It's very good. I'll have a build guide up in a few days for my Rakiata's Smite Slayer. I'm using Heatshiver + Yoke + double Call of The Brotherhood for full lightning>cold>fire action. Sitting around 20 mil DPS and 6.4k life with around 25 divs invested. Using Utula's Hunger to fix all life problems. The sword is definitely powerful. Not really worth messing with ways to increase enemy resistance in my opinion. The mod is plenty strong on its own, doesn't need anything else, just pump damage. Also, be sure to roll any boss invites that can be rolled with +ele res for a massive damage boost.
Actually looking forward to this, been blasting on Impending Doom but dropped the sword doing trials and want to try it out. Haven't made a duelist in like 8 leagues so I'm hype!! Any other items I should look to grab?
Hey Lance, have you explored the possibility of spellblade or battlemage? Since it doesn't say it only applies inverted res with weapon attacks, it might be possible to be used with a spell.

i actually got 1 that had 1016 total dps, it had the highest edps in the market(including offline). sold it yesterday for 5d for just having 6 sockets. :D
although it's good for leveling, you're better of investing in a 7 league steps, a tabula and a replica tasalio sign or 2(100 flat wed on a lvl20 ring). There is no much added wed so early that you want a weapon with actually high attack speed for the campain.
Use all three of those... *And* Rakiata's Dance. You may have misunderstood lance a little - he's not claiming it's a great weapon purely for levelling, he's pointing out how early you can start to use it while levelling the character that'll be using it in the endgame as well.
It would have to specify that it works on ailments to work on them because ailments do not check what weapon you are wielding while doing their damage per tick. It would have to be a debuff applied to the enemy that flips their resistance, which is not how the sword works
you wouldn't pump your res to 90 for Doryani's Prototype would you? negative res cap is already -200, so presumably if you invert 200% (overcap by 125%) you reach -200%.

You simply have much better options for RF and probably most spell builds. A good caster set will give you +3 spell level and 100% damage increase. It triples to quadruple your damage, and penetration is cheap (exposure on the gloves is basically free).
I mean as far as 2 handed elemental weapons go, its actually a bit more interesting than the Void forge. The only issue is that its easier to scale elemental damage with the Templar. When I wanted to try and do an Ice Crash slayer and go for full freeze. I am hoping that Duelist gets some Elemental damage nodes in future so that he isn't always limited to physical, because all the good 2h nodes are by his side of the tree.
Critical strike afliction assassin? To profit from wither twice. Shame that cant go block. Evasion/dodge is so good with block. The tankiest build I ever did was cap evasion and 60% block with some elusive. Feels like immortal. With that much damage could lean in more defensive/clearing investments

A Blizzard Crown could be an idea, couldn't it? "Your Hits treat Cold Resistance as 10% higher than actual value". I don't know if it works as I think it does though.
Really like the low level requirement since replaying the campaign hundreds of times is one of the more annoying parts of poe, especially if you want to play a skill that isn't good for leveling.

Also very nice for invitations. Just roll them with ele res and endurance charges and get - 52% res on the enemie.
Same with altars; lots of the downsides are just giving enemies tons of armor and resists.

It's counter-intuitive. It's actually coded as negative penetration, so whatever your penetration is minus 10. It does not alter the enemy resistance.
