    Got a question.Maerslantkering designed for rotate the extra water to the other new canal but how to manage it by not floating structure’s own costs a door or a panel using under it ?

      Thank you for your question. Could you clarify what you mean, perhaps? The Maeslant Barrier has 2 doors, each 210 m wide, 22 m high and 15 m deep. When the barrier closes, they fill with water and sink to the bottom within 2 hours. It operates with ball-and-socket joints, each of which are 10 m in diameter and weigh 680 tonnes.

    how about westerschelde? is it not protected by a storm surge construction?

      Because the port of Antwerp has to be reachable, and the delta works are not an international project we just have higher dikes on the Dutch side, the Belgians can take care of their own problems.
