Buying second hand is optimal for me. Some items have been lasting me forever the past few years. Especially since learning how to repair.

PREACH! People praise aritzia but it’s hardly any different than other fast fashion brands.

I find it interesting that you claim Aritzia doesn’t fall into the “not great quality” category. Aritzia’s quality has been declining for quite awhile now and it’s becoming more well known that their garments are made from cheaper materials. They’re using less linen, wool, and silk and more synthetic materials like polyester than ever before yet still charging the same prices. Also so many of their signature fabrics, like the Babaton ribbed collection, are known for snagging and pilling. While I agree that Aritzia is still above places like Fashion Nova or Shein, I would hardly consider them to fall into the high quality category today

That's interesting to hear. Maybe it's because I only see/buy secondhand Aritizia pieces, but the quality still seems decent and better than most fast fashion.

I would agree with this about the quality. I only discovered Aritzia this year due to influencers claiming it was high quality and built to last. Of course, I want to buy pieces that are going to last me a good number of years. I go to their website to check them out, only to see the fabric choices were very, very subpar for the price point. Very disappointed in what I saw.

As someone who needs the xxs size they offer I’ve been devastated at the decline in quality. I ordered the exact same bodysuit and dress one year apart and the new one was shockingly horrible quality even though the price went up and it was supposed to be the same thing

How about Sezane ? They are constantly releasing new products. Could you let me know if that brand is also fast fashion?

      Curious about this as well

I'm also interested in Sezane! Some more sustainable influencers recommended this brand but it's true, they always seem to have a new collection coming up.

I'm curious about Sezane, too! I remember looking at their website a couple of years ago and I didn't find any mention about where they source their materials and who sews their garments... I gave up ultimately because I couldn't find a single jumper that did not contain some polyester and I try to avoid that.

Great question! I'll make another video about them

I find most eco stores are too hyped. Purchasing quality matters. I have high quality coats from Aritzia that should last 10 to 20 years. The most eco thing you can purchase is something that lasts a lifetime.

In theory yes... but almost no clothing currently made will last a lifetime. If we're talking the most sustainable, it's avoiding all new and shopping secondhand.

@@MyGreenCloset there are gems, but takes time. I have a 25 year old wool coat. Still looks new and plan to have another 20 years at least. Purchased at Laura of all places. Yes things like tshirts, cotton pants, won’t last, but it’s about finding longevity. Secondhand was new once. But I agree it’s a good option for items with low longevity.
