Yuma pulling the clutch final destiny shining draw is one of the greatest moments ever and really shows just how strong yuma became throughout the series
This is a beautiful moment, probably one of the best in the entire anime. Though many may disagree, excluding those within this comment thread, I would think that Zexal had the most soul out of the 5 animes they have released. As a kid, 11 years of age, I fell in love with this show, not just for the flashy colors, incredible battles, or even watching the game mechanics in action. Truthfully, it was Yuma’s character development which resonated with me the most. His character brimmed with idealism in almost every duel. I would find myself replaying episodes just to account for the moment Yuma would break through his opponents emotional wall with a moral speech. Those moments really sold the anime for me as they taught me valuable lessons. It taught me from a young age how the strength of willpower can prevail, even against the toughest of evils. Another was to learn how to use your willpower and your strength to help others, to care for them. The last that kindness is important in our world and it is good to care for others as a base rule. When we think of hero’s in our world we think of the men and women that died defending others in the pursuit of peace. Yuma is much like those figures, though eventually hardened by their found strength, deep down at their core, they care for others and that care drives people like Yuma forward. That is what makes Zexal so incredible. It is essentially a story about another of history’s compassionate heroes fighting save others out of kindness. In a way this anime teaches a moral lesson to children what historians have much trouble getting across in words. “It is good to use that skills you’ve learned to help others, even if they don’t want to be helped”
In my opinion, yuma's true ace is hope roots and Astral's ace is number 39 utopia One can say both are the aces because they are the half of each other's soul But the philosophy behind roots and yuma's boss , number F0 is how yuma sees victory , you can reach victory without the need to always rank-up Astral sees victory in order to achieve it you have to rank up and follow the track and the exact formula to win. Astral guided yuma to number 39 in order to reach that mission with him which is possessing the numeron code and rewriting the world for Astral world to exist only , Number 39 was a step for all his evolutions Whereas yuma's use for number 39 utopia made him learn more about himself , potentially he became so dependent on him that he beats over any strong monster with him He doesn't strive for evolution, he strives for an unknown possible future for the likes of himself !
Utopia roots is the monster that achieved Yuma's philosophy of dueling A monster far away from these evolutions The origin of victory, the root of perfection And depending on who you are , just who you are without ranking up yourself into different versions is the way to win !
Will say i do think a bit of wated potential at the end of zexal was make yuma a reincarnation of a part of astral and not make yuma the rrincarnation of don thousands heroic side, the side that got weathered by the cruel reality of the astral world. It would have been so cathartic that it is ultimately the light of chaos that brings forth a new hope.
2:54 I'm more surprised that amen's effect took the exact number of cards that clear yuma's deck, sure he wouldn't lose instantly if say it's one more than what he owns(in that case amen will only take 11 cards) but it's still one of those hyper spasific anime moments
I still say changing Hope's name to Utopia was the dumbest and most unnesesary change ever in Yu-gi-oh history, it didnt just change the meaning behind the card but also it's meaning to Yuma as a duelist.😒
Zexal had the best concept of an anime out of all of them imo, an immature bratty kid maturing and finding a way to care less about his problems and more finding a place for his empathy in the world. coming to terms with his own feelings and past struggles to help others deal with theirs. its nice the story is built like its Yuma bringing hope (referencing the fact that Utopias name is hope) to people but instead he is finding hope. he is growing up. it is a much better story if you look at it with just the arcs of the show.
Jaden is like the supreme king and one of the few characters who rarely lost and his and Yugi's along with yuseis and play maker along with yuya have more wins then loses while Yuma has more loses then the past and future protagonists. Kaito is a whole lot better because he stood up against Mizar when Yuma was going to lose
I honestly think that YuGiOh Zexal might have the best duells in the whole yugioh anime. I mean they are so many fire ones, Yuma vs Kite, Nash vs Quattro was an epic one, Yuma vs Don Thousand and the list goes on. Zexal is so awesome and the most underrated from all on. The best yugioh is for me an pick em between GX and Zexal.
“Unlike that green nerd loser who didn’t challenge himself” 🤓🤓🤓 deku was also from zero to hero too, you know. as a person with no superpowers which sets him apart from the 80% of the global population that have superpowers, he challenged himself to prove his worth and receive One For All and learned to master it gradually to become the greatest hero ever. have you even seen it?
I always liked how instead being an expert from the first episode who just got better cards when the plot needed it, Yuma started out as a dogshit duelist. Granted, Yuma absolutely got cards that just happened to be perfect for a given scenario like all the Yugioh protagonists have done, but Yuma put in the work to get better. On a side note, it bugs that they brought Hope Roots and the Rank Down spell into the real game and never did anything else with that idea.
@@scarletrose8766 it's more of an astral world thing. you notice that the don doesn't do back to back shining draws like eliphas does. for the astral world their duel is all about perfection, and shining draws are the epitome for that. why astral and yuma don't do it is up to debate, but my assumption will be that eliphas shining draw is the type that lets him draw anything in his deck while yuma and shark's shining draws are the type to go beyond their decks.
I feel conflicted about Yuma, on one hand him having to grow into a great duelist compared to the other yugioh protags who all seemed naturals at the game was neat...but at the same time the "power of Zexal" was abit much at times...it's one thing to use cards you've never had before, but to literally create them...or in the infamous case with his duel against Vector changing the card completely, was really silly to get behind...and of course the over the top attack point values like in this video...remember when being able to get someone over 3000 was impressive?

