- China has strongly opposed the U.S. Resolve Tibet Act recently signed by US President Joe Biden urging Beijing to address Tibet’s demands for autonomy. Drawing a sharp reaction from China, underscoring that it will “firmly defend” its interests.
Last month, a group of US delegates including former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Michael McCall, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee along with a few other US lawmakers visited India to meet the Dalai Lama. This has brought the issue of Tibet’s autonomy back into focus.
In this exclusive interview, former Indian diplomat, Dilip Sinha whose book 'Imperial Games in Tibet: The Struggle for Statehood and Sovereignty' released on 16th July speaks to Abhishek Singh, Deputy Editor, Mint about what the recent developments mean for US-China, India-China relations, and the future of Tibet.

How one forget USA gave the Green Light Tibet part of China under KMT Republic of China in 1946, then was return to the people under China People Republic of China in 1949 thanks to USA support in staying out of Civil War.
