If someone with a muscle condition was told they couldn't do it, they were out of luck. This packs a few great coaster and launch thrills but is still less physically intense than the previous. It's great for a potterhead and thrill seeker who was told they couldn't handle FJ. It's very accessible.

So maybe you should actually ride a ride before judging it because your statement was very wrong because there is coaster and 3D stimulation.
This was the best ride ever! I absolutely hate roller coasters, but this easily makes my favorite ride. It is very dark, but the drops are small. I also love how almost all Universal rides are 3D!!

Reece... yeah its gotta drop... but its sucha small drop. you don't get that drop feeling in yer stomach when ya drop on this ride. the drop is barely a drop at all. jus like 6 feet id say... it jus looks bigger cause of the dark. the drop Is small. but the dark gives it the illusion of being bigger...
The simulator front screen projection rides are far too overused at Universal IMO. Spiderman, Transformers, this, even Simpsons are all pretty much the same ride. They could use more dark rides with minatures and forced perspective like E.T.
If you watched this you got a huge spoiler I avoided watching anything until I rode this ride. just the feeling of excitement is better the ride itself. I give it 8 out of 10 but maybe cause I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. The scale of the ride is amazing but I have to give the edge to the forbidden journey
I like this one over Forbidden Journey. Perhaps because this one mimics an actual scene from the movie whereas FJ is more like Harry and the gang just taking you on a joy ride. Just my opinion. Universal did a great job with both.
I have watched every POV ever before going on the ride, as I cannot wait to see what happens. For this one, I told myself not to, and 4 years later, I was amazed. Worth the wait

I have to say that one of the coolest things about this is we finally get Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort with John Williams' Voldemort music on the soundtrack! Always bummed me out that they never used it in the later movies.

funny thing was I was there when this video was taken me and my mom played the game of pick out my scream we both figured out which one it was as soon as the first drop started
My wife and I went to Universal last Wednesday, took the train from Islands of Adventure to Diagon Alley as soon as it opened (before the park opening time of 9:00). The back of the line into Diagon Alley extended out past the MIB line and the wait time at that point was three hours. Once we got into Diagon Alley and into the Escape From Gringotts line, the ride broke down at least 4 times, increasing our total wait time to 5 hours. Then once we finally got on the ride, we got stuck on it and there was plenty of screen tearing and animation/sound sync issues. Overall not a good experience.
I was on this ride in Orlando just a few days ago and it had to be stopped half way through. My group was stuck on the ride for about 15 minutes, although it was cool to admire the foam rock cavern I suppose.
I rode this ride with my friends last night. I enjoyed it! My friend next to me kept saying "nah chill" like he was afraid before the ride made those twists and turns, before the villains attacked us, and before that drop in the beginning. After the ride finished, he said "Guys, I think I just shit my pants" to me and my other friends at loud. The ride wasn't THAT intense XD
Thanks so much for this. I went during opening day about half an hour after the park opened and I was in like 30 minutes with no movement just to get in Diagon Alley. I went again yesterday (thank you annual pass c:) and the line was 2 and a half hours. I was planning on waiting it but then it closed 2 hours to park closing. Diagon Alley itself was really cool though.

but i personally liked the forbidden journey ride better, it actually moved all over the place and even had you lying on your back instead of just the spinning that this ride does. the first drop in this ride really scared me lol it makes it seem like a huge drop bc you're tilting for a few seconds
Are there any hard drops in this ride? I can take mediocre rollercoasters but not the more intense ones. From the comments I heard that this ride is less intense than the Forbidden Journey one? If that's true then I should be good for this ride, because I love FJ.
I was in universal this past weekend and I went on this three times in one day and loved it so much more than Forbidden Journey. This one is much more tolerable for me (because I hate big rollercoaster ma)
this was really fun and had more of a storyline than FJ but it felt too fast and didn't really do justice to the true movie scene. but i like how it included bill weasley and the awesome scene of bellatrix and voldemort fighting the dragon, and bellatrix and voldemort moving the ride car with their spells

