    This was great! The "home cooking" aspect of your channel is why I am here, to learn how every day Japanese live. This video fits very well with the home food theme. I would love to learn about how different areas have different foods and culture. Start with your home and tell us all about your life there. When I lived in Romania I discovered everyone thought America is like in the movies, and it's not! I am sure we see Japan the same way, as like in the movies.

    I never would have guessed that Japan is so diverse in its geography.
    I’d love to learn more about the food in the different regions. In one of your videos, you talked about planning meals that have something from the mountains, another from the sea and so on. I’d love to hear more about this.

    I just wish there was a geography video of Japan that didn't talk about earthquakes and tsunamis.. like, this takes a bunch of the video away when we could be learning about the specific prefecture landscapes, terrain and flora! Like, bro, I swear, we all over the world know that there are lots of earthquakes, someone would have to live under a rock not to know that.

    Thanks a lot for such a video! I love your style, and all the supporting illustrations you provide. I'm here not only for the recipes themselves, but rather for education, so I personally will be absolutely excited if you choose to make more videos on Japanese culture and nature. How they influence each other, and the cuisine, of course. This might help in cooking more thoughtfully and appreciating the country as a tourist more deeply. Hope to visit Japan some day..

    I loved this video! I just happened to run across your video touring your home. I think the house design is fabulous and smart--more forward-thinking than here in the U.S. I would love to have a Japanese bathing room! It would solve a lot of my issues with my disability. I also like the kitchen design very much--I am a pescatarian so it would be perfect for me.
    I love learning and have always admired Japan, so when this video popped up to watch at the end of the house tour, I watched it also! A lot of very interesting information in a short amount of time, which is good for busy people of today, a very smart, well made video. And so much beauty!! Sadly, my traveling days are over--I had Japan on my list but never made it there. I would love to see Japan now more than ever! Especially in Fall, Winter, and Spring!
    I was pausing on several points of interest, the tectonic plates was one, and the surrounding underwater topography. It looks to me like the Sea of Japan could be a very ancient impact site, hit by a large mass of space debris of some kind.
    I loved the video, so I will subscribe to see what you make in the future! You are good at this!

    I had a Japanese classmate in high school who said her grandmother used to make her leek soup when she wasn't feeling well. Is that common in Japan? (like chicken noodle is common sick food in USA) If it is that sounds like a delicious recipe that I'd love to see!

    • @taijiskitchen
      @taijiskitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      oh, thats a good idea for a video!! especially in this time of world pandemic!!
      the leek soup is quite popular in Japan when someone becomes sick. its quite easy; slice the leek/scallion (green onion), lightly stir fry, then add Dashi stock or chicken stock (or any kind of stock of your choice) and add a little salt and/or soy sauce, bring to boil then its finished!! you can also add in a little ground ginger, if you like.

    Taiji, I could listen to you teach about anything! I’d be interested also in videos of Japanese art. Keep up the excellent work. 😀

    Had to look up how a typhoon was different from a hurricane here in the US! Turns out it’s the same and terminology changes based on location 🤓🤯

    I am loving your channel. I have been watching it for a few days straight now! It would be so cool if you made more videos about culture and history. Maybe make a video for each of the festivals? Anyway, thank you for sharing 😁
