The speech that the AIs give at the end of this game gave Vinny and everybody in chat an existential crisis, it was a sight to behold
You could tell from reactions that this game actually fucked up at least a few people in chat for real. Though most were very joking.
The ending of MGS2 is beautiful. Back in the early 2000s it was just confusing to many but Kojima thought far enough ahead and made it brilliant in retrospect.
I was trying not to understand in order to prevent myself from having a panic attack.
Yeah, MGS always ahead of its time, some of these things even kind of happened, and if not, it was very similarly happenings.
Vinny's playthrough is first time I've seen Metal Gear Solid 2, so that part was insanely mind blowing considering when the game originally came out. The dialogue was super ahead of it's time, but man did it age well considering the stuff going on today!
I can't believe kojima killed off pliskin before arsenal and replaced him with this weird ass Snake guy. Smh when will pliskin finally get his recognition????????????????????

Notable personality traits:
*Cannot spend over two seconds still without yelling or screaming a completely incomprehensible sentence since he interrupts himself with random shouts and constant sounds that suggest he is experiencing both great strain and pain from the result of pulling, pulling, lifting and pushing several large objects, all while being beaten up and beaten off at the same time, but is actually sitting calmly strapped in his fighter jet*
*Also his voice echoes from everywhere and surprisingly gets even louder when he's flying far away in the distance... Which is the only reason you want him closer as he screams slightly quieter then*
*Finally he constantly stretches when he shows up as parts of whatever suit he is wearing flies off into the distance, during the final battle he keeps stretching and yelling despite the fact that each time he does so, his tentacle arms fly off one by one until the harness which was protecting him finally flies off allowing Raiden to land The killing blow*

And then turns out most of Snake’s dialogue is him repeating what somebody else said in a surprised tone, there’s a character who’s inches away from being called Anime Convention, you can get pissed on, and one character dies from having a bomb in her vagina. Also, memes, the DNA of the soul.

My favorite part of MGS2 is how Kojima thought it would be funny to give us water levels and escort missions...but he went a cut above the rest, and combined them together. GENIUIS KOJIMBO.

I always love how at the end of MGS 4 it's revealed that Ocelot was never being mind controlled by the arm, he was just a crazy man.
"Big Boss later revealed to Solid Snake that Liquid's "possession" of Ocelot was a planned ruse in order to fool the Patriots as means of lowering The Patriots' guard. Big Boss elaborated that Ocelot was able to use hypnosis and psychotherapy, drugs, and nanomachines to transplant Liquid's personality onto himself. Ocelot had removed the transplanted arm of Liquid because the so-called "possessions" during the Manhattan Incident had caused an imbalance to his psyche." He wasn't crazy he hypnotized himself.

It's not fair to have a good Solid Snake impersonation when David Hyter does the memes for you.
I just realized that Otacon most likely squeezed his hog to a photo of Sunny's unconscious mom.
Vinny, I just want you to know how hard my convention weekend was to try to please you. Quinton Flynn was at Anime Midwest, and I tried waiting in three different lines and in two panels to try and get a recording of him saying, "Colonel, I've done it. The hog has finally been squeezed." to send to you. The lines lasted too long and I always wound up at the cut off, and I skipped out on a panel I really wanted to go to.
But I tried, and though I failed, I made some friends from the Vinesauce community when I told them what I was trying to do. So, the effort was not completely in vain. Hopefully somebody will get him to confirm hog squeezing success to you.

If I enjoy the film, I'll usually watch it twice in a sitting. First is to absorb the story and atmosphere; second is to focus on scenery, camerawork, audio, and any foreshadowing I'm now aware of. But, that's really only the first time I watch a film. Also, "a bunch of times" implies at least three viewings to me, which is a bit strange.

The dialogue between Rose and Raiden is extra painful even for a Kojima game.
It’s hilarious, though. The actual worst is in Death Stranding. “Princess Beach” gave people cancer.
I remember being so amazed that you could shoot down the seagulls in the demo as a young kid... Most developers wouldn’t even consider a detail like that and the birds would be trash jpegs.
I love how Vamp's lover is suddenly killable after they tell her she isn't magic even though she had lived her life trying and failing to die up until that point.

I played the game on PC back then. On that version the cutscenes had borders on the top and bottom to make it more movielike I guess, or to make the game more 16:9 on 4:3 screens maybe?
Anyway, those borders were for some reason half transparent (also had other graphical bugs with the water for example). The border was also where raidens nethers were in some cutscenes. He had nothing at all down there, of course, but I saw it clear as day...