I wish I lived in Orlando (although they are building it where I live but it won't be as good). The Harry Potter world is the best place I have ever gone I spent a lot of money but it was all worth it. I totally recommend going. This and the forbidden journey were the best rides in my opinion. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan but I have to say that this ride is a waste of time. We waited an hour in the queue to ride this, when it broke down (we were just inside of the Gringotts bank, somewhere halfway through the queue), after being informed it will be another 45 minutes till they figure out what's wrong we gave up. When we tried to ride it later on the day lovely Universal staff told us single riders line is only around 35mins. After 60 minutes in single riders line this broke once again... Finally we boarded this super headliner at Universal. The whole ride took 5 minutes. Yes effects are quite good, but the whole concept is just copied from Transformers and Spiderman rides which are far better. Once again as a huge Harry Potter fan I have been very very disappointed. I think that Forbidden Journey is far more superior! Do not use single riders line, you'll miss all the preshows and will suffer heavily if the ride (because it will and always does) break down!

I have not been on this ride yet, but i am a constant visitor to Universal Orlando and i know when they run rides constantly as the Harry Potter world part of the park is\ running at all times and always full. trust me i am guessing you went recently and even though it opened in Summer this ride is still going to be an 1-2 hour wait single or in a group.(the rides are always breaking down especially when they are new., the Harry Potter rides are for me the ride that will break down when there is an hour and a half+ wait regular ) and about 25% of the time the workers can be wrong about waits (i had a worker who told me that a single rider wait for i think hulk was 25 minutes i waited just under an hour) Also i THINK that the ride is more like a mummy/spider-man mix, because it seems that especially at 0:31 there is actually a track (like a roller coaster not a chain pull idk if thats what you call it though), but there are no animatronics like the dragon in forbidden journey(cant spell) as far as i can tell. the only time i could even guess when you can go on the ride for a reasonable wait for me is late January, March, April May, September, i think are the best times even though they may be inconvenient, (which is why it is the best time). idk if this helps but i hope, if i am wrong, i have no problem if you tell me, (just nicely please not rudely)
Maegan Osmond Hi, I know you're right, I have experienced the same when Forbidden Journey opened three years ago, I went the same year in September and didn't wait that long, but the ride kept breaking. It is better now, it operates quite efficiently and I know that it's the case with ALL the new rides... It's just a shame, that long wait, breaking down will affect the actual experience from the ride. They should definitely though manage the single queue a bit better, they were rubbish there.. Yes the ride is a roller coaster/3D movie type, it's quite good, but not enough roller coaster.. It is done quite well when it works properly :) I still prefer the Forbidden Journey for some reason, however next time I'll go to Orlando I'll definitely give The Escape from Gringotts another go! This time with the preshows! I'm jealous you can go to Orlando all the time, I wish! Living in UK does not allow me to visit every year :( Good luck when you go on this next time, try first thing in the morning, you'll have the best luck!
Štefan Varga yeah i live in FL and have annual tickets so i have a bit of an advantage. and i agree that they need to work the single riders better in some rides. and the Harry potter rides ALWAYS break even after they open i got stuck in front of the spiders *shiver* once. i hope soon they can fix the bugs before i go on my next visit. i know form experience that whenever you want to go to a new ride you want to come at least 15 minutes earlier to get in the park. when i wanted to go on Transformers i when it first opened i got to go on 3 times with 15 wait for all three times combined so i think that defiantly helps if you want to go on a new ride. and i bet it does work awesomely when it is working properly. i think the forbidden journey is cooler with the animatronics cause i think that was fun with the dragon, and the dementor and so on i hope you will have better luck next time to! :)
Maegan Osmond You're so lucky! I'd move to FL in a heartbeat! If you would be touring the parks like I do I'm generally at the door an hour before the park opens... that way you're one of the first ones to ride everything. The only thing is you have to be surrounded by people who don't mind moving their butt and walk fast... otherwise you'll find yourself in the middle of a 60min queue to the Simpsons... Transformers were very cool, I'm not a fan but the ride is spectacular, and so is a Spiderman... my other favs in Universal are The Revenge of Mummy and Jurrasic Park River Adventure, they're so cool! I hope next time i'll be round in FL I'll manage to ride Gringotts few times... it's a lot to take! And you enjoy your experience hope you'll be there riding in the Gringotts soon :) And double jel that you have annual tickets :)
Even though you've already tried, I definitely suggest doing single riders. Don't go on a busy day, the wait in line for single riders for me on a weekday was about 1-2 minutes. 5 at the most.
I'm actually moving to dallas lol. I respect the mavs organization a lot too especially rick carlisle and dirk nowitzki who's following in the foot steps of tim duncan (sticking with same team and not worrying about money).
I respect LeBron because of his team-oriented style of play. He did leave the cavs but that's because he had no help whatsoever. His decisions aren't perfect but you can't deny that he will go down as one of the greatest of all time.
It's really a super coaster! I was there for opening day! Unfortunately, I also queued 3 hours for the ride, only for it to break down halfway through.... :( we were on there at least an hour before we could get off...!
I've been a Harry Potter fan as long as I can remember. I remember when I was a kid and Ran around pretendent to play quidditch and doing Field with my dad and When I watch these videos I just feel so jealous cause I live in Sweden and we don't have this Type of stuff and I rarely travel cause then me and my dad would have to bring my "pain in the ass" brothers. I went to USA when I was 4 but then The Wizarding World didn't exist and I'm going to USA now again at 14 and I'm going to Florida but to Tampa, not Orlando (but my father is known to always have surprises but I don't think we're going to Orlando cause we're going to Bush Garden). But! In 4 years I'm going to USA again and hopefully I'm going to Orlando. I don't know but he might have picked us going to Tampa just because it's very close to Orlando and we're going there after but I don't know. This is probably one of the more roller coasterish ride of the rides that are have a screen/are 3D (you wear 3D glasses). There is one part where it tilts you down quite at kind of a steep angle all of a sudden and keeps you there for a few seconds before you eventually go down the track (0:29). There is also another part where it looks like you are going straight down the waterfall bc of the screens (you are just going down at an angle). I am not a huge roller coaster fan myself and am kind of scared of them but it was not really that bad in terms of being like a roller coaster.
Hi Kylele... What was your opinion of the Revenge Of The Mummy Ride? I am wondering what they can do that is new. If you suddenly had a billion to build any kind of park and ride, It is hard to make something you haven't seen before other than swapping out the animatronic dummies and doing some kind of roller coaster.

