Eminem, didn’t come back and destroy him in the hip hop way. Em tried to shut the kid out of the game with power, which is foul if you really think about it. So, here we are 6 years later. literally almost every rap legend we have ever had always has their "best" album early in their career. its just a fact. buts thats because we tell ourselves they could never do better than x album. even if em released a better album than MMLP no one would acknowledge it .
I've always wondered if Elton John fans, (just as a random example), argue so much over which of his 30 albums are his best. If people are still comparing his 1970's albums to his latest 2016 release claiming he doesn't sound as good as he did 50 years ago, or wishing he'd go back to that sound, or he's got one more classic in him if he just does this....etc. Haha.
i mean... section 80 was his first official album and a solid one. Then GKMC was his second and it's considered by a lot of people to be his best to date. TPAB was his 3rd and rivals GKMC and then DAMN was really good but not as good as the rest. I think kendrick is really similar to eminem when it comes to his first albums being the best of his catalog: SSLP MMLP and EMINEM SHOW. Ofc we need a few more years worth of music from Kendrick to have a full picture and to compare
I'd say exception to this would be someone like Wayne. He Improved over time. Carter 2 was his best album and that was well into his career at that point.

All Ems songs were was the persona Slim Shady he wore he's owned up and expressed that he's not against gay people or a maniac hate freak.
But lets be honest, professionally it was out of line for MGK to comment on Hailey knowing full well that Em at the time was your superior and knowing even from his songs and interviews he is very protective of his daughter keeping her mostly out of the spotlight and whats worst you were a grown man commenting on the physical appearance of a minor.

Why would he be the same dood 20 years later? It is perspective, in my opinion his new albums are very lyrical and more technical than past albums. Him spitting about being in a struggle at this point would be disingenuous. Songs like "believe" surpass many of his past hits with regards to writing skill and songs like "arose" surpass other songs with regards to imagery and creativity. Not to mention MTBMB is full of verses that are absolute lyrical masterpieces.
I think em's album was trying to get people to respond to him. He's trying to make hiphop what it used to be again.

After making myself sit through this again I'm hearing "You're old, and you're a dweeb for reading the dictionary." Well, let's see: EVERYONE gets old who lives long enough, so the fact that Eminem is still doing his thing after 20+ years says a LOT. Plus, I'm sure reading the dictionary has helped a lot with his lyrical ability, so way to go for being the idiot who makes fun of someone for being smart. The line where he says "I'm sick of you bein' rich and you still mad..." Eminem doesn't rap about first world problems, my dude. He raps about his life, things he's gone through, things he's going through, all of which has had a big impact on his life and who he is as a person, so the money he's made over the course of his career isn't going to make all of that disappear. Then MGK talks about Eminem "yelling at the mic," Eminem has outright said that his music is therapy for him, and in today's day and age where so many people are losing their battles with depression and mental illness, let the man yell at the mic if that's what he wants to do, if that helps keep him on this earth. MGK may have a catchy beat and hook, but that's not what a diss track is about. Eminem didn't have to shoot a video, he didn't add in some weird ass bridge that doesn't go with ANY of the song, and he wasn't trying to do anything but let this guy who is too trigger happy (pun not intended) to be successful, know basically that he needs to focus on being himself, rather than trying to replace someone he will never be, which is Eminem. Em could retire today, and he will have left his permanent mark in the music world. I'm not hating on MGK and whatever he has accomplished in his career, but Eminem isn't 28/29 years old anymore. He's done a lot, and seems to be becoming comfortable with himself at 45 years old. To me, this song just shows how much more MGK still has to learn about life, and what it really takes to be an artist that people will remember.

Where are you getting the rumours about Kamikaze being 2 disks and having those features because that seems very unlikely. Eminem wouldn’t be able to make over 20 quality songs with those levels of features in 8 months and even if he did he would cut it down to 15, put it all on one album and have all the features.
