- Today, we venture into the Hollywood Hills of California to explore a massive abandoned mansion owned by famous movie and TV show producer John Powers Middleton, son of the Philadelphia Phillies owner, John S. Middleton. Directing popular box office hits such as The Lego Movie, and the Bates Motel series, John Powers gained his millions, and in 2012 purchased the hilltop mansion for $4.75 million dollars. Through his years living inside, he hosted many renowned parties and events, featuring various influential stars such as Justin Beiber, the Kardashian Family, Leonardo de Caprio, Christian Bale, and many others. However, Powers’ listed the property in 2014 for $5.5 million dollars and moved out shortly after. Now it is listed for $7 million, but a problem still remains, it remains vacant, and unsold, constantly being overtaken by squatters. The problem got so bad in fact, that one illegal tenant barricaded himself inside the property after shooting someone with a shotgun, and held a standoff with the police and S.W.A.T. teams.

when anyone moves out of a fancy home like that then government rules should be in place that they have to pay for a full time security guard at the gate.....If a person has an expensive property then paying for full-time security guard at a booth at the front gate is pretty cheap in comparison to having it taken over by squatters and ruined.
