Better to use a high current heavy duty car battery charger or use a 300-500W ATX PC supply. Second, never run a glow plug continuously for more than half a minute or at most 1 minute. In fact even in cars they recommend never to cycle it continuously. The glow plugs hot portion outer shell will swell and the internal heater element gets damaged. Get some nichrome wire and making a heater element is better. Also the wood is flammable and the aluminum tape is the only thing between the wood and extremely hot glow plug( 1800+F)
