jason, it's like I'm also in Prague right now. During these times that it's hard to travel because of the corona virus, your videos did justice to us travelers who wants to travel but cannot do so. Thank you so much.
Love your videos Jason, brilliantly shot and you give just enough information to let the viewer take in the sites that you are showing. Brought back happy memories of time in Prague with my family 3 years ago. Your earlier Venice video gave me the idea and confidence to travel to Italy in August for the first time as a solo traveller, an amazing time to visit with a fraction of the tourists that usually visit for obvious reasons. Thanks and keeping doing what you are doing 👍🙂
Very nice video, Jason! I really liked it. :) Enjoy the city without the crowds as many Czechs have done during the summer. Unfortunately, it is all for a wrong reason and of course Prague is suffering now economically because of the lack of foreign tourists. Hopefully it will get better next year. Fingers crossed. As for some tips for other places and cities in the Czech Republic, everyone here is suggesting Český Krumlov, Karlovy Vary and Kutná Hora. Yes, they are worth visiting, but there are less-known cities that are equally beautiful, like Telč, Třeboň, Jindřichův Hradec, Tábor, Třebíč (especially the old Jewish Quarter), Znojmo, Mikulov, Olomouc, Kroměříž, even bigger cities like Brno and Ostrava (many industrial sites and mining museums), Hradec Králové (if you'd like to see a bit of Czech modern architecture - interwar, mostly). Also many natural attractions and parks, like České Švýcarsko (Bohemian Switzerland), Adršpašsko-Teplické skály, Český ráj, Moravský kras, the mountains (Krkonoše, Šumava, Beskydy, Jeseníky...) Whatever you choose, the weather should be nice at least for the next week, so enjoy! ;)

This is a great video of Prague. With very few people, you can really see its beauty. I've been there twice and it wasn't this empty both times. Let year in early August was so crowded. You got luck with the weather too. Went to all the attractions featured here and again you captured the most beautiful pictures. Prague is one of my favorite cities and looking forward to visiting again in the near future. With the current travel restrictions, I'm virtually traveling with you. All the best from Florida, USA
Huge fan 🤩 of your TH-cam videos Jason. Thanks for bringing the world 🌎 to us and keeping us connected during COVID pandemic. You are Great 👍. Keep them coming!!!
Thank you so much for letting us travel with you virtually Jason! I'm new... came searching for your Italy videos and went down the rabbit hole, lol. Czech is gorgeous! I had the pleasure of learning how to cook from a Slovakian women (she told me about the separation of C & S)... beautiful lady in love with her culture and I absolutely loved cooking (and eating) her food, lol. How are you able to travel so often?! I'm sooooo intrigued. I just got my passport this year and am looking for affordable (and open) travel (I'm American). Hoping to hop on something sooner than later. Willing to be safe but take the risk.
Regarding your question about the best view, there is one even 100 times more stunning and that's from the Petrin Tower - the "Eiffel tower" of Prague... You must definitely go there
The website of the awaited imam mahdi Nasser Mohammad Yamani The last caliph chosen by Allah in his land at the end of time Choose your language and read his data www.mahdialumma.com
It’s sooo different from what it was like when I visited in 2012. It was full of people on the Charles Bridge from 6AM till midnight....all umbrella holding tour guides...just too many tourists! I stayed at hotel U Prince right in the Old Town Square facing the Astronomical Clock. I remember hundreds gathering at the clock during the action hours...Covid has just ruined tourism!
Just want to mention that those uniforms which Castle gards have are light blue only in summer or warm weather. In winter they wear dark blue / almost black uniforms.
I’m glad you made it to Prague... such a beautiful city! I went in February 2005, and it was VERY cold. Most people didn’t speak English then, so I studied Czech for 3 months prior to my arrival. The palace was closed, but St Vitus cathedral was open. Looks like you are there at a perfect time!
We were there end of September 2 years ago. There were so many tourists that it was claustrophobic everywhere. It looked so different to your trip. The bridge was always thick with people.
this is so strange! prague is my favourite city in the world but the only thing that lets it down is the massive crowds! not that I can really complain about the crowds when I'm one of them! nice video subbed.
I was there 3 weeks ago, staying just round from Malostranske Namesti in the Augustine hotel -- what a wonderfully atmospheric city (especially with the trams). Thanks for showing me all the things I missed whilst I was golfing around the periphery of the city -- fantastic vlog!! Karlovy Vary (where I was last year) is worth a visit.
Just a tip from a czech : dont be scared next time and just get lost in the city, u can always use uber or walk back to your hotel but getting lost is i think the best way of traveling :)
This video brought back fond memories of when I visited in Prague for 5 nights back in August 2013 ❤️ Back in those normal times, you would have to literally squeeze past tourists on Charles Bridge and fight for a spot to watch the Astronomical Clock "show"... Regarding the best viewpoint in Prague, this is of course a matter of personal preference, but I really enjoyed the views from *Petřín Lookout Tower* at the top of *Petřín Hill* (the surrounding park is also very nice, and is close to the *Klementinum Library* , which is considered to be among the most beautiful ones in the World). And in terms of other cities worth exploring apart from Prague and Česky Krumlov, I have read that *Olomouc* and *Plzeň* (the birthplace of Pilsner beer) are also supposed to be beautiful and historic places to visit!
Comparing then and now, I was there a year ago in August, it was uncomfortable to walk with thousands of people and I could not enjoy the ambience of the city that you are now showing in this video.

