That sure is one sharp 88 series Binder! I love that it looks not only clean but correct too. The wheels are the right color, cab steps are OEM, there's not any goofy aftermarket stuff hanging on it (except maybe the mirrors, but they're OK). Everybody has his favorites, but I think the 50, 52, 5488 are the best looking tractors ever made. Too bad Case didn't keep them in production a couple more years until the Magnum came out... It's hard to imagine anyone outside of Racine would rather have a 2394 over this beauty!
I have to agree with many comments here. The 88s had great style and this beautiful machine shows the pride of the owner. Overall, I feel IH had better styling on their tractors than other OEMs.

I always liked White & International. Both were Sharp Tractors of their time period. White had Deere Beat when it came to Cabs & Cab Styling, also FAR Better Visibility than Deeres.
@@deerepower337🤣 hilarious, when you think of what this was competing against for deere its no comparison. Deere had the 4640 out competing with the 5288, the 5288 had more power, more gears and the transmissions lasted longer, were easier and cheaper to work on. the motor was IH’s famous Dt 466. Deeres were lacking in this time period
Ever since my uncle picked up his 5288 I've been absolutely in love with that tractor. Use it for everything from disking, cultivating to baling and pulling a 914 combine with it.
Nice looking 5288. I have a 5088 that looks as good. I farm with several IH tractors and equipment. I do have one green apple a 3155. Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy your videos.
Those where some of the the best tractors ever made. Nice cab, smooth riding, and that DT466 international engine was hard to beat. You changed the fluids in these every now and then and that was it. Don’t make the power new ones do but man you just put diesel in em and they ran and ran. Got a new Case and i never felt like the 8.3 Cummins had as much power as the DT466. But that’s just my opinion.
@@hordboy hardly, your better off with an 86 from what the mechanics that work with them say, same thing with a easier transmission and a shitty computer system that puts the whole tractor out of service if you do anything wrong
He’s right, still great tractor but our 1086 is easier to work on
@@joshbergellin5096 they’re not as bad as you think, we have a 5088 with around 9k hours and haven’t had a single problem the sentry unit even when we refreshed the rear end and transmission.

@@urmom2555 some of them will never have any problems but once it does have problems with it most people just get rid of them

I'd say that tractor is well taken care of.
I used to drive Case International 1056 four wheel drive tractor in England, I loved Spring andl fall season tilling up the land ready for seeding.

The 88 series is probably the prettiest ih tractor I've seen love watching your videos and keep up with the great work.
These were all around impressive tractors in their day. I never had one. But the neighbors had a huge pulltype JD combine they pulled with it quite impressively. And I remember pulling quite a cultivator. Had to be careful because the front wheels would lift off the ground in hard ground.
I spent a lot of time in one of those. Nice to see one again!

I sure live watching big 2wds do work, like cultivating, planting and discing, stuff usually reserved for the 4wd on the farm
Our biggest tractor was a 1975 1066 blackstrip, dynoed at 137, as it was delivered new, sold to a classmate that still has it after dad&I were done farming, and worked for him a could years, ge has a 5288, one sweetheart tractor
that is just a dang good looking machine
Ya we still use our 5488 MFD, 2 5288's and a 1066 to put our crop in. Pull a 10 bottom plow with the 54, a 42 ft 7200 hoe drill and run a 1682 combine. Love that tractor.

My dad's first "big" tractor 756 with the nearly bulletproof german diesel. Turned up to around 90hp. Its in its retirement years running a 15ft bush hog clipping pasture weeds.
Man I wish there was something half that nice on the market today. Not that I could afford it anyway. Just reminds you how classy and real things used to look. Thanks alot for the video.

Wow! I have not seen a 5288 in years. One of My dad’s tractors was a case international 595 open station tractor early 90’s model with ROPS.

I love our 5288 it mainly pulls a 18' Krause finish tool. So this video feels extremely familiar.
Had a 5088. Uncles had a 5288 cranked to the moon pulled a 9 shank ripper with it.
I have an old 784 international... I should send you some pics.. referbed it 5 years ago.

Great video! I’ve always thought I wanted a 52 or 5488. I’m a red guy, got a 6588, 806, 656, 450, M and C. 6588 pulls a Deere 750 drill, Howard paraplow, and IH 496 disk. 806 pulls IH 45 field cultivator, 800 cyclo planter, and does the chore work. 656 is the loader tractor, M pulls wagons, C is a toy, 450D is waiting for an overhaul.

Looks like a dry spring so far in your videos. Up here in the Red River Valley we got a much needed wet winter with tons of snow.
We have had a good amount of rain this spring. Everyone was sitting still last week waiting for it to dry out. Some corn has been planted but it stayed cool this week so the planters are waiting on some 70 degree days to go full speed ahead.
I love these tractors because they sound so cool 😎 🚜
My neighbor has one and I go out to watch and help him all the time

We had a 5088 until it caught on fire back in January of 2019 while my dad was picking corn. We still have a Case IH 7130, International 966, International 686, Ford 4000 and Kubota MX135.
What did u guys do with it after

I have a ih 5488 in cherry condition i use it to pull a John Deere 913 V-ripper/ sub soiler and pull a caseih 4500 vibra skank field cultivator very fun to drive I also own a ih 3288 , ih farmall 706 and drum roll the legendary super mta wide front end.

we have a International 1086 and we run it to plant, and deep chisel 18 inches in the ground on a 40 acre corn field
Very cool. The farm with the 5288 in this video has a 1086 as their planter tractor. You can see it briefly in the corner of this field waiting to get started. .
