This work has such a great score. There is no song that I think is bad, and the story and characters are really funny! Why isn't more esteemed in the G and S canon?
I think also because the leads are all such rotten people. Robin and Richard are eager to stab one another in the back, Rose Maybud is a gold digger, Despard is a hypocrite, and Margaret is "a little mad and generally silly." (Dame Hannah, Rupert Murgatroyd, and Adam are a bit more sympathetic but not the major leads.) They're wonderful characters but they're horrible people, which might be an obstacle. On top of that, you have to be familiar with all of the melodrama conventions that it pokes fun at.
Delightfully sung, and some strong actors, but oh, they should have sacked whoever was responsible for the direction/choreography. What the hell were Robin and Adam Goodheart doing prancing about in the background during this duet?

Roxanne .Kateri because it came after the Mikado!
Kind of like how _Pocahontas_ bombed because it came out right after _The Lion King_ , and likewise with _A Bug's Life_ and _Toy Story_ .

Another delightful tongue twister from the Gilbert and Sullivan repertoire. Try any of them when you have 'had a few' !

@wickedfeylady Probably because it came right after the Mikado.
