- A throwback to 2005 as Rangers secure the SPL title on Helicopter Sunday. Celtic went into the final day of the season sitting in pole position but ended up losing out to Old Firm rivals Rangers. Motherwell star Scott McDonald scored a late double at Fir Park to beat the Hoops and hand the title to Alex McLeish's side. This clip features crazy scenes of celebration from Easter Road as news filtered through of the scoreline in Motherwell.

In Argentina a similar event occurred last year between Boca and River. River had to win Atletico Tucuman on the last match but draw 1-1. Boca won Gimnasia de La Plata from home 1-0 and came out champion.

Funny enough I felt exactly the same when Rangers basically bought the league we would buy a player just to play in one or two games or simply buy the player from hibs ect simply to make a game easier to win I truly hated those days prefer it if somehow there was four to eight teams that could win the league but I guess that will never work sadly

it would be nice too hearts hibs an rangers back but the last couple seasons in the premiership have been good viewing without them, but lets hope the well stay up first, it wouldn't be the same without them.

I don't know why people are saying Scottish football needs rangers for the competition, it's not as if this is the rangers of old they aren't a good team anymore and will need at least 2 season to get on their feet in the spl again. Aberdeen gave celtic the nearest competition in years even with rangers being there.
***** Aye and they were humped twice by Dundee United,didn't even get a shot on target against celtic pumped by qots twice, only narrowly beating them in the play offs. I didn't say anything about the finances of Scottish football I was just talking about the competition, rangers won't be able to put up a fight in the spl for at least 2-3 seasons and probably won't be able to challenge for the title until 4-5. Aberdeens points total this year has been the highest in ages even when rangers were in the spl, I'm pretty sure it was even higher than hearts that year they finished second.
Aye that Celtic game was when the worst rangers team in history we're at their lowest form. This worst rangers side has beaten stop 6 SPL opposition in the cups over the past 3 seasons. we are coming.
