      Thank you! Yes, some nicely marked fish in this clip, such variation, love the one with the blue spots on it's gill plate, have a lot more footage of the small spring creek fish, that almost look like cutthroat trout, very colourful for browns. Andrew

      Hi Charles, thank you. Definitely put it on the cards, this is all 'roadside' fishing in reality. The camper is the way to travel, I had to sell my beloved boat to buy it though, they are not cheap! Cheers, Andrew

      Hi Jason, thanks very much, I'd like to hope they are improving, this one took a few days to edit, moreso the wading through 15 hours of footage! I still think Wellington is one of the best kept secrets in the Fly Fishing World, great place, cheers. Andrew

    Awesome video as usual Andrew. I've followed your videos for a long time now and they just get better and better and in my opinion you should have way more subs. You've inspired me so with so many ideas over the years and it's improved me as a fisherman. Anyone who gives these videos a thumbs down needs their head looked at. Just pure jealousy. keep up the great work.
    Cheers Brian

    • @troutboynz
      @troutboynz  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Brian, thank you for the kind words, much appreciated and it's my pleasure! Yes, subscribers is a funny thing, TH-cam has changed the way the pay for monetized channels and it really stinks, there is basically nothing in it for a small player like me, but one day, maybe that will change. I'd need to hit a few million subscribers in a short time however! Regards, Andrew

    • @lurecrazyalba4868
      @lurecrazyalba4868 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome mate and thank you for the reply, One suggestion from me would be to get yourself on social media. You can share your videos to millions. Facebook and Instagram are a good start. I know social media isn't for everyone but millions use it everyday. It's free to setup a page on Facebook and you can dedicate it purely to your channel. Maybe discuss the equipment you use or review it and remember hash tagging # is your friend.
      Cheers Brian

    Well bugger me that ones going to take some beating. You were in my old stomping ground in a few of those scenes Andrew so it was even more special to see. You know that video is off the charts good and I know that Canterbury Fish and Game are going to be doing an exhibit at the Christchurch museum in the near future. That video would surely be something they might be interested in having as part of the display. I might be wrong but they would be nuts not to consider it.

    The only way someone in their right mind could thumbs down this video is either a fear of spiders at 15:25 or massive self loathing over their meaningless life. Great job guys! I definitely share this obsession.

    Wow Mr Harding!! Amazing footage in there, has a real cinematic feel to it, the whole thing a joy to watch.Such a great part of the world down there, you show cased things wonderfully. @troutboynz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Chris, cheers mate. It's lovely alright, didn't even scratch the surface though of the water available, each year we like to scope out at least 2 or 3 new waters and this year came up trumps. I think we probably landed in excess of 120+ fish each for the trip! Yes, still some clips to go, but can wait for a rainy day! Andrew

    Hey mate. Late night trout viewing session here... wondering what frame rate you filmed this in? 60? Looking at new cameras at the moment, hence question. It was the G9 you took the close ups with?
    It's going to be hard to top this one.

    • @troutboynz
      @troutboynz  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Always 1080 and 60fps mate, only because I can just bring a recording into the timeline and hit 'slo-mo which' reduces the speed to 50% automatically and it's super smooth slo-mo. I output in 30fps though, you can also output the final clip in 60fps and it gives a really clean, realistic and sharp look, some like it but it's a bit weird for me.

    • @tim3854
      @tim3854 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good info as always! I hear you on that last bit, like watching an LED tellie with the "clear motion" frame rate. I still prefer my old LCD!

      Nah, just edited that way to make him look good, I always out-fish him! Yeah, he broke his XP on the first day, but had a One Elite sitting unused he always brings so pulled that out, it's quite a nice rod... but it aint no Radian!

  • @Retro-collecting-Norway

    Love your videos man! Im curious: Im concidering buying a packraft myself, and I see you use them a lot. Have you tried actually fly fishing from them?

    • @troutboynz
      @troutboynz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Yes, fished from them a bit, not something I do often, but in the states it's quite common to fish from them on high altitude lakes. The big issue is a hook in it... being single chamber you'd need to patch fast, but would go down very slowly still and they are easy and quick to patch. They are fantastic boats, highly recommend getting one. Andrew

    stunning cinematography - Magic Pro ;)
    Cheers and tight lines to you and your sheep rescue squad :P
    Tom
    btw. what raft do you use? Happy with it?

    • @troutboynz
      @troutboynz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate, yes, that fish in the log jame I had a crack at but spooked it, it then came back on the feed so gave Dan a shot, he's an amazing angler to watch, very, very skilled in his presentation, he was well above the fish as you can see. Using the Alpacka Yukon Yak, love them, we probably used them 10 days out of 25, makes exploration so much easier and opens up many options when the weather turns, you don't notice it much in your usual pack. Great stuff Andrew-a bloody good watch--drone work is excellent--Mavic?

    • @troutboynz
      @troutboynz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Baz, yeah, the Mavic, it's sensational, like the P4 pro that its in ya pocket, holds steadier in the wind and has almost as good a camera!... Just 1080 60p is horrible and it can't do 4K in high frame rates, but 2.7k and 30fps is just strunning. Love it! Cheers, Andrew

    • @tim3854
      @tim3854 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scrolled down and saw this. Gotta ask, did you find a sweet spot for the Drift Ghost like that? My footage is very patchy, sometimes good, sometimes shocking. I use the high frame rate all the time now, seems to improve it noticeably. I search on the net but always end up turning to you for the proper insight lol

    • @troutboynz
      @troutboynz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      1080 at 60fps for sure Tim, much more options for editing and slo-mo, and just smoother. I thought your Ghost died a slow death under a car wheel? I'm keen to try Drift's new 4K Ghost!
