Yeah, but there's only so many nerd-toys you can have on a shelf before an interest becomes an obsession, and something that ultimately takes you away from sharing time with your partner. I've collected all kinds of stuff over the years from vintage/antique goods, retro computers/consoles, and old bicycles. I'd happily trade it in for a decent attempt at love if I had to, because my interests would be elsewhere by that point and I'd be willing to show that person that she meant more than the possessions I'd never put a monetary value on. A good balance is probably the ideal solution, but you can't really expect a healthy relationship when you're on eBay each day buying mint-in-box star-trek toys while you're wife is raising your children on a shoestring budget.

There are two things in this video that are reasons for why I didn’t like Leonard’s character: 1. He let Penny get in his head and tries to throw out all of his collectibles and things he loves not because he wants to but because of her calling him pathetic for loving them; Penny might be the one in the wrong and might have apologised, but she was right to call Leonard pathetic for the fact that he would let her manipulate him like that and for the fact that he had no backbone to stand up to her, instead he’d just do whatever it takes to impress her or make her like him. 2. Sheldon on the other hand actually handled this situation like a boss, but really the fact that Leonard wouldn’t listen to reason from his roommate and best friend is again what I hated about him that he didn’t appreciate Sheldon at times for standing up for him and doing something on his behalf, despite how annoying he is and how much he has to put up with from him.
Leonard was pathetic (i mean he was written this way, to be extremely pathetic) . Collectibles, miniatures, trains, or cars - everything could become pathetic when attached to a character who escapes real world challenges. Later on he becomes mature not in a "artificial way" (by forcing himself to get rid of smth) but by actually improving his life, getting real world experience, becoming wiser (well. for sitcom anyway) .
Same here. I would never make a man give up his hobbies or collectibles. Just like I wouldn’t expect them to make me give up mine. I know it doesn’t always happen, but we should be with someone who accepts you for you and the things that excite you, fantasy, manga, anime, comics, fashion, history, science, the arts and so in. I know I sound preachy, my bad, but it’s what I think. We should be with someone who balances us out. It would be fun to have similar interests, where you can discuss movies or tv shows with each other.
I bet no one noticed that Raj immediately took Sheldon's place in the background to bar Leonard from escaping with the toys. If it is scripted, hats off to the director; if it's not, Raj is a method actor. Kudos either way.
I would guess that it is the director. I went back and watched it and raj is moving and looking very much like there is a spot he is supposed to reach as opposed to how he would move if he were just doing it of his own accord. could be wrong though.
This is some of the best that Sheldon has been. I haven’t see all of Big Bang theory but moments like this make me respect Sheldon. Being protective of Leonard knowing he would regret getting rid of it all as well as talking facts to Penny.
To everyone in this chat. DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF LOVING COMIC BOOKS AND TOYS. Any woman who says it’s a dealbreaker are not worth it. You are all special for all your qualities and someone will see that
a true battlecry of a nerd, trying to defend the buying of overpriced useless plastic garbage and comics more expensive then decent books you could actually learn from. ... and years of loneliness between the rare sparks of relationships. Noone would look down on this ridiculous collectible nonsense and comic culture, if it had stayed in the realms of reasonable and rational ... fan comes from fanatic for a reason, and unsurprisingly you fanatics escalated this bs beyond reason and that "culture" truly became a useful warning sign for any rational human being. Thankfully this nonsense saved a lot of women from ending up with an idiot, so its not that there is zero value in it for society. BTW if all are special then noone is ... but sure, if it helps avoiding selfharm, go for that empty phrase!
If you can’t give up comic books and toys for a woman, then you deserve to live in your mother’s basement for life. Find yourself some man hobbies so she respects you
Dear people, please don't make your partner give up on what they love. If you love them then APPRECIATE them and their hobbies. Again, dear people, please don't be an asslicker and grow a spine. If someone doesn't respect you or your hobbies LEAVE THEM.
2:56-3:14 Take note, ladies. You insult your man for what he likes and his hobbies, you will be called out for it without hesitation This was one of the few times I enjoyed Sheldon for calling out Penny’s bullshit
when i watched this episode the first time i got real angry with penny ,, if i'd been there i would have said " that's rich coming from a waitress who has failed in her acting career"
Anyone who wants you to give up things you love (that aren't harmful) isn't that great, it doesn't matter if you don't love those things, but they are part of who the person is. I love like Penny Hello Kitty, cuddly toys and stuff and I'd never give them up for anyone. I'm glad Leonard kept his figures and memorabilia.
Never, ever, ever let a woman tell you what kind of person you should be. She should be concentrating on developing herself...not you. If she tries this crap with you, GET RID OF HER!
I’m a girl but Penny was absolutely awful here. She does have these moments even later in the show (and gets called for it by Sheldon or the girls) where she sees her way of living being the only right way. Let the man enjoy what he loves. It’s hurting no-one. There is no age limits for a passion if it’s not harmful to anyone.
0:58 Fun fact when Raj talks about selling his 1979 Mattel Millennium Falcon he has it wrong 😂 Mattel didn’t have the rights to Star Wars in 1979 so I think he means his “1979 Kenner Millennium Falcon with real light speed sound effects.”
2:56 - Classic Sigma Sheldon calling out Penny on her rude hypocrisy even as early back as Season 1. Bizarrely while Leonard grew more of a spine in the later seasons, at least enough to argue against Penny's condescending BS, he'd never break out of the mould enough to leave her for someone right for him like Alex, who wasn't a patronising, snarky bully.
Sheldon's hypocrite line was badass, but I'm not sure how valid it actually is. Penny may have collected toys, but I don't recall her ever actually playing with them.
These guys work, they have friends, they're pretty healthy, they're happy, they have their own homes, and they handle their responsibilities. There are people who are into collectibles and nerdy stuff who dont do any of that, the "mothers basement" types, those are the ones with issues. So if they're responsible adults who handle their business then who the hell cares if they like that stuff?
This hit me and my friends hard, while not scientist some of us were engineers and others scientists assistants, we had a collection of "toys" as well. This made us realize those "collectibles" were no value toys. From that moment we grew up and most of us became adults who did adult things and adjusted well into society.
It always cracks me up seeing how they live. I mean, Howard is an aerospace engineer with a Masters degree from MIT, most prestigious engineering school in the world. There is no company in the world that would pay him less than $150K/year to START. But he lives with his mom and stresses about his $2,600 Bar Mitzvah bond!
Well kinda ok they overstretched his salary too low but I know dudes in great universities not as great as MIT not making the best pay in real life connections matter more
The biggest thing I am hating with Big Bang Theory is how much of Hypocrites the women are in this show. This show was never an appreciation to nerd culture, It was to Humiliate people for Enjoying the things that Sheldon and Leonard enjoy. Meanwhile, the women can enjoy literally anything they choose to, from clothes, to vacations, they get whatever they want while They shame and convert the boys into what they want
It’s true . She mocks the guys for liking geeky stuff and video games but when she spends time playing video games , she becomes addicted. This is shown in S2E3.
Yeah I mean there are some things about them that make them childish but penny isn't perfect. How would she feel if they got upset and called her a drunk cuz she can't go 10 minutes without drinking some wine. It just irritating that just because she isn't into the stuff they are she always find a way to criticize them for it.
I never considered myself a nerd, but the opening the star wars figurine flashed me back to when I was eight and yelled at my brothers when they tried opening one on Christmas day stating they were more collectable in their package undamaged...I have three boxes full of everything they reproduced in 1996 before the 1997 release of the prequel starwars
I wish Tbbt had Leonard be with Sheldon assistant or the girl from the comic store together..He literally only chased penny because she “looked good”..Her personality every season is just horrible towards him. Yes she has a few good moments but those moments don’t make up for 12 seasons of her putting Leonard down constantly being a narcissistic drunk asshole.
I don't understand why everyone is mad at Penny, she snapped because she couldn't get to work because of them. She told Leonard not to give away his things because of her once she calmed down.
I recently went thru something similar to this episode with my "best friend" We used to hang out all the time and bond over lots of things, including childish things like SpongeBob. But then she got a boyfriend and of course that changes everything. After so many months of being ignored by her I decided to speak up and tell her how unwanted I've felt, and she tells me the reason she stopped having me around is because I'm immature for my age and my childish hobbies and interests "hold her back". Well I called her out on her BS reason and told her if something small like that is enough to make her thing it's okay to abandon a friend, especially if that friend has been a good friend to her, then she's the one in need of maturing. Plus she has a room full of Squishmallows and I never judged her for it so she wasn't one to judge. Never let anyone make you feel bad for what you love, especially if it's not hurting anybody.