Go anywhere you like, there is aways something that will surprise you in Czech republic. But my personal favourite is Lednice-Valtice cultural landscape close to Brno - these two small towns are next one another and the Lednice chateau is just ...you have to see it.
Nice video! I love the colours of Prague with all its red roofs. I hope Czechia opens soon its borders to be with my GF. This pandemic has been a tragic episode for a long-distance relationship.
Jason, super video! can you include if you are finding places closed up? famous cafes, museums, any attractions that caught you by surprise being closed for covid reasons. thank you!
Jason , have not watched the back log of all your blogs as I just discovered and subscribed to your channel about a month ago but of the ones I've watched this is the most beautiful!!! Made me wonder...where do you feel is the most beautiful place you've visited and what place do you have the most spiritual connection with? For me , Palm Springs , CA is the most beautiful place I've visited and New Orleans is the place I have the most special connection with. I love the people that live there and I love the vibe...thanks for showing us all the beautiful places you visit as it helps keep us sane during the pandemic...
More great views: * Get up to Vitkov (the museum there shows the incredibly interesting history of CR), the viewpoint is great * The dancing house has a little bar on the rooftop. for 100 CZK you can enter, or if you get a drink the entrance is free.
Amazing video! I think that you should visit Cesky Krumlov as well and maybe after Czech Republic a tour of Germany like Berlin, Hamburg or maybe Köln, Düsseldorf would be awesome
don't know if you are aware - it's the 400th anniversary of the battle of Bila Hora this year (extremely important event in Czech history) and there will be a reenactment this very weekend. if it fits with your plans I definitely suggest you go and see. I expect it won't be as crowded as usual thanks to the pandemic :) what else to visit in Czechia? well you could go to Plzen and try the best beer in the world right at the source. or Cesky Krumlov, or Ceske Budejovice or Kutna Hora or Karlovy Vary or you can hop across the border to Slovakia and see the incredible Tatra Mountains (with your 'base camp' in Poprad). or you can visit some of the fabulous Slovak castles - perhaps the most romantic in Europe being the Bojnice castle. little know gems that are certainly worth the visit or just go and see the medieval university city of Wroclav in Poland Prague is so centrally located that you are within striking distance from hundreds of wonderful of but little known places
Whe have dozens of beautiful castles too, Karlstejn, Hluboká nad Vltavou, Litomyšl, Pernstejn, Konopiště, Sychrov, Kost, Bouzov, Křivoklát, Červená Lhota etc.
I normally live 1/2 of the year in Prague and 1/2 of the year in Denver, Colorado, but it’s haven’t been back since COVID19. It’s crazy to see it so quiet. Especially Charles Bridge and Old Town Square 😳
You should check out this elevator in the Prague city hall i believe it is, the elevator doesn't stop it just keeps revolving and you gotta time getting off at the right moment
Jason, you have such good knowledge of each location you visit. Do you research the locations then write a script for what you will narrate in the video? However you do it, you are always smooth in your delivery and presentation of the location. Thanks for all your good work.
When you ask if there are better views, you literally show the arched seating area of a restaurant in the Lobkowitz section of Prague castle. The views from the balcony of the Lobkowitz museum and from the restaurant are stunning and give a view of the Charles Bridge which the view from the top of that church does not offer. Anyway, it's one of my favorite views of Prague.
I was there a week ago. Beautiful city. It wasn't supercrowded, but not empty.. There were still tourists (like me). Don't know how it normally is though.
Hey Jason, I d recommend KARLOVY VARY which is very popular spa where international movie festival takes place or Brno (where Im from) which is the 2nd biggest city and is gateaway to the south wine region - Palava with beatiful wimeyards, lakes, ponds...