Dang I love this ride the first time I went on it the drop was deeper than I expect it I was Screaming but this is my second favorite ride at Universal
When I waited it was about 2 hrs 30 min but I loved it and so did my family! Wonderful, and Diagon Alley was such a fun place to explore (: Highly recommend a visit if you're a HP fan.
I live in California where they are currently building the HARRY potter world. For vacation I went here and rode all the rides. Everything there was sooo amazing I spent a bunch of money but it was worth it. My favorite ride was the forbidden journey, (which I rode 6 times) but this was my second favorite. People go to universal S and Disney for theming, for rides which you can't find with the other amusement parks--I don't say theme parks because cedar parks, Six Flags, and the those owned by Seaworld have so little theme. Naming coasters after comics or animals and doing nothing else isn't theme. If you want big thrills, you keep going past Orlando to Tampa for Busch gardens.Gringott's is a fine ride. If it's too tame, you're at the wrong park.
You Got To make More Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts Videos some in Great Quality and some in Great Quality with Dragons, Queues, Preshows, Elevators, Loadings, On Rides and Off Rides.
AkameGaKiII The drop is TINY. My son and I are both coaster wimps but it didn't bother us at all. The length of the drop may be 30 feet of track, but I'd say the drop itself is MAYBE 15 feet. Overall I thought the ride was just ok...much preferred forbidden journey, which is amazing.

but i personally liked the forbidden journey ride better, it actually moved all over the place and even had you lying on your back instead of just the spinning that this ride does. the first drop in this ride really scared me lol it makes it seem like a huge drop bc you're tilting for a few seconds
Are there any hard drops in this ride? I can take mediocre rollercoasters but not the more intense ones. From the comments I heard that this ride is less intense than the Forbidden Journey one? If that's true then I should be good for this ride, because I love FJ.
No, you get hang time, but the drops are very tame
i went on this ride twice and on both times my 3D goggles fell off my face. But i caught them so it was ok.
I was in universal this past weekend and I went on this three times in one day and loved it so much more than Forbidden Journey. This one is much more tolerable for me (because I hate big rollercoaster ma)

this was really fun and had more of a storyline than FJ but it felt too fast and didn't really do justice to the true movie scene. but i like how it included bill weasley and the awesome scene of bellatrix and voldemort fighting the dragon, and bellatrix and voldemort moving the ride car with their spells

