God damn. The pre 9/11 era of commercial aviation was golden.

Very cool video. It's amazing how recent 2001 was but I can't get over how old and outdated everything looks in this video. Especially in the operations center.

I have the DVD and this is one of the best all time classics from JustPlanes, my favorite for sure! It saddens me that Steptember 11th probably is the reason we no longer get see United Airlines in any new videos. I highly recomend this one to be added to anyones collection!

+Jefferson Davis You are absolutely right... more had been planned with United but 9/11 ended that... and probably any chance of filming any airline in the US

Wow ...a United Captain talking about 'friendly skies' in July 2001....how eerie and sad.

The United B777 DVD was my fist Just planes video. Still one of my favorite.

Have to agree, this is one of the best JP clips. A little bit of everything (pre, cockpit, cabin service, flight views, etc.) to keep it very interesting and easy to understand. Very nice... thank you.

+jasminderpinder Thank you! For something we did 15 years ago long before HD and the current 7 cameras it didn't come out all that bad hahaha...

I'll be making this flight pretty soon :D! Except they're using 767-300s now, which is too bad. I've always liked the ambiance of the 777-222. It always feels bigger than it actually is and when you land you feel like a giant is coming down from the sky.

Ahh, the good ol' times of my favorite airline! That one clip of the 727, makes me want Boeing to make an all new 727. I wish United brought back the tulip and battleship!

It was cool to see the classic 737 and a 727, the dark colors gave UA their worst look. Really nice pilots, thanks for the video

I liked the captain explaining what the different printouts/ controls meant. I love flying and often wondered what all those gadgets meant. would do anything to get a go at a flight simulator. cheers

Even when the plane is on the ground, visiting the cockpit is a pain in the ### with US airlines. All the terror events in the last decade have heavily affected the psyque of american carriers and their crews, not very friendly nowadays.

Didn't know Boeing 727s were still in passenger service at United Airlines in 2001. How long after that did United fly them?
