    → DEWALT 60V 12'' Sliding Miter Saw Bare Tool DCS781B - imp.i284638.ne...
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
DEWALT did more than an update to the FlexVolt 12" miter saw, they totally redesigned this miter saw to have more power, more features, more power and the best dust collection we have ever had on any miter saw we have ever tested. In our opinion, this is the smoothest, most accurate, and easiest-to-use miter saw on the market. This saw is worth every penny and DEWALY is pretty proud of this saw!
DEWALT claims 255 cuts in pressure-treated 4 x 4 Lumber; in our testing, it will do that and more! We had to mix it up and switched to 2 x 10 lumber and even some trim and we were well over 300 cuts in before the light blinked letting us know we were near the end of our 9Ah FlexVolt batteries charge.
Feature-wise, the new DEWALT DCS781 has the most intuitive and well-thought-out buttons and knobs on the market. Each item works as it should and creates a simple and easy-to-use saw for the professional. Interestingly, The new DEWALT FlexVolt Miter saw has Regenerative Braking Technology. This means that the motor that supplies the braking for the blade returns that lost energy back into the battery. We do not know how many cuts are gained by this technology, but this saw has an amazing runtime.
DEWALT claims Up to 94% of dust captured when cutting 2x10 SPF using DWV015 Dust Extractor. We used the DEWALT StealthSonic wet-dry vacuum and the Standard AirLock port compatible with standard 1-7/8 in. & 2-1/2 in. wet/dry vacuums and believe we had very similar results. We have never made over 300 cuts with any other saw in our shop and had little to no sawdust on use and very little on the saw. There was not enough on the floor to even sweep up and our vacuum was nearly 1/2 full. The dust collection is simply unbelievable.

I picked this saw up as soon as it was available. Took my time making sure to tune it up to be perfect. It was really close out of the box. This thing is awesome. The only drawback I have with mine is I don't get to use it as much as I want to and after bringing it home, my wife doesn't let me go to Home Depot alone

This saw th-cam.com/users/postUgkx84IcU5pbZd1Qrz8u4-YRLmJax7kdRi7B comes in handy in many ways. When I had a small (dead) tree fall I started the process of disposal by using this saw and cutting off the small branches. Then slowly work on the small trunk with undercutting and letting it fall down. With many trees on acres of land paying for a tree service can be expensive. It also is nice in that it can be used in hard to get areas like along my creek. It's also safer and quieter than a chainsaw. It obviously can't cut down massive trees but it does work fine for small ones or brush. And of course since I already own a Black

Makita user here who nearly bought the original DeWalt 120v version. If there’s a tool DeWalt can tempt me with, it’s their 12” miter saws. The 120v was (still is?) extremely expensive and I ended up finding a fantastic deal on the 36v 10” Makita miter saw, so I got it.
I’m still VERY tempted with this yellow machine though, this new model a clear upgrade over the last. Shame about the price though… I might have to get by with my (still excellent but only 10”) Makita unit.

The way you carry a dialog with the camera is very fluid. We’ll done.
As for the saw - I just bought the 12” makita 40v - blade wobble out of the box - they wanted me to bring to a service center for a week rather than send mw a blade. The thing is SO heavy - and their rolling stand is no equivalent to the dewalt one.
Returning this weekend and going with this dewalt. Only $200 more than current price on the dws780 - and it’s got better dust collection by the looks of it.

Nice review! I like the single battery aspect of this but also like the ability to plug the old one in. I have a DCS780 and the cordless 7 1/4, thinking of replacing the 7 1/4 with this for the added cordless power. How does this compare to the 780? How does this slide the display at HD seems “grittier” than the 780.

Any word on the 60V A/C Power Adapter? After rolling out a single battery / 60v table saw rather than a two battery / 120v to go with the miter saw DeWALT promised a 60v adapter would be available soon! …Still waiting. I usually setup both the slider and chopper on the 723. Outside, on battery I can let the dust fly. Inside I use the A/C adapter to start a CT Mini. DeWALT hasn’t really addressed activating dust collect while on battery.

Have you noticed your battery increase by 1 bar on occasion? I’ve watched mine go from 1 to 2 bars and from 2 to 3 bars many times …. I was confused by that because I expected extend it to just drain the battery slower but not see a physical increase to the life of the battery.