I wish I lived in Orlando (although they are building it where I live but it won't be as good). The Harry Potter world is the best place I have ever gone I spent a lot of money but it was all worth it. I totally recommend going. This and the forbidden journey were the best rides in my opinion. BEST PLACE EVER!!! 😍😍😍😍

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan but I have to say that this ride is a waste of time. We waited an hour in the queue to ride this, when it broke down (we were just inside of the Gringotts bank, somewhere halfway through the queue), after being informed it will be another 45 minutes till they figure out what's wrong we gave up. When we tried to ride it later on the day lovely Universal staff told us single riders line is only around 35mins. After 60 minutes in single riders line this broke once again... Finally we boarded this super headliner at Universal. The whole ride took 5 minutes. Yes effects are quite good, but the whole concept is just copied from Transformers and Spiderman rides which are far better. Once again as a huge Harry Potter fan I have been very very disappointed. I think that Forbidden Journey is far more superior! Do not use single riders line, you'll miss all the preshows and will suffer heavily if the ride (because it will and always does) break down!

I have not been on this ride yet, but i am a constant visitor to Universal Orlando and i know when they run rides constantly as the Harry Potter world part of the park is\ running at all times and always full. trust me i am guessing you went recently and even though it opened in Summer this ride is still going to be an 1-2 hour wait single or in a group.(the rides are always breaking down especially when they are new., the Harry Potter rides are for me the ride that will break down when there is an hour and a half+ wait regular ) and about 25% of the time the workers can be wrong about waits (i had a worker who told me that a single rider wait for i think hulk was 25 minutes i waited just under an hour)
Also i THINK that the ride is more like a mummy/spider-man mix, because it seems that especially at 0:31 there is actually a track (like a roller coaster not a chain pull idk if thats what you call it though), but there are no animatronics like the dragon in forbidden journey(cant spell) as far as i can tell.
the only time i could even guess when you can go on the ride for a reasonable wait for me is late January, March, April May, September, i think are the best times even though they may be inconvenient, (which is why it is the best time).

Maegan Osmond Hi, I know you're right, I have experienced the same when Forbidden Journey opened three years ago, I went the same year in September and didn't wait that long, but the ride kept breaking. It is better now, it operates quite efficiently and I know that it's the case with ALL the new rides... It's just a shame, that long wait, breaking down will affect the actual experience from the ride. They should definitely though manage the single queue a bit better, they were rubbish there.. Yes the ride is a roller coaster/3D movie type, it's quite good, but not enough roller coaster.. It is done quite well when it works properly :) I still prefer the Forbidden Journey for some reason, however next time I'll go to Orlando I'll definitely give The Escape from Gringotts another go! This time with the preshows! I'm jealous you can go to Orlando all the time, I wish! Living in UK does not allow me to visit every year :( Good luck when you go on this next time, try first thing in the morning, you'll have the best luck!

yeah i live in FL and have annual tickets so i have a bit of an advantage. and i agree that they need to work the single riders better in some rides. and the Harry potter rides ALWAYS break even after they open i got stuck in front of the spiders *shiver* once. i hope soon they can fix the bugs before i go on my next visit. i know form experience that whenever you want to go to a new ride you want to come at least 15 minutes earlier to get in the park. when i wanted to go on Transformers i when it first opened i got to go on 3 times with 15 wait for all three times combined so i think that defiantly helps if you want to go on a new ride. and i bet it does work awesomely when it is working properly. i think the forbidden journey is cooler with the animatronics cause i think that was fun with the dragon, and the dementor and so on

