Sam’s Scan an Go is EVERYTHING!
This is the difference maker for me. I love Costco but I’ll never wait in another line again.
No wonder Walmart is losing billions, people just walk out with carts of stuff w/o paying.

yeap, time is the most valuable thing and not waiting in line definitely gives that value back to you.
I am keeping Costco. I love the way they treat their employees. Furthermore, Costco looks cleaner, is way more organized, and has higher quality goods. I mean, they had Manuka Honey for sale. Although Costco lacks some technology features like scan to go, their customer service is unmatched. I will gladly keep paying the $60 annual membership fee.
First, Sam's Club needs MORE locations. And exclusive items. From what I saw, I can just go to Walmart for free

Costco has the most loyal retail employees. They get good wages, and treated decently. Sam's club is just a repackaged Walmart.
There are 3 Costco stores within a relatively doable distance (5, 8 & 10 miles) to my home, but the parking lots and nearby intersections are nightmares. Sam's Club (3.9 miles) wins hand down for distance, parking and the icing on the cake, SCAN & GO!
Sams club memberships are regularly $25 on Groupon. I’ll still take Costco over Sam’s.
Costco is customer focused. Costco has a far superior food court which is always open. Costco has the best sample setup. Costco provide unique items that ive never seen. Costco brings joy to my heart. Costco is far superior.

I agree. About 3 years ago, customer service at Sam's Club in Edison, NJ didn't allow me to return stuff I bought online even though the online policy said it was permitted. I even called Sam's Club customer service and they said that the store would decide if they wanted to take back online purchase or not.
I had quite mixed experience at costco.
I would say I didn’t have a good experience with customer service with Costco in Maryland. Sams was way better.

That’s weird, I went to Sams Club in Texas a week ago and was told the membership for my mom to sign up was $70…. I decided to call my uncle instead to use his card because she usually just gets detergent, toilet paper, paper towels paper plates, and water… Not worth if because I stock her up before I fly out.

Literally saves so much time. I really appreciate Sam's doing that. Also, their Member's Mark brands are very high quality. We must be in the minority that's in Sam's Club
I agree. While waiting in line for Sam's employees to scan my receipt (which I don't have yet), I scan my stuff with the app. By the time I need to show my receipt, it's ready.
Be very cautious with scan and go. Lots of people at my store had their identity stolen from using it. Within 12 hours of using it I received about 100 emails from all around the world that were not in English. Very scary , I called Sam’s club customer service and they told me they were flooded with calls with customers that also were affected. Sam’s club did absolutely nothing to help anybody that this happened to.
Costco all the way. Idc how much their membership goes up, I will always be loyal. They have great customer service, return policy and always fair pricing.

@@thomaskim5008 true and nothing wrong with profits. Or why would they open a store. but Sam’s association with Walmart is what makes me pause even with free membership at Sam’s. Costco has great customer service and their staff has very positive feedback to my knowledge.
Costco for life 😂. Be honest, most items are better quality at Costco than Sam's. Also, I had an identity fraud from Sam's. Someone used my CC to order an Apple computer to an apartment. I called Sam's, and they said they cannot do anything about it, but asked me to call FedEx. I did, and asked FedEx to return the product. My point is Sam's did not even try to help me to stop delivering the product😢
I guess this is my last year of having sams club plus membership. I live an hour away from the nearest club and don't get anything from the "perks"

8 year Costco employee here. All we do is compete and fight for the consumer now. We have certain items all year round now when we used to only carry it for a couple months early in the year. It’s just pure competition now in the consumerism world and all employees are pretty much over it. The new thing is to have more items than the other place.
I remember not to long ago, Costco gas was a lot cheaper than everyone else, now they are just as cheap as the cheap stations.
They was also criticized for the bad gas they had here in Atlanta a couple of months ago. Messing up people cars

They give you coupons book at the door and they even take coupons from the manufacturer and Sam's don't do that

Where I live, Costco is very crowded. It’s an uncomfortable shopping experience. Sam’s is much better, and they offer early hours for premium membership.

My sister has membership at both. Depending on what's needed at her grandchild's school & who has it, she's all in! Plus she loves shopping. 🤭

We live close to sam’s club! I been a plus member since covid started. I use grocery delivery about 2-3 times per month. what I noticed is the convenience of having groceries delivered. it is far less stressful to have groceries delivered. It is worth the 8 dollar fee ! I cancelled my Costco membership . Costco is always in a bad location and it is always a zoo!
The Costco nearest to me is a “business” center. I really don’t need most of what that location has. Also, I HATE the “deep freezer” you have to go into to get any package of meat. For those reasons, I’ll stick with Sam’s.
I prefer some of Sam's products, but Costco is more convenient. While Walmart started expanding to more densely populated areas, they failed to do this with their Sam's brand and let Costco take up that space.
Sams membership pays for itself after 2 fill ups....that alone is worth it to ME

Sam’s Scan & Go is an amazing time saving feature! Plus I know exactly what I’m spending before I get to check out. I hate the lines at Costco. Sam’s is always no line, no wait with Scan & Go!

How about lower membership, lower prices, points for online shipping, and free shipping regardless of amount? Only one less billion for Sam Walton's multi-billion dollar family should cover this. The media is part of the problem, making excuses to sound as if we are still getting a deal with higher prices or less service.

First off, Sam’s club has coupons and Groupons to get your membership for under the normal price and that hasn’t hurt Costco at all, second, Sam’s club stuff is mostly garbage, Costco has better quality packaged food and meat, plus more organic offerings, just depends on how much you don’t care what crap you feed your family, lol

Found out that Sam's stores your card information every time you swipe a card. They aren't telling people they're doing it. Found out about it from a CS person when I returned something. I canceled my membership.

In my area, Sam's Club doesn't have as many different types of laptops as Costco. And Sam's Club doesn't sell Apple laptops.
Edit: Sam's Clubs starts asking for ID's for electronic item returns. Not sure about their criteria to refuse a return.
