These changes include easing entry barriers, relaxing compliance requirements, and redefining roles, particularly for research analysts. As SEBI aims to expand the pool of registered advisors and analysts, Debashis Basu delves into whether these changes will truly benefit investors or lead to unintended consequences. Tune in to understand the impact of these proposals on the investment advisory landscape in India.

SEBI doesn’t understand what it takes to build an IA business. With these kind of regulations I don’t think there can be startups in this space.

I would think that there would be a new Ad campaign 'SEBI Kehta Hai" similar to 'RBI Kehta hai' to tell investors that they should go through IA & RA's and not thru' influencers on Social Media. Would celebrities (like Amitabh Bachan etc) volunteer? I wonder...

Nobody recognises or is ready to pay for IA, it is much sensible to do broking/trading/sales as a professional rather than being an IA

SEBI and it's chief are hell bent on dragging down the Indian stock and mutual fund market.

SEBI is like a doctor who treats a patient without any diagnosis

With the level of influence social media captured in finance space, its unlikely this change will help neither RAs nor IAs

Is SEBI capable of anything rational, sensible, professional?
