      Still doesn't make sense to me. Like sure - if you're going purely by definition it's an animal product. But veganism for most people targets the fact that you're hurting an animal for its product (e.g. milk by constantly having a pregnant cow, egg for keeping hens in small cages...). But you're not hurting the bee or making their habits too different. In fact, we're actually helping their declining population and giving them spacious, stable homes. So I'd find it stupid to not make an exception for honey. It implies it stems from animal cruelty even though it's a good breakfast alternative!

    • @namiip
      @namiip ปีที่แล้ว +46

      @@xhantechan5324 If you search up “is honey vegan,” the first result “Honey: Ethical Considerations & Vegan Alternatives” list out some reasons that some vegans avoid honey. Other websites also talks about it, but I’d say the main reasons are that you’re talking away their food, and the industry also treats bees quite horribly. There’s also some problems concerning wild/native bees- honey bees are not at any risk, it’s the wild bees whose population are hurt. “Saving the bees” is for wild bees, not honey bees

      Honey is made by bees, veganism tries not to consume or use products that come from animals no matter what, a vegan does not eat meat, does not eat honey, does not drink milk and its derivatives, nor does use, for example, wool or leather, because all of that belongs to animals, so honey is not vegan. In any case, it is vegetarian, because vegetarianism is only about not consuming meat, and honey obviusly is not meat, and for example you can consume milk, eggs, etc.

      I mean if it comes to honey it is kidna right and wrong at the same time??? And that is only bc honey is just procesed nectar that was procesed in their stomach which to put is simple, honey is basically bee vomit, but you can always think of it like how bread, it is made by bakers procesing ingridients that don't come from us. So I don't really consider honey non-vegan simply because it was procesed by bees in their bellies and does not come from them directly.

    • @SanaSamaha
      @SanaSamaha ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tneanxiety395 The copium is strong in this one. The fact that honey is produced by bees is enough to make it non-vegan. Without a baker, the flour, water, and yeast never become bread. The baker makes the bread. Without the bee, the nectar never becomes honey. The bee makes the honey.

    I'm no vegan/vegetarian, I do like my meat
    ..
    that didnt sound right- anyway
    however I believe the difference is
    a Vegetarian is a person who strictly does not eat Animals, but they're fine with eating products derived from them such as milk cheese honey egg and such
    a Vegan... however, is a person who does not desire to eat anything that has direct relation with an animal, no milk, no egg, no nothing and rather catter to Soy alternative
    which is kinda weird because Bees are not exactly animals, bugs arent considered animals but here we are. (They belong in the Animal Kingdom category but they don't form part of the "animal" sub-category, rather into the... uh.. what was the name, arthropods??? man it's been long since school.)
    And can't really say "anything derived from living beings" because plants are living beings too.

    I do find it weird that honey isn't vegan. I understand no animal products whatsoever but isn't there veganism to try and not harm animals, which is why people are vegan instead of vegetarian? Like, making milk can cause a cow to suffer, I get that, but bees don't suffer for honey? So is it necessary to cut it out when the process of making honey doesn't discomfort the bee any?
    Unless I'm wrong and the bee's are getting hurt somehow, but I didn't think they were.

    • @Stolanis
      @Stolanis ปีที่แล้ว

      You could argue that they suffer by you taking away their honey. The reason bees make honey in the first place is as a way of building stores of food for the hive. Normally beekeepers will leave sugar behind as 'payment' when they take the honey to make sure the hive stays alive, but if you believe that nature's way is the best then the bees should be allowed to eat the honey that they make themselves.

    I mean people kinda choose how extreme they want to be Vegan. I mean Plants are also living. But also Vegetarion is fine with eating fish, because the fish is less Human like, when comapred to land animals. its basically how much is your capacity to empathize with Non human things and feel bad for eating them. I mean you might even feel bad cutting down plants. Or eating an insect. But denying what's natural to the human body is a choice people have to make, and sometimes its not possible, like when I went to college alot of people couldnt be veagan because there just wasnt any veagan food options. As for Honey, yeah you could be someone who justifies Honey and Milk, as long as it doesn't kill the animal, or you could say you dont want it because its exploiting the animal. or maybe you your okay with Honey, because you dont like Bugs anyway but you sympathize with cows. Its basically subjective.

      Nectar is processed by bees by converting the nectar into a more simple sugar that doesn't just harden or crystalize like the sugars you'd commonly use in home cooking. I believe they have a special organ that processes it that then gets stored in the hive for the seasons where flowering plants are less likely to bloom.

      Vegan, eat’s nothing that comes from animals. Anything an animal creates or is part of an animal is not eaten by vegans.
      Vegetarian, doesn’t eat meat. That’s it really.

    Wait, isn't honey a vegan? Cause honey came from flower(pollen) and then the bees spit it out, turning into honey??? It's still pollen, right??

    • @innisclipping
      @innisclipping  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honey is basically nectar consumed by bees and processing it into honey or royal honey. Pollens just stick to bees to impregnate other plants/flower of it's kind.

    I wonder why people become vegan..like they don't wanna eat meat because they alive? Plants alive too, and waters have small microorganisms that also alive.

      It's more about the environmental factors, because factory farming in developed countries contribute to more carbon emissions than fossil fuels. By going vegan, these ppl choose to boycott these farms and stuff. That being said though, I'm not vegan and the ppl that can get overly obnoxious and judgemental by virtue-signalling about others not being vegan are VERY annoying. 😑

      @@AyakoHideko true..like I'm not against people being vegan, I'm just really curious. They can do whatever they want as long they don't try to force other people to be vegan.

      @@izu1624 I'm glad to have been helpful then haha! In all honesty, I respect the ppl who go vegan because they're against factory farming, (and they have the human decency to not look down on other ppl) but just like another commenter said before their comment was gone, going vegan is kinda based off of your environment too cuz some places don't have vegan stuff readily available. It is a privilege to be able to go vegan in a way, because where I live in a third world country, there's just no places that can support that kinda lifestyle unless you live in the capital city. (And that's assuming that you have the funds to continue on with that lifestyle too, because those food aint cheap D:)

      Because there is a differents betwen living plants and living animals. I am vegan because i know what Happens to animals in These factorys. Like Tons of Chicken caged into cells so small they can't move an Inch. Pigs who canibalice on each other Out of Stress. Cow's which never See their Childs, because we Humans are so egoistic wanting to Drink their Milk so the calf gets killed Instant or gets raised with a Substitute. Which is Just so crazy to me.

      Veganism in it's essence is a movement to stop cruelty that is associated with factory farming along with the environmental damage that comes with it. Personally, I really respect vegans because the reason they transitioned to veganism is for a pretty amazing cause. It's a form of protest through self sacrifice. Plus, in today's day and age, with so many resources, you can lead a completely healthy and fulfilling life even with a vegan diet. Personally, I haven't gone vegan, but I have been debating it for quite a while haha
      Idk if I have it in me to give up on chicken T_T My main advantage is being from India. Here, 40% of the population is vegetarian & even people who aren't vegetarian usually eat a vegetarian diet 50%-70% of the time throughout the week. Being a vegetarian is actually cheaper & being vegan is just a step farther than that. Maybe some day I'll take the plunge into veganism, but currently, I'm not there yet.

    Technically not. But your'e going too far with your veganism if you care about that. Same with unfertilized eggs. Some animal husbandry is perfectly good in my opinion. Its not more unethical than having a spayed cat.
