@@HetaClaude No. Japanese can't speak Tagalog that well due to how difficult the intonations are. It might be the same in terms of phonetics but cadence and vowel movements are different. In my experience, Japanese people learn Bisaya much quickly than Tagalog due to its Glottal Stops.

Other than meaning afternoon... "hapon" in tagalog I would say more accurately translates to evening, or sunset. Considering that Japan calls itself Nihon or "Rising Sun" I've always believed this was done on purpose...