I would never make a man get rid of his stuff.
Leah Coe do you want to grab dinner sometime?
Why can't more women be like you. All the ones around here either taken, aren't interested or are into the same stuff I am, but have girlfriends.
I like Penny, but I wouldn't do that either.

Never let a woman change you, be you and that makes you happy
Why did she have to kiss him on the cheek when she was already seeing someone. That's basically like driving a dagger to his heart....
This is some of the best that Sheldon has been. I haven’t see all of Big Bang theory but moments like this make me respect Sheldon. Being protective of Leonard knowing he would regret getting rid of it all as well as talking facts to Penny.
I was half expecting Penny to open the figure she took 😂
sheldon's smile at the end when leonard says "my turn on the time machine" when he gets his friend back ♥
Leonard was the definition of a simp
While Sheldon here was surprisingly a complete chad
Leonard's mom is the reason why he's always a simp
Find yourself some man hobbies so she respects you
Penny was not like that she was just upset at the time machine costing her her pay

Sheldon really called out penny good... He had a very good point
A 1000 rupees is like 16 U.S bucks
In india I can buy 2 16gb hp pendrive (hp)and a 2gb memeory card(sandisk) for 1000rupees ..what you can buy for 16us bucks?
In India you can get 3prostitutes for thousand rupees.

You can a Hershey sized-chocolate for 5 rupees here in India. That's about 13 cents.

