This is a very interesting process. Thanks for showing all the steps and details including all of your ups and downs. My building buddy and I joke about all of the "challenges" we run into.
What a great technique Danny, messy, but great. I wonder if you pulled a guitar strip covered in resin through first to line the tube:? Tip: Wear three pairs of cloths then you can peel a pair off and you nice and clearn again for the next piece
I wonder if pulling the guitar string through with it folded in half so that you didn’t actually have an end that could possibly catch and poke through the silicone tube would be better? Also, can you twist the line as you pull it through? From George
It is possible, but i want to try a more consistent thickness of tow first. Seperating the wider tow is like trying to portion pure wool, the strands are not continuous.
I think Jobe must have been one of your ancestors. Great content and interesting concept.

Glad it was helpful!
The challenges are the fun bits, we must be a bit bonkers eh?
Thanks for sharing the process! Interesting technique that bends to many applications!
It does make lots of things possible
Very interesting, Danny. I'm looking forward to the next instalment to see how it all comes together 😊
You and me both!
Nice job Danny. It certainly looks like the larger tube is the way to go.
Thanks Ben, that rudder outline weighs 0.6g
brilliant technique -- I must find an area in my 1/4 scale model where I can use it.
Go for it!

Love the glove idea :) yeah its a lot of faff, but the 1.5mm rudder outline is fairly rigid and only .6g

Both worth trying, thanks. Still waiting for the 1k carbon tow
I wonder whether warming the resin would make it flow into any voids better ?

neat, seems like a lot of mucking around
Lol yeah it is, but its very strong and very light
