This is wonderful. I have to edit my report every month because of the pivot table change; no more of that anymore! I'll be using this technique. Thank you.
No wonder you are so cool. 😂 My background is accounting, and love to study these excel skills. I hope I can find a chance to go over all your teaching. Thanks again.
Very clear video. When I use =getpivotdata( to refer to the target cell in a pivot table which is on another sheet of the same excel file. However it only shows the first two syntax i.e., field and pivot table. There are no subsequent [field1, item1], [field2, item2] for me to work with. How to understand this? thanks.
thanks for this video, it works with a simple Pivot Table, however, it doesn't work with the data model based pivot tables. Do you have any idea how to apply same logic to this kind of pivot tables ? thanks again !

Great vid! But still wondering what's use case for GETPIVOTDATA? Since i can just create another pivot table or calculated field.
hi. The use case is demonstrated in the video. If you rearrange pivot fields the formulas break. GETPIVOTDATA prevents that.
@@cellmatestrainingThanks. I must have skipped a few seconds where I missed it.
Great
