Recommend a follow up video: 2 Genie + strategies: booking LL's for "right now" versus stacking them all day until you have 4-5 back to back in the evening (up to 7 if you have Individual ones booked too). We have done both and there are definite pros and cons for each strategy.
What’s the cons? Theres only 1 ride and a meet and greet in the morning I want at Epcot but that seems like a good plan for after nap time
The person playing the slots will always get more done more quickly. That's not to say stacking isn't a good strategy, too - it's just that it is better for very specific scenarios where you want to focus on other things earlier in the day. If your plan is just rides and attractions at one park, you are always better off playing the slots than stacking. We could do a video to illustrate the point, maybe. Thanks for the suggestion! 👍

Just got home from a 4 night stay at WDW. Your videos are so helpful and entertaining, just like Epcot Centre used to be. Infotainment. We used G+ in MK and got 10 lightning lanes. It’s all about that strategy. In Epcot got all 3 of the big ones. Remy, Frozen and Test Track. Thanks for all your joyful and informative videos.
Love watching your videos and seeing Erick more! We went last year during Spring Break, and we crushed Genie+ and got on all the "big" rides because of your tips and tricks!
We are going back in August this year. I would love to see stragey for Genie+ that the rides are close together in the parks. I dont know the lay of the land so much. If I knew what rides were close together, that would be awesome. With that knowledge and playing the slots, that would be a winning combo for sure. As you know, time is so precious in Disney!

Great video! You are the best blogger I've seen to describe Genie + in ways we can all understand, including all the pro tips and tricks! Thanks to your description of the refresh button as a slot machine, we have come to love playing the Disney Genie Slots as a game rather than see Genie Plus as work or frustrating. Sometimes I play the slots while waiting for an appointment, even when I'm not going to the parks (just to see the return times change to earlier)! One thing I might have missed in this video, did you mention how on the modify screen you can lose the better time on the "Confirm your party" screen? That's important. One other pro tip: (at 45:00) when you remove someone from your party on a LL, it changes when that person can book again, which can throw that person off the booking schedule that the rest of the party has, which can make it tough to book future LL's for the whole party. That happened to us, so we just kept everyone in the party and had the person who didn't want to ride tap in and then meet us after the ride (which admittedly is a pain for rides with 2 tap points). Thanks for putting these videos out!
I love that you play the slots when you're not at Disney World. 😂 I sometimes do, too. As for canceling someone from a LL, that should only affect their ability to book with the rest of the group if you choose to book something else for them. Otherwise, they should immediately be free to book (assuming the ride they were canceled from was the most recent ride booked) and everyone else is free to book once they all tap in. For cases where you are using the 2 hour rule and you remove someone, they just need to wait until everyone is free to book again and then all book together. If it worked differently than that for you, it was likely an error and a Cast Member at the blue guest experience umbrellas should be able to sort it out for you. Thanks for watching! 😃

We just got back from WDW. I watched Rob several times before I went in November but I was more careful before this last trip. Thanks to these videos, I got about 4 more lightning lanes than I would have gotten on the rides that are the hardest to get. This guy knows his Genie + stuff. Play those Genie Slots.

I really like the way you present the information you are providing. I have an idea that I think might be popular with folks. You clearly know your way around all the Disney parks and I'm thinking that it would be helpful if someone (you) made videos that provided novices (like me) with some ability to navigate within each park. I don't get to spend much time there and when I am in the parks I almost always feel lost. Feeling lost is not a good feeling. Your videos have made me feel more comfortable navigating Genie+, now I need to get comfortable navigating the parks. I am trying to study the maps in advance of my next visit but I was thinking perhaps you could teach folks how to navigate the parks just like you teach us to navigate Genie+. Thanks so much.
We leave in car to Disney World tomorrow, so great timing with the video ! We are on the fence if we are going to do Genie+. Instead, we are planning on doing the after hours event at Magic Kingdom Monday. Less stressful, and should be a great date night for me and the wife. Your videos are so well done and informative.

24:00 THANK YOU! I did not know you could do that, and I have done several trips to WDW successfully using Genie+ without knowing that. But it was always a frustration that I couldn’t pin selections to the top after park hopping. Wish I would’ve known that before, but at least I know it now
Just completed our first day at the parks using Genie + and more importantly the Genie Slots.... it works so so well... we had lots of luck but never would have known about it if it wasn't for your tips 😊.... we're staying in Saratoga and on our back to our room passed someone I thought was Rob but chickened out saying hello!!

That's a tough one. Right now, I would start in Epcot so I could book the VQ for Guardians in the AM and watch Fantasmic! at the end of the night in Hollywood Studios instead of Luminous over at Epcot. If you haven't seen either one, I'd say Fantasmic! is better.
Love your videos Rob, wish I had see you while I was there. I rode Star Tours 4 times this week and I got Ashoka ending each time, her projection in the middle 3 times and Andor projection once. Never got to see Mando.

