Hell, Tony survived fighting a berserker-induced Bucky without his suit, and looked just about the same for wear as after he crash-landed in the US Midwest during winter.
Sometimes it's not about winning the battle, but at least surviving it.
This movie really humanized Jarvis. Shows that Tony doesn't think of him as just an assistant, or an AI, or a thing. He's his friend. It really adds weight to the scene in Ultron where Tony finds Jarvis' 'body' torn apart by Ultron.
Jarvis was named after his family butler. Makes it even better.

I think Tony was too afraid of losing or being betrayed by people, that’s why kept people at arms length. I don’t think he trusted many people. That’s also why he’s been known to go overboard on protecting those he does love.
I think that’s why he reacted so badly when he found out Cap didn’t tell him that it was his BFF, Bucky, that killed his parents. Tony was really considering Cap as a super close friend. Even though Tony blamed a lot of shit on Cap (Bucky, Peter’s death), Tony knew Steve is/was actually a very good person and that Steve would forgive him. We all do that, we’ll have a bad fight with family and say terrible things, but deep down we know our loved ones will forgive us. My older brother and I used to fight terribly when we were young, but no matter what, I still knew if I needed help, he’d have my back and I’d have his.

I can't believe how long it's been since these Iron Man movies came out. I remember liking them faaaaar more than these newer Marvel movies. I really miss these days of the super hero movies. There usually wasn't 15 movies in between something like this that you absolutely needed to watch to fully understand things. It was just Tony doing his thing and fighting a bad guy. Fun, straight to the point and hinting at a larger world, not requiring you experience it to understand Tony's story. Those were the days man.
Same. I can't believe we never got an Iron Man 4 or even 5. And its been almost 10 years since this movie came out. The MCU is honestly getting so watered down now, complicated and too meta. I miss simple stories like this movie.

Mark-42 possibly the worst and best armor due to how fragile and unprepared for combat it was, but also extremely rigid at the same time because of it being capable of taking a super heavy beating multiple times but still function well(Kind of)

It's been a while but from what I remember, it was because the trailers made it seem like the Mandarin was going to be this big bad ass and the reveal seemed to came out of no where and made him look like a second date Austin Powers rip off, it was jarring and It's probably a lot easier to handle if you have some idea it's coming beforehand.
You need to read the comics mandarin is an awesome villain for Tony I really hope your not basing your idea of manderine from this film

It's amazing that Tony smashed into the ground at probably 80-100 mph here and bounces through a forest and takes no damage, but Rhodey falls out of the sky and is paralyzed from the waist down
Tony flew at a decently low angle. Rhodey fell straight down while spinning in the air
You gotta remember an object falling down, increase its speed gradually, tony was flying forward (like a plane), so he didn't have any damage

Tony has plenty of times taken dives, falls, and has been thrown into bulidings and environments without so much as a flinch, but the PTSD from the New York invasion really messed him up. You can see that in the way he panicked before crashing. People can bash on this film for the lack of Iron Man, but this is a film about Tony Stark a man who was hiding BEHIND Iron Man as he tries to overcome his insecurities and fears to become THE Iron Man again.
Like he said, 'If you're nothing without the suit, then you shouldn't have it."
As I've told some friends who said this was the weakest of the trilogy, 'Character Development isn't just a one time thing y'know.'

So if you go from 70’s to temps in the 30’s it would be a cold, brisk transition even if it isn’t frigid in the traditional sense (below teens). Even still, he does have some fog coming off his breath, it’s just tough to see.