You must definitely go there
Very nice video. Hope you can feature their foods too. Can't wait for next one Jason.
Hi, Prague is mesmerising city. I had been to Prague, while watching the video I remembered those days, awesome video that's great
You should visit Adrsprach NW of Prague, and Moravia (Valtice, Mikulov, Znojmo, and Lednice) because the grapes are ripe and it's wine season!
Find the Honest Guide guys. You should meet up. They will tell you the history and pitfalls.
:)
We can also tell him, that if he wants empty Prague, it's empty everyday. from 7am till 9am, when tourists sleep :)

Been to Prague 4 times in my life, magical alluring city with a thousand years of history, and of course the best beer anywhere in Europe.
As I was born in Prague I want to thank you for the beautifil presentation of my beloved city :-)
It’s sooo different from what it was like when I visited in 2012. It was full of people on the Charles Bridge from 6AM till midnight....all umbrella holding tour guides...just too many tourists! I stayed at hotel U Prince right in the Old Town Square facing the Astronomical Clock. I remember hundreds gathering at the clock during the action hours...Covid has just ruined tourism!
holy shit! your camera is brilliant! I love Prague
As always! Beautiful, breath taking videos. Thank you so much for your time to record these awesome places. 😘🙏🏻
Time is changing. Now almost everybody, cca 80 percents of people living in Prague, speak English.
We were there end of September 2 years ago. There were so many tourists that it was claustrophobic everywhere. It looked so different to your trip. The bridge was always thick with people.
Glad to see that you're in Czech Republic exploring their beautiful places out there..God bless always..
From the Philippines...
this is so strange!
prague is my favourite city in the world but the only thing that lets it down is the massive crowds!
not that I can really complain about the crowds when I'm one of them!
nice video
subbed.
Great capture of the atmosphere! :) I recommend Kutná Hora, Český Krumlov, Karlovy Vary, Olomouc, Brno, Znojmo 👍

You are my favorite. I'm happy to find a vloger from UK.
What a amazing and splendid videography thanks
You are lucky, Jason! Praha is so lovely! Such familiar wonderful places! Amazing Praha..
More great views:
* Get up to Vitkov (the museum there shows the incredibly interesting history of CR), the viewpoint is great
* The dancing house has a little bar on the rooftop. for 100 CZK you can enter, or if you get a drink the entrance is free.
I visited Prague 3 years ago. .it was a great experience. .I stay there 10 days. .amazing
Well done. Good introduction to the series
Awesome vlog again Jason...Great job....I love it. Stay safe always
Prague looks full of history and things to see and do. Can’t wait to travel there and make videos like this 👍
Amazing video! I think that you should visit Cesky Krumlov as well and maybe after Czech Republic a tour of Germany like Berlin, Hamburg or maybe Köln, Düsseldorf would be awesome
Nice video! You can visit Brno and Ostrava both are nice small towns good for an day or two.
Very good video 👍 We love Prague ❤️
don't know if you are aware - it's the 400th anniversary of the battle of Bila Hora this year (extremely important event in Czech history) and there will be a reenactment this very weekend. if it fits with your plans I definitely suggest you go and see. I expect it won't be as crowded as usual thanks to the pandemic :)
what else to visit in Czechia? well you could go to Plzen and try the best beer in the world right at the source. or Cesky Krumlov, or Ceske Budejovice or Kutna Hora or Karlovy Vary
or you can hop across the border to Slovakia and see the incredible Tatra Mountains (with your 'base camp' in Poprad). or you can visit some of the fabulous Slovak castles - perhaps the most romantic in Europe being the Bojnice castle. little know gems that are certainly worth the visit
or just go and see the medieval university city of Wroclav in Poland
Prague is so centrally located that you are within striking distance from hundreds of wonderful of but little known places
Beautiful palace nice view thanks
I missed Prague so much 😭
Very pretty! We supposed to visit Prague in August but we couldn't do it because of the pandemic.
I missed so much this great city!
I was there a week ago. Beautiful city. It wasn't supercrowded, but not empty.. There were still tourists (like me). Don't know how it normally is though.
I do hope while you're there you manage to get out of the touristy center and explore other areas (Karlin, Vinohrady, Vysehrad etc)
Such a gorgeous city and such a gorgeous video😍! Do not miss Cesky Krumlov, it's a splendid little town!
You should definitely visit the town of Český Krumlov.
Yes, Cesky Krumlov is amazin...is very small Prague :) Im czech and I live in Prague adn centrm witout turist is nice...maybe litle sad but nice :)
Hey Jason, I d recommend KARLOVY VARY which is very popular spa where international movie festival takes place or Brno (where Im from) which is the 2nd biggest city and is gateaway to the south wine region - Palava with beatiful wimeyards, lakes, ponds...
come to Brno and the South Moravia region... (Mikulov, Lednice, Valtice, Palava) = the region of vineyards, folk and rich traditions :)