@@juniorbucknor1333 They have one, 20v 7 1/4 DCS361. Used it for years, some of the features on this new saw are the same as that 7 1/4. I used it a lot to cut pvc fence with a siding blade. Great cuts, slightly underpowered but I know those blades dont really cut and take a lot of power. But what annoyed me is they have a 20v 7 1/4 brushless handheld, had it when this miter came out, so why not just use the same motor and give the miter more power?
What really annoys me here is the new saw doesnt have a way to activate their vacuums, even if you had to plug something in - or bluetooth like the flex volt vac. I mean it's annoying to have a cordless saw and they go on and on about their dust collection and then just overlook how to actually turn the vac on and off. On my dcs361 I use a Christmas light cordless switch to turn on my ridgid vac, but its another thing to remember and it should be part of it

Stuff happens we may have got a defective one. A month and a half later we got a new one because there were no parts available to repair it. The new one stopped working after less than two weeks. The service center was rude beyond imaginable. We picked the high road. Still waiting for a response after jumping through hoop after hoop. I understand the service center is over loaded and they didn’t engineer this poor product. I would love for someone from Dewalt to contact me rather then bounce me from USA to Canada and back again.

This felt like a sponsored review over and actual owners review. You keep mentioning the dust control, but guy you have this hooked up to a vacuum. My other 2 flexvolts (dhs716 & dhs790) do well on vacuum too. You talk about the regenerative "charging" saying it works well but you literally 0 basis to quantify that statement. You don't even know if it's working or not. Fwiw I'm on day two of finish carpentry and haven't had to change my 6ah batteries on my dhs716. These batteries are old too. You mention nothing about the power vs the outgoing model(s), nothing about the feel when carrying it.. and probably most importantly you mention nothing about accuracy. Even out of the box accuracy before adjustments.
All you did was praise the saw without any criticism. I'm more inclined to trust the smaller channels that review tools because they seem more honest about what it can and can't do.

My only negative with this saw is the lack of wireless control of the vacuum…. Other than that this saw has been pretty awesome…
My first week with it I did notice something odd…. I used a 9ah battery in it… there were periods of time it would go from 2 bars to 3 bars and 1 bar back to 2 bars on the battery.
It did make me think the recharging effect was real.
I can tell you over a month using it…. Changing out the battery is something you’ll do a whole lot less with this one.

DeWalt did not equip this unit with a 120VAC plug-in feature like the PREVIOUS DHS790. They are GREEDY & want to force customers to buy more batteries. I'll skip this model. They could at least make a 120V AC to 60v FlexVolt battery adapter! Oh yeah, that would cost them battery sales. Perhaps I'll design, build & market one...

The issue is it burns up the motor in the first generation.

You make more power with a 60v battery than a 15 Amp 120v plug. Plain and simple.

Why would you want this tool to be battery powered?

    • @toolman101476
      @toolman101476 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Why wouldn’t you is more of the question I’d have….
Everyone’s working environment can be different…. My or your needs may be different.
Your not sacrificing any power with this saw by it being cordless. Sometimes getting power to your tools can be inconvenient, or maybe you just have a few cuts and you don’t want to get your cord out… or maybe you just want to cut right at your work vehicle and don’t want to drag the saw to another location…
Once you have the convenience of cordless you’d understand it better.
Here is another example…. You have an extension cord with 1 plug. Your swapping tools from your compressor to your saw… that’s annoying… or you get to a job and it either has no power….. maybe the plugs are burnt out on the saw service… or maybe your not the only sub on the job… your having to share power… it’s just nice to have that cordless option….
Now go buy the 60 volt mitersaw and thank me later

It might have the best dust collection and amazing run time. I guarantee you in 6 months the blade will wobble all the pre dent won't line up. I've had 3x flexvolt and 18v miter saws and the are the worst saws I've ever used

The mitre scale is made as a plate for a reason. Order a new one as they wear out. A small price to pay for adjustability

I did not get paid a dime. Look at the saw after 300 plis cuts. Watch my channel more. I do not play the BS games for stupid azz catch phrases. I try to give you the info you need to make a decision on the tool. I stand by this. This is the best dust collection on a miter saw I have ever used. Lol. Look a few videos back at the metabo hpt miter and I talked about what that saws dust collection sucked.
