CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN THE SWORD & THE NECK - Palestine’s Resistance Fighter Ghassan Kanafani

  • Decades ago an interview between an Australian and a Palestinian was conducted in Beirut, Lebanon. It was 1970. What was quoted in the interview is still applicable today. Nothing has changed. The inequity of the struggle. The oppression of the Zionists. And the suffering of the Palestinian people. A more accurate statement would be that today’s world is only waking up to the suppression that has taken place since the early to mid-20th century by Israel towards the Palestinian people.
This video dissects the interview and reveals the political thoughts and moral positions of a major Free Palestine thinker and freedom fighter, Ghassan Kanafani. And how with his intellect managed to overcome the unjust narrative being peddled by his elitist "conventional media" interviewer.
**CORRECTION** There is a typo time stamp 02:18. Kanafani was assassinated in 1972 and not as per the video where it is shown that he died in 2006.

ERROR in the Video Text: Ghassan Kanafani was assassinated by the Mossad in late 1972 along with his teenage niece by an explosive device planted in his car. The text in the video mistakingly presents that Kanafani died in 2006.

Kanafani's eyes tell me that he had seen much in the way of loss, injustice and sorrow but, also in bravery courage and compassion for his people.
And the thing that he is really fighting for seems so simple... to be treated with respect, dignity and equality. Why is that such a hard thing to give? Giving those things to others makes one stronger not weaker. This world has always seemed backasswards to me...

I am not well informed on this issue. I've never understood the logic or "justice" in what took place in 48. It makes no sense. And then what do you expect the reaction to be? I know how I would react to be invaded and thrown out of my home. I would never forget or forgive that. How could you? That seems to be what started all this. Like I said I am not well informed, just offering gut reactions. I may be wrong but my understanding is that before western interference the region was relatively peaceful in terms of diverse cultures living together. If that is true I can't see how it will be that way again. How could it now? Things must change drastically. I don't see it in my lifetime.

I think you’ve just summed up the logic of humanity. Without the agendas and without any of the fanfare. The basics. And they ring true regardless of religion ethnicity or identity. The basics. How should anyone feel when their basics right are ripped away. The right to a home, to an identity and the right to resist. Thank you for your insight.

@@thekandarichronicles yes, and I am appalled at how the first nation people as well as black and Latinos have and are treated here. A story as old as time. I hope one day humanity learns we are one people on a tiny ball we must share. Thank you for your time.

I’m from Pakistan, Imran Khan is our leader and he said we will never recognise the Apartheid State.

Good for him, but again, look at the strife he has gone through when making such principled positions public.

@@thekandarichroniclesHere I would disagree. You are making too big an assumption of someone you don't know much about. Imran Khan, the son-in-law of James Goldsmith, is no supporter of Palestine. In fact he campaigned against Sadiq Khan and for his Zionist ex brother-in-law Zac Goldsmith. BTW his ex Jemima is raising his illegitimate daughter Tyrian White, whom he still refuses to acknowledge. And what he is going through is not because he stood for any principles but his corruption and much, much more. If there was any justice in this land, he should have been hanged by now and deservedly so. He is a cult leader. His corruption scandals are too many to list. He destroyed the economy of the country in 3 1/2 years from which it will probably never recover. The election his party won in 2018 was rigged in his favor (and the culprit army has admitted it) and he was removed the same way when he bit the hand that fed him. Read the book by his second wife Reham Khan if you want to be disgusted. One of the cases against him is he married his third wife -- a fake religious guru -- while she was still married. IKs goons beat up her first husband in court just a couple of weeks ago.
I could go on and on and on...
