This is indicative of an issue: Star Rail has far too many 5 Stars and not enough 4 Stars to balance them out.
A lot of people care more about 5* characters anyway. If they make the new banner have different 4* characters then it'll be good for E6-ing them
Why is that a problem though?
agree : something like 16 new 5* per year is a lot and it means older v1 characters may take a while to come back.
It is an issue for new (or recent) comers having already missed reruns for characters like Ruan Mei or Kafka who are key in their respective playstyle (Break / DoT).
Either these playstyles are locked away for them or amongst this plethora of 5* there would be powercreeps/replacements. If Hoyo does not want to take this route, then either slowing down on the release of new 5* or introducing a 3rd banner are solutions. We also heard about "skins" for older characters which could be a way to make an old thing look new.
@@wallnut7624bc it’s impossible to keep up with and makes choosing who to pull (especially in a game like hsr where the meta is based around whoever has come out most recently) even harder for f2p?
If the older characters are available to pull more frequently, that’s a good thing. (Unless they gothe Genshin route and pity doesn’t carry over to the next banner. That was incredibly shitty thing about the otherwise ok regional banners. But I have faith in HSR)
Of course a f2p or even a low spender can’t get everyone in every banner but that’s already how it is. We always have to choose who we want the most. Having more banners to choose from doesn’t change that.
It would be better to have a new form of currency for the third banner, one that doesn't use stellar jades.
Problem is however if there are multiple characters you actually need. For example if you want a FUA team and you have both Aventurine and Robin in one banner is a nightmare.

@@lAzurely it’s because the average f2p would get at least 1 5 star a patch. Adding in a new currency allows for a way to get an additional 5 star without having to worry about stellar jades through the triple banner.
If you are talking about the Ode banner, then yes, it was really crappy pity didn't transfer over to another banner.
If you meant "in general," I wanted to tell you that pity for limited and standard banners always transfers over to the new banner just like HSR. And I think it remembers pity up to a year now.
The only banner that doesn't remember pity is the weapon banner. That banner is a scam and I will continue to complain about it until I die. Esp for f2p players.
Personally, I hope its like Snowbreak currently, where you get to pick one of the rerun banners, but once you pick, the choice is sealed in. So it would still be only 2 banners to pull from, not 4. But with more choices, which is nice.
I think that's what will happen, but it would be a nightmare for spender I guess

Good things if we want to focus E6 our favourite character but the question is always is it worthed to E6 old character while there is always better and powercreep character coming out every patch
I would rather be thankful if they reset 200 selection standard banner
It is worth if it's your favourite, i still use e0 clara to clear every end game content, u don't need 0 cycle anything, so limited char at e6 will be always usable
E6 character will most likely last the whole game especially if it’s penacony or after
@@greenvega me too, clara is fun.. I dont even think to pull yunli, but I really wish to E6S5 maybe E1S5 or at least E0S5 my Robin, still questioning is it really worthed... Robin E6S5 hits like a truck (300k 8 times) but the price really high.. Even E0 Lingsha can do constant 150-200k alone (hmc ult though)

This will make it easier for f2p to E6 their favorite units because characters will reappear sooner and more frequently.

- E0S1’s: Sparkle, Jing Yuan, Robin, Fu Xuan
- E1S1’s: Jingliu, Ruan Mei, Firefly
- E2S1’s: Aventurine
- E6S1’s: Acheron
So yeah, skipped Topaz, Boothill, Jade, Argenti. Am skipping Yunli, Huohuo, Sparkle rerun. I’m gonna pull Jiaoqiu though. Pull Ratio’s lc. Skip Feixiao. Still hesitant on Lingsha, the Firefly team is really fun.
I didn’t get E2 Firefly coz that’s overkill. No joke I used her in gold and gears today (torturous difficulty). And she attacked NINE times in a row! The other day in Divergent Universe, she attacked SEVEN times in a row, TWO times in that battle.
Jingliu coz i like her. Ruan Mei coz def ignorance is crazy. Aventurine coz he’s SP positive and more debuffs for acheron. Acheron coz ppl theorised “1 year anni” “raiden mei is their favourite character so ofc itll be the most busted” “she wont be powercrept”. Now looking back, I would have pulled E1 Robin, at the time i was so hesitant to even get her or her light cone. I’ll probably pull Luocha’s lc on rerun just for the completionist/aesthetic purposes, i just didnt pull it at the time coz i had S5 Perfect Timing.
@ghotyolocanisyn2880 Yeah, eidolons on prior supports and dps(not sustains those are questionable) will always be stronger than having to invest horizontally. Especially when with vertical investment, you'll be able to clear content a lot better which means you can save your pulls to pull whoever you want for fun
As long as they don't reset the guaranteed, it's all fine. If they do, i'll not hesitate to use my guaranteed in Sparkle's rerun.
I'm ok with it tho. As long as it's only one new banner and the other 2 is rerun.