Maegan Osmond You're so lucky! I'd move to FL in a heartbeat! If you would be touring the parks like I do I'm generally at the door an hour before the park opens... that way you're one of the first ones to ride everything. The only thing is you have to be surrounded by people who don't mind moving their butt and walk fast... otherwise you'll find yourself in the middle of a 60min queue to the Simpsons... Transformers were very cool, I'm not a fan but the ride is spectacular, and so is a Spiderman... my other favs in Universal are The Revenge of Mummy and Jurrasic Park River Adventure, they're so cool! I hope next time i'll be round in FL I'll manage to ride Gringotts few times... it's a lot to take! And you enjoy your experience hope you'll be there riding in the Gringotts soon :) And double jel that you have annual tickets :)
Even though you've already tried, I definitely suggest doing single riders. Don't go on a busy day, the wait in line for single riders for me on a weekday was about 1-2 minutes. 5 at the most.

I'm actually moving to dallas lol. I respect the mavs organization a lot too especially rick carlisle and dirk nowitzki who's following in the foot steps of tim duncan (sticking with same team and not worrying about money).
I respect LeBron because of his team-oriented style of play. He did leave the cavs but that's because he had no help whatsoever. His decisions aren't perfect but you can't deny that he will go down as one of the greatest of all time.

It's really a super coaster! I was there for opening day! Unfortunately, I also queued 3 hours for the ride, only for it to break down halfway through.... :( we were on there at least an hour before we could get off...!

I've been a Harry Potter fan as long as I can remember. I remember when I was a kid and Ran around pretendent to play quidditch and doing Field with my dad and When I watch these videos I just feel so jealous cause I live in Sweden and we don't have this Type of stuff and I rarely travel cause then me and my dad would have to bring my "pain in the ass" brothers. I went to USA when I was 4 but then The Wizarding World didn't exist and I'm going to USA now again at 14 and I'm going to Florida but to Tampa, not Orlando (but my father is known to always have surprises but I don't think we're going to Orlando cause we're going to Bush Garden). But! In 4 years I'm going to USA again and hopefully I'm going to Orlando. I don't know but he might have picked us going to Tampa just because it's very close to Orlando and we're going there after but I don't know. I don't even know why I'm telling the World this in the comments of a TH-cam video! Just can you guys please hope for me to go to Orlando! I would appreciate it.
so im really scare of roller coasters and alot of comments say its a mix of 3d and coaster. can someone explain to me exactly how the ride is? does it actualllly moveeee down a track or what
This is probably one of the more roller coasterish ride of the rides that are have a screen/are 3D (you wear 3D glasses). There is one part where it tilts you down quite at kind of a steep angle all of a sudden and keeps you there for a few seconds before you eventually go down the track (0:29). There is also another part where it looks like you are going straight down the waterfall bc of the screens (you are just going down at an angle). I am not a huge roller coaster fan myself and am kind of scared of them but it was not really that bad in terms of being like a roller coaster.
3 hours in line for a 3 minute ride? I am a Harry Potter fan but I am not sold on this ride yet.

Hi Kylele... What was your opinion of the Revenge Of The Mummy Ride? I am wondering what they can do that is new. If you suddenly had a billion to build any kind of park and ride, It is hard to make something you haven't seen before other than swapping out the animatronic dummies and doing some kind of roller coaster.

When I waited it was about 2 hrs 30 min but I loved it and so did my family! Wonderful, and Diagon Alley was such a fun place to explore (: Highly recommend a visit if you're a HP fan.

Everything there was sooo amazing I spent a bunch of money but it was worth it. My favorite ride was the forbidden journey, (which I rode 6 times) but this was my second favorite. People go to universal S and Disney for theming, for rides which you can't find with the other amusement parks--I don't say theme parks because cedar parks, Six Flags, and the those owned by Seaworld have so little theme. Naming coasters after comics or animals and doing nothing else isn't theme. If you want big thrills, you keep going past Orlando to Tampa for Busch gardens.Gringott's is a fine ride. If it's too tame, you're at the wrong park.

AkameGaKiII The drop is TINY. My son and I are both coaster wimps but it didn't bother us at all. The length of the drop may be 30 feet of track, but I'd say the drop itself is MAYBE 15 feet. Overall I thought the ride was just ok...much preferred forbidden journey, which is amazing.