BTW , a possible reference to astral world's style of dueling exists in raidraptors used by Shun ^^
Also I strongly believe that Yuto is inspired by Yuma and Shark fusioned together , in the phantom knights archetype it's about Dark Knights , and funny objects like cloaks and rings + The hair is like Yuma's and the colour is Shark's
dont you know? shun + yuto from alt ver of hartland
@satyayana1399 Yep that's why :) See the last episode of zexal astral and barian world became one
They influenced each other's dueling styles
Dude got sent to the freaking Shadow Realm with that attack.
Yuma, Yuya, Judai, Yugi. Best and most powerful duelists. Yuma legit just poofed a whole winning card into existence, and took out a monster with 33 overlay units
Did you seriously left Yusei out of this?
@@LokiToxtrocity Yes. Cause I don’t care about him. Dude’s deck is kinda trash and he plot armors 90% of his fights.
@@yaboigamerdouji7573 his deck is one of the most balanced in the series the heck
@@LokiToxtrocityyeah, and everyone also forgets that the (meta)physics is entirely different there.
At the end of the original manga, the author explicity makes clear that Yugioh is a story of communication, with the duels just being the vector.

@@ajbXYZcool acoustic is an intentional mispronunciation of autistic
@@fxzzy__ I actually knew that already thanks to a different vid, was kind of looking to get the other person, the one that called the hair "autistic" to maybe do some introspection on why he was calling it that, because as far as my awareness goes, people who use "acoustic" are making fun of autistic people (of which I am one), which is No Good.
You should post that moment when Astral recovers his confidence after the duel with Kaito. That's a very god moment and i don't see a lot of people bing that very often.
Yo have I been missing out by not watching Zexal in Japanese? How is this moment of the duel even more epic with the Japanese OSTs and sound effects?!
You've been missing out severely. This moment in the dub is severely underwhelming compared to the JP version, which is the case for many other scenes
I'd suggest a rewatch in Japanese, that's what I did
@@fxzzy__ Sounds like a plan ^_^

You've basically been trapped in the Matrix and didn't know for a _very_ long time. You would have to rewatch ALL Yu-Gi-Oh! series in Japanese to undo the brainwashing.
I suggest watching Shooting Star Dragon's Summon on TH-cam and comparing the Japanese one with the dub one. The Japanese one is AMAZING while the English one is insultingly underwhelming.

This voice is SOOOO much better than the dub
Prolly the only one but I just shed a tear when all the overlay units gave roots the atk boost, plus the double or nothing
That attack power was major overkill.
Yuma pulling the clutch final destiny shining draw is one of the greatest moments ever and really shows just how strong yuma became throughout the series
Yay im glad i found this scene again.
Yuma has so many banger moments

Woah, I just realized that they hinted Astral and Yuma being each others' half in this episode 😂😂 I wasn't notice it when I was watching years ago.
Damn I loved this duel specially when Yuma uses double or nothing in this duel
So as someone who's never seen clips of the Japanese dub of Zexal... Geez Yuma's voice is deep...
In my opinion, yuma's true ace is hope roots and Astral's ace is number 39 utopia
One can say both are the aces because they are the half of each other's soul
But the philosophy behind roots and yuma's boss , number F0 is how yuma sees victory , you can reach victory without the need to always rank-up
Astral sees victory in order to achieve it you have to rank up and follow the track and the exact formula to win.
Astral guided yuma to number 39 in order to reach that mission with him which is possessing the numeron code and rewriting the world for Astral world to exist only , Number 39 was a step for all his evolutions
Whereas yuma's use for number 39 utopia made him learn more about himself , potentially he became so dependent on him that he beats over any strong monster with him
He doesn't strive for evolution, he strives for an unknown possible future for the likes of himself !
Utopia roots is the monster that achieved Yuma's philosophy of dueling
A monster far away from these evolutions
The origin of victory, the root of perfection
And depending on who you are , just who you are without ranking up yourself into different versions is the way to win !
Hey I found you and subscribe to you. Yuma truly made a great comeback
Ty :)
Utopia really carried Yuma the entire show
His back must be broken into atoms 🤣🤣🤣
Most impressive, Yuma!
I wish you could upload nasch's clutch moments against chaos chimera dragon
Still the best on my book
Will say i do think a bit of wated potential at the end of zexal was make yuma a reincarnation of a part of astral and not make yuma the rrincarnation of don thousands heroic side, the side that got weathered by the cruel reality of the astral world. It would have been so cathartic that it is ultimately the light of chaos that brings forth a new hope.
oh wow that is actually a really interesting concept
Utopia is the coolest protag ace monster. I especially love when Yuma shining draw a Zexal Weapon. It's epic.
Lord that OST when the Shining Draw starts...
Utopia is symbolic of idealism, which has meaning equivalent to optimism and thus hope, in my opinion. 🧐

He did the same thing with Vector! Having no cards in his deck and still won using one card. Little yugi did the same thing with Bakura.

So many emotional duels too. Nasch vs Vector, and Yuma vs Shark too
ohhh, japanese yuma, my favorite, katobingu da ore

I can't wait for them to print the anime version of roots. yugioh also needs a rank-down-magic archetype

Shining draw❌
Flash bang ✅
1:30 not sure why Eliphas say that
I always liked how instead being an expert from the first episode who just got better cards when the plot needed it, Yuma started out as a dogshit duelist.
Even nerfed, the real card version of Hope Roots would've beaten Elipha, reaching 14K ATK points.
For each time Yuma use the Double-up Chance, Hope's attack points even more stronger

Since shining draw creates a new card out of thin air, could you use it to avoid decking out?
It's probably like destiny draw can only be used once per duel to balance it out.
@@scarletrose8766 eliphas spammed shinning draws back to back. So it's definitely not a once per duel thing.
@@nekoluxuria7721 lol then I guess Yuma can't do it back to back or it be too easy.

It was as if the English VA tried his utmost to make the character as annoying as possible
