    Came across your channel last night for the splash droplet animation. I just decided yesterday to get back into Ae (after 5 years) which means I'm super newbie. Amazing videos and fantastic channel! Maybe I shouldn't be such a newbie haha. I was struggling to keep up when you sped up all the animation duplications - I'll get it done though, slowly 😉 Thanks for all your help!

    Hey, Manuel. Thanks for this Grid tutorial. Can you please explain what the length() function do?

    • @ManueldoesMotion
      @ManueldoesMotion  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It determines the distance between two points.

    Absolutely love the Reactive Grid section 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽!!! I've used that expression rig to create a line of reactive triangles. Is there any way to constrain the scaling to the anchor point of the triangles which in my case is centred on the base? At the moment the anchor point of each triangle moves when the marker is close and doesn't stick to the base. Any help gratefully received :)

      Thanks very much! That’s awesome. You probably want to pin the anchor point to the base? So that it sticks to it? I explain it in this video:

    Hey Manuel! Love your channel and your tutorials, I think you are wonderful! I have a question please - when I try the expression for scaling a layer based on the distance form a different layer it works, but when I duplicate the layers like you've shown, they all scale at the same time like the original layer. Why is this happening please? Thank you so much.

      @ManueldoesMotion  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! That’s so great to hear! That shouldn't be possible. Have you set the Expressions Engine to Java Script in your project settings? That might be a reason.

      @@ManueldoesMotion Thank you for your replay. I think I just wrote the expression wrong, I tried it again now and it works, so everything is as it should be! :)
      Thanks again and keep making this awesome videos Manuel!

    If you have a shape layer layer that you animated its Y size and want to glue another small shape layer to its bottom line stroke so when the stroke animates from the middle of the screen all the way down the small shape follows that line. Can do a quick to tutorial on how to achieve this with expressions. Thanks alot

    • @ManueldoesMotion
      @ManueldoesMotion  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you could use the Create Nulls from Paths script and use the Trace Path option. That creates a Null object. Then link the shape to the Null object.

      Unfortunately I'm working with rectangular shape and converting it to bezier does not work for since I'm animate the Y value of the size property, I guess the only way to achieve it is with expressions

      There’s probably a typo in your expression.