I love how Sheldon, Leonard, Raj & Howard goes back inside playing Time Machine together at the ending 😂😂
Not to be that guy but I think he was saying "My turn on the time machine!"
I love sheldon's smile in th end
i did not see that
Yeah that make me smile too
2:56-3:14 Take note, ladies. You insult your man for what he likes and his hobbies, you will be called out for it without hesitation
This was one of the few times I enjoyed Sheldon for calling out Penny’s bullshit
when i watched this episode the first time i got real angry with penny ,, if i'd been there i would have said " that's rich coming from a waitress who has failed in her acting career"
@harsh kumarf Preach, I'll be damned if I sell stuff that I spent collecting.
Facts 👏👏👏
1000 Rupees is fifteen bucks, lmao.
14,37 to be exact but ya lol
$13.70 now
"None of your business" really killed me.
I guess that makes me large breasts. Lmfao xD
Sheldon: You hypocrite! Little Ms Grown-ups dont play with toys! xD
3:53 ... arguably the most realistic scene in the entire series.
Never, ever, ever let a woman tell you what kind of person you should be.
She should be concentrating on developing herself...not you. If she tries this crap with you, GET RID OF HER!
Partners who truly love each other should accept each other for who they are. It's not always easy, but only then things will work out for the best.
The part of Penny with the other guy was the cherry on top of don't giving a fuck about Leonard

Dude, really?! That old Howard maded me wonna puke my own guts out 🤢🤮

Please marry me xD
Sadly there is too many woman like Penny in real life.
SIMPIN' ain't easy, but Leonard's a pro!
Penny : “it’s the things you love who make you who you are “
Howard: “I guess that makes me large breasts”
😂😂😂
No, it just makes him a big boob.

Surprising that Sheldon doesn't the exchange rate of Rupees .
Well exchange are constantly fluctuating so he probably didn’t have the exact amount at the moment.
Sheldon's hypocrite line was badass, but I'm not sure how valid it actually is. Penny may have collected toys, but I don't recall her ever actually playing with them.
Thats even worse
Those guys still have their action figures in boxes
This show was a wonderful simulation of what real friendship should be like.
that look sheldon gives him at the end is just perfect.
I've learnt a new word today 'Nerdvana'. 😂😂😂
A free loader shaming a balless nerd into giving up his toys. Lol.
Penny called them pathetic
Sheldon called Penny Hipocrite
2022 2:26 none shall pass by Sheldon Cooper 😂🤣
2:57 Sheldon called Penny a hypocrite 😂🤣
It always cracks me up seeing how they live. I mean, Howard is an aerospace engineer with a Masters degree from MIT, most prestigious engineering school in the world. There is no company in the world that would pay him less than $150K/year to START. But he lives with his mom and stresses about his $2,600 Bar Mitzvah bond!
Well kinda ok they overstretched his salary too low but I know dudes in great universities not as great as MIT not making the best pay in real life connections matter more
dude, she's already trying to shame you and change you.big red flag.
Sheldon smiles at last like a kid got his happiness after he make come back his best friend. 😄
Penny often treated Leonard like crap, all the way through the series. Cute at first, but by the last few seasons it was hard to watch.
Sheldon was right her to call out Penny on her hypocrisy
Penny really is a hypocrite for this
It’s true . She mocks the guys for liking geeky stuff and video games but when she spends time playing video games , she becomes addicted. This is shown in S2E3.

this is called simping. Thankfully the dude broke the simp mindset of leonard.
They are grown men with good jobs. Yeah, their social awkwardness is apparent, but they have no reason to be ashamed of their hobbies.
No woman is Worth losing your your hobbies and interests over.
Yeah I mean there are some things about them that make them childish but penny isn't perfect. How would she feel if they got upset and called her a drunk cuz she can't go 10 minutes without drinking some wine. It just irritating that just because she isn't into the stuff they are she always find a way to criticize them for it.
She is a damn drunk.
"Who cares as long as you pick me" 😂
I never considered myself a nerd, but the opening the star wars figurine flashed me back to when I was eight and yelled at my brothers when they tried opening one on Christmas day stating they were more collectable in their package undamaged...I have three boxes full of everything they reproduced in 1996 before the 1997 release of the prequel starwars
Nerdvana 😂🤣
Sheldon's face 1:54 😂😂
I wish Tbbt had Leonard be with Sheldon assistant or the girl from the comic store together..He literally only chased penny because she “looked good”..Her personality every season is just horrible towards him. Yes she has a few good moments but those moments don’t make up for 12 seasons of her putting Leonard down constantly being a narcissistic drunk asshole.
I bet Leonard went back a few minutes in time to forget seeing Penny flaunt and flirt with another guy right in his face.
I don't understand why everyone is mad at Penny, she snapped because she couldn't get to work because of them. She told Leonard not to give away his things because of her once she calmed down.
I recently went thru something similar to this episode with my "best friend"
We used to hang out all the time and bond over lots of things, including childish things like SpongeBob.
Awww the last smile on Sheldon's face is so beautiful ❤❤❤
And in the end penny still got rid of all his stuff 😮
As a girl I would never ask my boyfriend to sell the stuff that makes him happy.
