as a drummer i feel drown to be inspired and to learn from his style and the way he expresses his drumming passion it is a groovy way to learn and to study gifted drummers such as this drummer as an example this drummer has my attention and my respect for gifted musician
Definitely looks like water droplets.... They seem to come from the little cymbal above the snare. It looks hollow, perhaps it contains water to deaden the sound?
Hey man! Thanks for your comment. Totally agree, it was such an incrdible thing to be stood so close to such a master. I'm just annoyed my phone ran out of battery ! Check out my drum promo video on my channel and subscribe! Also check out my videos from a Tony Royster gig I went to!
Mark is incredible but i like Dave "Daddy" Chris better to talk about the same kind of style. I find Mark a bit too "mechanical" and less expressive than he could with such an amazing technique.
+Pedro Mestre Jazz he goes for a drum machine-like feel. On some tunes it works well, but on a groove like this I agree I'd much rather hear Chris Dave.
+Pedro Mestre Jazz what a great life we got ...an ability to get on TH-cam have enough time to look up shit we want to see and see incredible musicians and say one is more awesome than the other.
This is great, but you didn't film his fucking foot! His bass drum technique is insane and you didn't even film it. On to the next video I go to find out what he's doing.
I'm glad that he isn't Chris Dave (not that I don't like chris dave. He's really cool) otherwise there would be 2 drummers playing the excact same stuff. That is really boring.
Mark has such inspiring technique. It never gets old for me.
Amazong! Thanks
I saw them in LA at Largo, it was absolutely phenomenal. They gave two encores! Just a really great performance and concept.

Just one of the best drummers who ever lived
THANKS FOR POSTING THIS!!!
Thank you so much for this post. I've listened to this five times in a row and it just keeps getting more and more raw!
He is the future
Thank you
Man what a powerhouse performance! Such a vibrant delivery of each concept. Great vid as well man thanks!

Anyone notice Brad killin it on the other side?
Ridiculous right? He's such a BEAST!
I love this!
oh man. i bet that was an awesome show.
Yes indeed.
Feel like butter! so cool audience btw.
Its not water its shavings from his sticks! When you beast the drums like Guiliana, theres gonna be collateral.
This may be the best Guiliana video on youtube now...(?)
this guy is amazing... kinda reminds me of benny greb and jojo mayer at the same time! the greatest mixture of them both..
Bill Bruford of King Crimson. He's one of Mark's biggest endorsers.
You're very welcome! Enjoy!
See (and listen) you in Malta!
Oh yeah!
Nice! Mark G. is playing great.....in the moment and with great groove/frasing.....not "licks" of the day...... Mature!
You're welcome mate
anyone else notice this drummer is pretty good?
Great angle. Thanks for posting. I assume Mr. Bruford was in attendance?
@Josh Stadlen Thanks man
just rememberd it's billy joel... movin out.
tasty jam
what did you record this with? Sounds good.
IT'S MC LOVIN!!!!!!!
Definitely looks like water droplets.... They seem to come from the little cymbal above the snare. It looks hollow, perhaps it contains water to deaden the sound?
Is that water bouncing off the snare for audio or visual effect (both?)
Oh and you're welcome :)
haha look at all the debris coming off of the snare at 8:30ish!
You're welcome mate! Who is Mr Bruford?
at 8:12 he goes in reverse with his body, Les Twins style.

Man does anybody know what that stack is? The two splash looking cymbals?
at least it's vaguely familiar
where do i recognize the groove/chord progression from?? its some classic soul song thats been sampled a lot... gotta be.
It is not. Everything is composed and lively played by Mr. Brad Mehldau, unjustifiably left outside the frame.
What's bass drum pedal he use?
what is that snare?
na. whats the smaller one?? the max stax has the china on top.... whats the like 7'' things hes hitting??
Would anyone know the name of this tune?
Probably Gainsbourg but not really sure.
Sassyassed Sassafrass, the tune with 10 's' in the title :)
What's his right foot technique????
heel up
total wackiness
Rad
Sabian Max Stax 10" mate
Anyone know what that stack be?
Sabian Max Stax.. Probably 10"
LOL
yes.... thats what im doing - _ -
Why
His articulation is just ridiculous!
he's no Lars Ulrich

+Mark ODay totally agree with you Mark!
Chris is amazing but he is not Mark.
you gotta be fucking kidding me...
This is great, but you didn't film his fucking foot! His bass drum technique is insane and you didn't even film it. On to the next video I go to find out what he's doing.
actuallly, not really at all. maybe its just a generic groove i'm mistaking for some classic???? i give up.
you're not Chris Dave.
bro.. i am chris dave
why is that a bad thing?
I'm glad that he isn't Chris Dave (not that I don't like chris dave. He's really cool) otherwise there would be 2 drummers playing the excact same stuff. That is really boring.
