Yeah its pure nostalgia for me . Reminds me of Dad. He would let me watch all kinds of horror and violence but if there was a sex scene I'd have to go to bed haha . I was about 8 when this came out
great movie , and great soundtrack this movie was his time ahead...look now at 2017 we have crazy shows everywhere in our television ...and many people belive everything what they told you in the television. underated movie...greets from germany
@@attilapapp8865 While I agree that "Running Man" movie plagiarizes heavily the French film "Le prix du danger", it is not true to say that Stephen King was inspired by the French film to write his "Running Man" novel, since this novel was published 8 months before the film was released. Moreover, the French film is an adaptation of a short story (The Prize of Peril) published by Robert Sheckley in 1958 (which had already been adapted for television in Germany in 1970).
@@Rachel-bc6qq Haha, yeah. Instead, they gave him a 'happily ever after' ending. What would have been really good was if they actually made the film similar to the book, give the audience more thrill.
The Running Man was made in 1987 & set around the present time. You can still tell it's in the 80s though cause they have cassette tapes, boxy TVs & computers & there's only 1 mobile phone used by the host guy near the end.
Yeah and Amber has that automatic coffee maker in her apartment. I guess those things came out like early 90s ? And she has voice command over the coffe maker and lights and TV, just as we have today but in '87 that was still like totally futuristic for most folks.

Personally, I think that there ought to be a remake of "The Running Man" someday. But I want the remake to be faithful to the original Richard Bachman novel. The 1987 film was too campy, in my opinion.
The perfect sound of a dystopic world......
"Go ahead! Do it! Shut off the deadline or we all lose our heads!"
One man must do the run first , situation unclear , i would run to clear the situation , count seconds.

"It's showtime!"
The French movie "Le prix du danger" was ahead of time. Stephen King just stole the whole story and "wrote" Running Man.

Epic soundtrack!!
This soundtrack suites the film and the book, by Stephen King (written as Richard Bachman). Awesome book and its completely different to the film.
@@Rachel-bc6qq Haha, yeah. Instead, they gave him a 'happily ever after' ending. What would have been really good was if they actually made the film similar to the book, give the audience more thrill.
King wrote this under a pseudo name because the whole story was stolen from a French movie "Le prix du danger" and hewas afraid of copyright claims.
@@attilapapp8865 Actually, the whole idea is stolen from the climax of Ray Bradbury's "Farenheit 451".