Don’t say that. With how many 5 stars we got, and how unique some are (topaz and kafka for instance) it is necessary to increase the amount of banners by at least one. Otherwise we’ll see each character once a year, and it’s harder in star rail to just rely on one all purpose team like in genshin (unless acheron)
Soon 4 banners in one half wont be enough as there are 2 new characters every patch lol

its great tho think about it if you want to focus on dot character but dont have kafka now you can summon for her and her light cone same with fua (topaz) i belive they are the only one that are worth summoing for if ruan mei not in it too.
its a good thing to have more banners since you won’t have to wait as long for reruns even if that mean not having as long to save
That doesn't change the fact that we F2P Players can only pull 1 character per patch. It just gives us the chance to get characters' rerun quickly

I certainly would like a system that makes reruns faster (or deals with them in a different way), 2nd reruns will take forever to come, and they don't stop releasing new characters at every patch
Wish they could do the dorm supply in honkai impact like when year after a character releases they put them in dorm supply so you can pull the old characters there

Reruns can cycle through faster and if you even miss the one you want it wont be as long for a return
The ability to get older characters quicker is amazing since I just started playing hsr recently and just missed the Firefly and Ruan - Mei banners. So getting any of the really good characters from those banners and beyond would be cool.
I’ve been saving my tickets ever since Jade rn I’m at 96 tickets for the Acheron and Aventurine banners and might get to 140ish. I lost 50/50 to aventurine and didn’t have enough tickets for Acheron, but I am ready this time. I MIGHT wait for Jiaoqiu or my gacha impulsivity will get the best of me and make me pull for him…
Jiaoqiu is pretty much useless without acheron, aventurine is better option imo

Assuming the format and pity system is the same this is a massive W because it'll mean characters return more often.

So here's the thing.
You don't NEED the fancy new Limited 5 star that does 50 gigasharts of damage in one attack, especially if they're a parasitic character hog like Firefly.
When you pull for a character in Star Rail, you're pulling for the account, not a team comp. Pulling for a Huohuo or a Fu Xuan or a Ruan Mei will benefit your entire account a lot more than the shiny new DPS that'll get powercrept in 6 months.

I've been playing for under a year. I skipped Acheron and Aventurine to pull for, and I'm not joking, Kafka, Black Swan, Sparkle, Fu Xuan, Boothill, Ruan Mei, and Huohuo, and I'm a BP/Pass player at most.
If that’s real, it means that f2ps like myself will have a chance to grab some characters that they couldn’t get before over new limited ones. It’s actually pretty good, well just have to see if the banner pity is shared :))

once a character already have a rerun. there viability already decrease or have more better option already.

I seriously hope they won't actually implement this(not surprised if they do though.) It'll be disastrous for F2Ps, especially considering how op/popular charas are released frequently (with op eidolons)... it'll be forcing ppl to top up, even with increased rewards.
Problem is that they keep releasing new 5* every 20 days. That's like 17 5* a year.
Because of this we will end up with 5* characters who will take months potentially years to rerun
It will be good. The characters you want will return faster

I don't see how this forces you to do anything, it just gives more choice and a chance to get more reruns of older characters.
@dylans3833 That's the problem, what if you have 2 characters you really need all at once? That's why this is a nightmare, it means you have to skip out on one of them and then you gotta wait for that character to have another rerun

Now ppl can finally stop saying “seele rerun banner is gonna come before [insert character who hasnt had a rerun yet]’s banner”. This is perfect, since there’s so many characters. It feels like an eternity before your character you want comes back.
Or they could just have a store for older characters. At the very least ones that have had 2 banners.
yeah like ToF did, i mean Jingliu and DHIL barely keeping up now, there s no point pulling in their rerun, might as well put them in Standard banner and made their dupe available to be bought.

@@AhaxD-r7g because if you remember, when the livestream about tightnari banner, it’s has a small line saying this character will go to standard so it’s teased before that tighnari will go to standard banner, I don’t know if it’s has anything to do with the chna laws or not because i see others game do it too, but i do think it’s connected with something else

if you do all the events for this patch, and your dailies, you get 70-80 pulls for this version.

@@ThePinkyuu since that’s the average amount of pulls you get per patch, you can save. if you’re truly f2p, you’re not gonna try and get every single limited 5 star + their signature lc. you’re going to try and optimize your account, so naturally, you’ll save for the character and lightcone you really want. that’s all i was saying
I'm F2p and I've skipped several banners to get light cone and character. And got lucky. But sometimes ppl need to just don't pull.
F2p sometimes means that you won’t pull for a lot of characters to get what you want, I don’t see why that should change if they release a triple banner. Older characters that you want rerun faster and more frequently, you’re not obligated to pull for every character every patch. If you do as a f2p that’s a you problem

this is bad, i realize after i pull for Jingliu instead of Acheron, i was new, and ppl recommend me to pull JL cuz ez to build, which i regret, rerun character value in HSR is abysmal except Harmony unit.
They also started to keep releasing incomplete kit, like ever since DHIL u had to get E2 to make the unit comfortable. it becomes ToF-like powercreep but with less reward, and they didnt even put old char into standard banner, or made their dupe buyable. they also didnt rework/buff the old char like FGO, and u ll struggle to use Old char for new content cuz the meta ll shill new unit.
They always said disaster for an f2p nobody force you to play the game.developer need money to run their company

In HSR right now im skipping the entire 2.4 just for Feixiao(must pull) and Linsha(not must), the main prize is waiting for Acheron rerun that is where the real deal. Raiden verse is also one of the reason i start HSR after hear Acheron true name
Pardon me, but don't you need Jiaoqiu for Acheron's team? I mean, it's not mandatory to have him but it'll make your life easier, unless you intend to have her E2 during her rerun

Why would you want to pull for 4 limited characters every half patch. This literally doesn’t change anything compared to the current system except characters rerun faster and more frequently, you just have the option to choose between 3. If you can’t get a 2nd unit you wanted in this sub-banner, wait for the next rotation, which I repeat, is literally what you’re doing with the current system. If you pull for as many characters as there are banners as a f2p, that’s a you problem
