For the promotion of herbal cultivation under Atma Nirbhar Bharat, the Ministry of Finance has allocated a package worth Rs. 4,000 crore. The Ministry of Ayush has created a draught strategy for the cultivation and marketing of medicinal plants. Around 21,000 plant species have the potential to be used as medical plants, according to the WHO.
According to the operational guidelines of the Scheme, the Ministry of AYUSH is providing subsidies for 140 medicinal plants at 30%, 50%, and 75% of the cost of their cultivation in order to support the medicinal cultivation in India. These amounts depend on the status of availability and market demand.
