Nothing beats the sound of a Huey helicopter 👍
I was a crew chief on UH-1H Hueys in Germany. The sound has never left my head. Love the ole bird!!
When I was about 9 - 12 me and my brother use to rush out of our house on the farm in the Waikato, and watch the Royal New Zealand Air Force UH-1Hs coming towards us, thump thump thump. Was a great site
nothing better than a huey sound in the distance
I love the distant sound of the Iroquois.
Ainoko NZ same

One heck of a pilot.
He’s really hot dogging it while running it through its paces.
He can park that bird on a dime and make change for you.
The "Harley Davidson" of helicopters.

Hear, Hear! Sure miss the Days of being a Crew Chief and Door Gunner on the Huey!
As an old retired active duty USAF weapons troop, I've flown in many HH-60 Pavehawks. But a fun ride in a Huey is my dream.
How I remember the sounds of Vietnam. These machines were incredibly reliable. You'd know rescue was on the way by that deep whooping sound of the rotor blades. Nice video.
What a old beast! Crew chief in Viet Nam 67-68. The sound of a Huey is pure testosterone!
This U.S.Vietnam Vet offers a heart-felt thank you to the Kiwi; who shot this (best to be found on U-tube) Huey UH-1 video with outstanding audio.
The BEST "Huey" video EVER! Thanks for not adding music.
I love the way Hueys sound.
on Basic training 1995 our company did a full Helo training day on these and the pilots were just top notch.
That pilot is just flat good.
8 in the air that day was an awesome sight and sound.
Wow !! Finally a Huey video showcasing HOW THEY ARE MEANT TO BE FLOWN !! And not stupid schoolish boring circuits
Had the chance to be out on a SAR were one was called up for a winch . Came from waiouru as one was there at the time , about 2am heard it from a few valleys away then dropping into ours in broken fog. Man that made my hairs stand up. Imagine the emotions people go through when lost or in a position of help and you here that out there.
so correct my friend,,, it does make your hair stand on end..
I was in my eight year in school when I get a closer look at this majestic war horse, it was so exciting for me.....
! Saigon !!! , me encanta !!!
Yes best huey video on youtube
nothing like the sound of a Huey
What a great pilot
...am almost finished building a 1/32nd. scale plastic model (heavily weighted with "nuts & bolts"...to give a die-cast heft to it) of a Huey......bright yellow of the Canadian Air Rescue.
Thanx for the vid.
The distinctive chopping sound is the rotor tips punching through the sound barrier, or mini sonic booms.
Sounds cool but its not very ideal for rotary aviation. Sikorsky's X2 technology has managed to eliminate it entirely for the first time. If you are a chopper nut and you haven't checked it out be sure too. Its the future of rotary wing aviation.
Gonna miss that sound when they go...
Very nice,,,,, for those that don't know, the chopping sound comes from the circumference of the rotor being 12.5 meters and only 2 blades..
they also now make the Iroquois with dual engines.... R.N.Z.A.F might have grounded the skyhawks but at least we still have a force... (wish we had Harriers).
The sound of four hueys in the distance.
Prisma de opções.... N" Varietis......legend! Prefer gunship!
DA PRAZER EM VER ESSA MAQUINA FANTASTICA VOANDO
Sure brings back some memories. Did that tight turn back to target/objective and had folks swear we were upside down.

Now imagine 30 of them together! I do not need to imagine, I have seen it, a few times. :-D
wow, only ever saw a few that flew from Ohakea over wanganui, the way the blades chop the air is friggin' awesome. youtube really can't give that feelings.

Legal
