    From what I understand:
    1. Don't stand still, always stay mobile.
    2. Stop peeking predictably. Counter strafe at varying moments and don't do it too late.
    2. Get info. Jump peeking and jiggle peeking are great for knowing where your opponent is before you engage fully

    • @Slauj
      @Slauj 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Always jump peak first if they shoot u or try to shoot you, thay means they aim close to the edge, meaning U should prob wide swing NG once or twice, once they catch on, start doing close peaks vs them, check the waters, and once they get used to that, now u go back to wide swings, however when u wide swimg and let's say u don't kill in first shot, the do a strafe and have another go, then if u miss again, do another strafe, and so on, however keep in mind to not strafe the same distances and timings/speeds every time and U can even throw in some crouches if U know for sure u gonna hit em. Also, when holding angles, try to understand what the type of person enemy player is. Ego players won't adjust, they will just try the same thing again but from a new angle, people with worse aim will adjust or go somewhere else. And those who adjust to how you peak and actually kill u , well for them you just have to switch up ur approach for and become a me unpredictable.

    Something I struggle with is that in lower elo most people don’t burst strafe, when I get into these fights I usually win, but when I swing I keep getting caught by sprays that reduce my movement speed and I have to hurry and dink them before they land all 4 bullets or lucky-bloom into a headshot. This obviously doesn’t happen a lot and is solved by either jiggling to bait them to start spraying and re-swing while their recoil resets or wide swinging and lining up the head while they chase the spray, but when I swing and get my movespeed reduced I’m bad at calm-adjusting to their head since I know I wont really be able to strafe anymore. I am also bad so this entire situation probably doesn’t make sense to anyone above plat

    • @jhm7170

    IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:
    MY AIM IS WAY BETTER. THAT'S NOT IMPORTANT:
    You should focus on how long it takes them to kill me, not how easily I can kill them.
    You are dying much faster than this in your ranked games, which forces you to rely even more on your aim! If you move more optimally, you will have more time to hit that shot!

    Great video! this is the type of stuff i like broken down by content creators. One thing I disagree/am confused about is after you told them about the peaking/trying to be unpredictable it did feel like even when they were unpredictable you still out aimed them. I feel like yes being smart is a big part of it but on many of the gunfights they just couldn't aim as well.

    • @Woohoojin
      @Woohoojin  ปีที่แล้ว +446

      Absolutely my aim is better!
      The main takeaway here is _they aren't killing me quickly at all_.
      If you're dying quickly in these ELOs - blame your movement!
      If you're taking forever to kill your opponents in those long fights - blame your aim!

Anyway, there's always room for improvements, recently I've been getting stable with headshots, I have trouble most of the times in peeking and predicting where enemies may come in and out though, so this is really helpful! @Woohoojin  ปีที่แล้ว +467

      Hey! I'd like to address your suggestions,
      1. Counterstrafing: I have openly said on stream now many times that I myself do not counterstrafe (accuracy at 0.08s vs 0.09s SOURCE: th-cam.com/video/59-z0DAH-5k/w-d-xo.html
      2. Max Speed: I'm not sure what having this information does for the player? I didn't notice any issues with how these gold students were peeking after I explained the process of mixing up their approach.
      3. Far Wall: Fair play on this one - I definitely should've been more vocal about how I was switching this up. I've brought it up many times to students (you can see this in episode 1 of Silver to Diamond Coaching) but I definitely should've explicitly noted that I was mixing it up here.
      0 malicious intent on my part here when leaving this stuff omitted, my goal is to provide high quality education resources; not flex on lower rated players (which is why you will not see any ranked smurf content on this channel).

    BIGGEST AND BEST tip you can ever give someone, regardless of what theyre trying to improve in: THINK, constantly be thinking about what you are doing, is it smart? Are there better options? For fps games: what are they doing? Why are they doing it? How can i take advantage of that? Just constantly ask yourself questions. Itll take a while before it takes effect but its 1000% better than autopiloting ranked for hours and then being hardstuck and not understanding why. This was very educational for me, as someone whos started out in Valorant and gets really frustrated my tryhards one tapping me and im like, but why? how? aimbot? I never even thought to consider this, and I think its mostly just due to how this game is versus other games. Its different, its also extremely extremely competitive. I can kinda hold my own now, but I think ill use these tips to improve and continue working on the aiming part so that when im peeking and then moving im lined up where I wanna be.

    its the same with fighting games and MOBAs to. A large portion of getting good on those games is movement. Either how you move through the map and map awareness on how your enemies move in MOBAs, andd how you move and control spacing in fighting games. Mastering movement in any type of games is essential, almost its mandatory that you learn how to move.

    Okay this video is very well done but the biggest take away is that after all these tries unless the students gets the perfect one tap, they struggle to get an easy kill against an enemy out in the open who's not really trying to kill them either. They way I see them react to your movement tells me they are not comfortable with their sens, as they don't immediately shoot after strafing which I suppose means they are taking too much time trying to control their crosshair. Aim can get you far in Valorant guys, there are people in Diamond + who just wide swing everything without even having a game plan and it works. Find your sensitivity before you start doing anything else.

    Along with aim and movement I also have the problem that I don't move or aim in (normal) matches the same way I do in deathmatches or practise mode. I dunno what it is. It's not being too tense or too relaxed. I just don't hold my crosshair as well as I should or swing and move as well as I should.
    Have you seen/experienced this before, if so what is causing that and do you have tips for it?

      You need to accept that you're going to lose some ranked, and play ranked with the sole focus of moving correctly in your fights.
      It can take weeks of focused conscious effort to train your subconscious.
      Rocket League, while a fascinating game, is not something I plan on releasing coaching content for in the future. The time investment to stay up-to-date on evolving strategies/techniques in a secondary esport is not feasible while I also work a fulltime job.

    I had an issue with my hs% and noticed that I was spraying too much. I then made a macro for my mouse that would allow me to only burst 2 shots at a time.
    I thought this would help me the most because I would only go for headshots. But I noticed that actually it’s not really the aim part that I was lacking rather than being too much of an easy target when spraying. When I started to only double tap I automatically started to strafe a lot more and faster and see the enemies bullets flying left and right to my head.

    I've got to mid plat almost purely by grinding mechanics and learning good angles/maps. And honestly when I played with some lower rated friends against other lower rated people (low gold and below) the most noticable thing was their movement. It was jarring at first because I was used to players with decent movement but once I realized how predictable their movement was winning gunfights was completely braindead. It didn't even matter if I had better aim because they simply couldn't hit me consistently.
