Vinnie is indeed,after all these years from Holly Diver till today,the greatest rock drummer that took Bonzo's legacy,added his own vibe,skill,heart and stunnig powerfull technique,and brought it to us,so we can enjoy listening to uniqueness....Way to go,man.You really rock!
Regardless of what anyone thinks, this man is the best hard rock drummer in the world.

totally agree on his first statements about fills. I noticed the Holy Diver album had a great formula: Lots of drum fills and very few guitar fills....makes for a powerful combination

Yes you're correct. But excellent guitar on Holy Diver album. The guitarist on that album happened to be a 17 yr old Vivian Campbell actually. Excellent album.
Drums sound pretty killer tuned up like that.

in the end, your drums need to sound great...and these sound great!!! Vinnie plays in the same style as Bobby Rondinelli...both groove rock drummers. Get his records with Rick Derringer...he was young and knocked it out of the park!!! late 70's stuff... what you see here is what you do not get on an instructional DVD...personality. look how cool he is...if you play in a band on tour you want a guy that is fun to hang with
i hate when a drummer solos through the whole song, i want to hear the music, not someone pound on a tom.
hahaahaaaaa Vinny is great ROCK DRUMMER! But zero technic far from Buddy and Cobham. hahaha Vinny is so simple, rude and primitive. I like him but is zero of feeling and volumes. but rock drummer.
The feel is more primitive , but his technique is not primitive .
Things he did with Dio are more difficult that you think .
And the Metrics on Angry machines album its pretty hard to do .
