Nice video, thank you. I had a CSi between 2007 and 2011 and 160Km / 100 mph was as high as I wanted to take it (empty road late at night).
The limiting factor was the busy engine - being a four speeder - and the wind noise from the window seals on the pillarless coupe window design making significant amounts of noise!
I had the gearbox swapped out with a 5 speed from 635, which was a regular thing apparently, and done by Munich Legeands at the time. This calmed things down a lot and helped cruising and fuel consumption. The window seals were down to the age of the car and so be it.

I can relate to what you said about the frame/pilarless windows. My E24 6-series does this too. They are comfortable towards 100-120km/h, above that there's noise. I have occationally witnessed them being sucked out of the gasket at autobahn speeds. They literally bend because of the low pressure outside of them. I believe the way they are recessed in the body causes this, as cars with flush mounted windows seems to suffer less.

      Cheers from Southern California 🇺🇸...
One of my favorite Cars ever...
BMW as a whole are the best Overall Brand in my opinion...
Porsche being a stand alone of Greatness...
      I don't yet own one "BMW" ...
I stayed with my Passion for Late 60s era Dodge Dart,,
Two actually, hers is still inline 6, mine was 5.3 liter "318" swapped 9 years ago...
I worked a lot with achieving correct ride height, to create a "more" stable ride at speeds up to 110mph /177kph ..
In a 1968 Dart, getting Air over the"hood" was the key to "minimal " down force, at stock ride height, air gets pushed under the car.. creating lift..
My goal will be to hit 130mph and more.. after more engine work..
      Keep on wrenching folk's

The badge in the centre of the steering wheel should be an BMW badge and not a alpine. The CSL is a much better car hence why it was the first M car, the car that saved BMW.

A 3.0 CSi is not a CSL. Nothing wrong with having an Alpina-badged steering wheel in a 3.0 CSi.

@@blackprince7510 read my reply correctly. The CSL is a much better car.

@@davebanks4924 The way you wrote your comment, it seems to say that a CSi is somehow devalued by an Alpina badge. It isn't.
The CSL comment was something of a non sequitur, given it did not logically follow from your first.
Of course the CSL is a better car than a CSi but it isn't really much better. Top speed is roughly the same and the 0-100 km/h time is about 0.6 seconds better. It is also significantly more expensive and not really any better looking.
Neither the CSL nor any M car saved BMW. The model that saved BMW from bankruptcy following the war was the BMW Isetta. This was followed by the Neue Klasse, which truly ensured the company's solvency.
