I've listened to this storm maybe 10-30 times in the past two weeks. I've tried other recordings but yours is simply the best. It has such a well captured range of close thunder, heavy rain, soft rain. PRIMO! Highly recommend playing it over movie soundtracks. Listening to it over Blade Runner OST right now. Top tier!

The basic idea is to record the sound using 2 microphones placed similar to where your ears would be. I kinda diy it, but a proper setup would include a dummy head & torso with microphones built into the ears to mimic how sound travels around the body.