I’ve being watching several videos in prep for my family trip on July, but yours are the best. 1 question: the individual lighting lane, if I tap on it, it counts as the most recent lightning lane so I can book a new one? (I.e: I book tron, through individual lighting lane, and go there and get the ride, would it make me the lighting lane selection available in genie +, so I can book another one?)

I have a question... back in the days with fastpass you could modify, pick the most early time showed as a suggestion and repeat that process until you had the time you wished for. Is that still the case? Do you get the first available at the day at the slots or is it still like it was?
It will always show you the earliest available time. You can book a time and keep modifying it to try to get an earlier or later time, but each time you refresh, you will always see the earliest available time. Unfortunately, there is no way to configure it to show later times, you just have to keep checking and/or refreshing until later times pop up. Does that answer your question? I'll be honest, it's been so long since I used FastPass+ now that I think I often mix things up with how Genie+ works.
Hello Ear Scouts, we're from the UK and absolutely love your videos. You helped make our first family Disney visit in Feb the best it could be.
One gotcha we found with Genie+ was to make sure you pay attention to any time changes between clicking on a return time, then confirming it on the next page. We got caught out not paying attention and accidentally moved our time to later in the day 😢
You can go to the cast members under the umbrellas and they will help you correct your user error. Of course it’s up to their discretion, and they can say no, but I’ve never had problems (just be polite)

Hi, I enjoy your videos. Do you have any insight lightning lane and rider swap?
We'd be a party of 5 (2 adults, 2 kids and one 2 yr old) if we had a lightning lane can 2 of us have to tap in first or do we have to set up rider swap? Not that it would happen at every ride but there are a few.
There's another or for booking your next ride. Say you got a genie+ for haunted Mansion at 10am and the ride is down at 10am and they change your genie+ to a multi attraction experience then you can instantly book another genie+ cause it freed up your original haunted Mansion genie+
Edit: NM just saw your end remarks 😂 Definitely the best video by far to help people understand genie+. I really hope Disney switches back to the 90 day advanced selections like it was in the old fast pass days.

I love this and feel better for our upcoming trip! This will be our first time. I still do have a question, how do you stop to enjoy Disney without feeling like you’re running from ride to ride if they are on opposite ends of the park?
We did a series of videos called "Practically Perfect Day" where we focused on balancing Genie efficiency with enjoying the parks and did a lot less criss-crossing. We offered some tips in those videos to help with that. In this video, I was really just choosing rides that would allow me to show certain things about using the service. I definitely wouldn't recommend following my path in this video unless your goal is to create confusing Genie situations. 😂

You can - Lightning Lane return times are available right up until park close (but not during Extended Evening Hours). Just make sure you book your last ride at least 30 minutes before the park closes because they shut down the ability to book at the very end of the night.

Can you get a lighting lane at 7am and then the 2 hours goes by and at 9 you can get another one? Or does that 2 hour cooldown start when the park opens

I found Magic Kingdom the most difficult to navigate, especially with genie plus. 😔 All of the other parks, this system & these tips worked seamlessly!
I have a question but it’s not related to this video. I watched one of your other videos about a different entrance to Epcot the international gateway I believe it was called. Is it possible to get to that entrance while staying at port Orleans riverside? I wasn’t sure if you can drive to a different resort in the morning to catch a ride on the skyliner
Hi Greg! The only way to use Disney transportation to get there from Port Orleans would be to take the bus to Hollywood Studios and then take the skyliner, boat or walking path over to Epcot. You could also get a Lyft to take you to Boardwalk and then walk over from there. Hope you have a great vacation!

I don't think so. It always gives me the option to purchase for any of the 4 parks or the hopper - even when I have a park pass for a specific park. So yes, you could just buy HS and start in AK.

Love, love, love all these tips and tricks. Question: If me and my husband will be together, should we create and sign in to 2 different app accounts, but link them? Reason I'm asking, if we are both refreshing (Disney slots) and trying to get better times, but we are both signed in on our phones to the same account, are we canceling each other out or will it not work for some reason? Hopefully that makes sense. TIA.
Hi Kelly! I think it is always best practice to sign into different accounts that are linked together. Even then, it is possible to cancel each other out, but I have found that more recently, it seems to be more tolerant of multiple people booking at the same time and as long as one of you doesn't "confirm" the LL, it won't usually cancel the other time like it used to.
I would love to see how many sets of ears are in Rob's collection!

Say I edit my riders for a particular ride from 7 riders to 4 riders. When I go to book my next ride will it default back to 7 riders or will it be the 4 riders from my last selection?
Can you ride as many rides for lightning lane with genie plus as you want? I heard you can only book 2-3 for the day..

QQ - You say "After you tap in at the most recently booked LL".
Just wanted to clarify the recently part. So lets say I booked LL #1 at 7 am with a return time of 11:15 am. Then I booked LL #2 at 11 am with a return time of 7 pm. When I tap into LL #1 at 11:15 am, I will NOT be allowed to book LL #3 since what I tapped into isn't my most recently booked LL (that would be LL#2). Is that accurate?
Also, is there any way to see how many LLs you did and in what order you got them from a previous trip? Maybe somewhere in the mydisney app or website?
