It's been almost a year since I started learning Japanese. I missed my N5 exam because my listening skills were bad. Grammar and Vocab was okay. Good Luck :D p.s: Now I am going for JLPT N4. Next year July.

But some days ago I gain motivation again but as I started learning again duolingo arranged compulsory kanji practice which I was skipping till now. So I kinda lost motivation again. But now seeing your amazing video journey I guess I should restart again and this time I'm thinking of learning kanji and hiragana too and not just plain speaking. Anyways, Sensei Watashi, onegai continue this video series, it's kakoii with your sensei apart and kind of motivating too.

I learnt Hiragana and Katakana in about 2 weeks and started learning Kanji from Jan 13 this year, learnt around 300 Kanji and 600 vocabulary till now. Although Kanji might feel tough, but even if you learn 3 Kanji per day, you can learn all Kanji in 2 years. The satisfaction you get when you start understanding Anime without subtitles or when you notice wrongly translated English subtitles is unparalleled for me as a Anime fan. Fun fact China is called Chugoku because in Japanese its made up of two kanji "chu" middle + "koku" country, so China = Middle country Doitsu = Germany, because German is called Deutsch in German which is pronounced as Doishe Beikoku = USA/America is called "Bei" + "koku" = Rice Country (which I think is funny as Japanese eat more rice than Americans)
Man...I have been watching anime since 2017 and tbh I know many words meaning and can form a sentence while speaking but I haven't started learning Japanese writings(Hiragana and Katakana).

7:04 I disagree with that line of thought. We have already seen what happens when TH-camrs turn to teaching on YT. They inevitably prioritize factors like engagement, audience retention & entertainment over actual articulation, understandability and detailed explanation. There is also the matter of how the audience associates you and identity and all that Jazz stuff. If you are going to learn it, do it the right way with all the seriousness and resolve and from the right people. I think it's wise that you separate the two.
