I love how Alec always teaches us lessons in the form of songs. It’s so comforting. This song actually helped me realize that my friend turned out to be toxic, and I was brushing off the signs. I didn’t realize how much they affected me. My mental health was low for four years. Now, I’m recovering, and trying to get back up again. It’s so amazing what one song can do.
Edit 3 weeks later (which felt like forever): I was recovering really fast, at an unbelievable pace, and then, everything shattered. Again. I’m now worse than I started, but I’m ready to improve. Hopefully I recover for good.
Edit a month later: With the help of friends, I am slowly healing. I still have a lot to go through, but I feel way better than before.
Ten months:
I’m doing great. I have a girlfriend who treats me so well, and I got a whole new friend group and I am so much happier. I am so thankful for the support from everyone.
About five months in recovery I started getting really depressed, and I did attempt scuicide. But I am so glad my friends helped me get back up and I am so glad that I am still here.
That’s such a normal phase that happens when you get out of an abusive relationship (no matter the type) and it’s never talked about, when I left my ex I was surprised and super happy at how well I was doing and recovering then one day, I felt a wave of thoughts and negativity crashing down my brain and went through one of the worst periods of my life, that’s exactly when you start healing the right way 🤍 I wish you so much love and happiness in your journey 🤍
Alec isn’t a artist anymore he’s a story teller he’s a therapist he’s an inspiration speaker like fam he’s making me cry! Songs don’t make me cry!

Well, dear Jesse, please don't write off your dad just coz he's messed you up. He's human as well and maybe what he's doing now is a result of the toxicity he himself went thru as a young man and maybe he had no one to talk to or one to help him thru it all and he became that worse that you think you don't need him. In actual sense, you do need him for you wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for him. You carry part of him in you so you represent him at some point.
But you can choose to heal anyways coz you never know, maybe you'll one day be his source of inspiration to start his own healing process. It's not easy. It's tough but you only have to promise yourself that you're going to keep loving him no matter how bad he can become.
I believe you're an amazing human so don't allow what you're facing to make you become toxic my dear. The world needs people with a good and kind heart like you. Please heal and help the world see life in the right perspective.

Alec has helped through my rough times, especially with this song. I grew up with a father who never cared about me and growing up I kept giving him chances until at a very young age I opened my eyes seeing who he really is. At the age of 21 I blocked him out of my life and now on the road to recovery, healing my mental state that he has taking a toll on my whole life.

2 years ago I met a man and was everything toxic and bad, a healer who couldn't heal himself but he's changed alot, learnt to forgive himself, love himself more, Joined the gym... He had childhood traumas that made him so bitter and hate the world, he wasn't the devil, he was just a kid who wanted to be loved, noticed, cared for, shown affected, trusted, treated as a pride , encouraged, stayed loyal to, he's the best thing that's happened to me, we are more of friends than lovers, I love him soooo so much. I believe in him. He even prays to God now... Let's remove the evil to turn the devil into the angel it was by loving, accepting, changing not drastically but patiently

I love that many musics are not just for entertainment and for teaching people lessons, and to whoever has been in a bad situation can listen to music which supports them and really just makes people feel comfortable again. That Is one of the reasons that I love music, because even though sometimes or many times I'm not in the situation it represents, I still love the comfort that some of them give with supportive or kind messages. The melody also is a really important feature for people to feel comfortable listening to music. After saying all of this, I gotta say this music fits this description really well. Of course some other songs also do but I gotta give this one some congratulations, cause it is fire🔥 and still teaches us a lesson
