I have half siblings which i rarely see. Like once every three years and 3 i havent met. My friends either say that they love their siblings and i am missing out or say that i am so lucky that i dont have siblings. They assume that i get a lot more stuff than them which is true but that is only because they spend little time with me. I may have more pocket money but i dont have what they have. A proper family. I always have so much pressure to be perfect at school which generally makes my results worse. People also dont believe i have issues at home they think my life is perfect. If they lived the same life they would realise how stressful and lonely it is. The only time i get attention is at dinner when i want to eat in silence and i have an overload as i am not used to it. I dont get why people think our life is perfect.
As an only child really thank you for accepting the fact that we are still people and that we’re not the “lucky” ones. Although being an only child comes with some perks we still get disadvantages!! 😢❤

As an only child, I was left alone since I was 4, and one time when I was seven, I was lying on the couch and the House alarm went off. I didn’t know what it was, but all I knew was something was wrong so I ran out the front door with only my favorite stuffed animal that I was sitting with. My neighbors called the cops. Turned out the guy who got it the house was a robber, he stole all our stuff, and lit the house on fire. My parents didn’t get home for 3 more hours. I have separation anxiety because of it.

I was told so much as a child that I was lucky that I couldn’t stand it and now I can’t have anything that makes me look lucky. I used to pretend to have siblings and told people I did. As an only child I have allot of respect for older siblings, I don't ever want to have a little sibling now that I'm older. My friends always asked me how lucky it was to be the only child and I always tell them to appreciate their siblings as they are there to support you, protect you and maybe sometimes fight or argue but they never make you feel alone. This video just made my day somehow :)

You could be the most forgiving and selfless person but being unfairly treated by your own parents could still hurt like hell. Also, there is an option that you are just straight up exaggerating your story out of petty jealousy.

Im sorry but I myself wishes I was an only child cuz Im the middle oldest child of 3 siblings and I really just want time for myself but I never get that. Im always stressed because of my school and my family. My parents almost never talk to me and never give me any attention. I get a lot of pressure whenever I do get attention like when it comes to grades I’m always expected by my parents to have high grades whenever I am always babysitting my little siblings and have no time for myself. I also get very annoyed of my family sometimes but whenever I’m home alone I get really happy because of the silence.

As an only child, I feel like every single thing I do has to be pressured. My grades: have to get a B or higher, parents always comparing you to other kids, always being alone, feel like your in everything by yourself, too much attention that it gets to the point where it’s just traumatic and pressured. My mom truly loves me and wants me to be happy but at the same time I just wish I had a sibling. If your a kid rn, you understand that it feels better to talk about your personal problems to someone who is closer to your age and knows what you mean. Unfortunately, as an only child, I can’t have a chance at that type of thing. I want someone to talk to about my problems and I just don’t have anyone I trust that much other than my mom and she doesn’t understand how I feel. Literally everyone tells me “Oh My Gosh your so lucky you don’t have a sibling like they are the worst!”, when as an only child, my one wish is to have a sibling who will always be there for me as much as they don’t seem like it. As long as they are nice people, family will always be there for you through the ups and downs….

All my friends have siblings and literally all my friends say to me’ oh your so lucky you don’t have sibling they are so annoying’ but they don’t understand. They think we get whatever we want whenever but we are always alone we are always a disappointment no matter how hard we try there is still something wrong and you have nobody to come to with advice except your parents which can be awkward sometimes for kids who would rather talk to kids their age. Lots of only child’s then grow up with a fear of public speaking and talking to new people or being alone. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

This is the perks of being the only child : - Parents always being overprotective since we’re the “only one.” - Always sticking to our phones when we get home because there’s no other things to do sometimes. - Being our parents therapist whenever something goes wrong with financial issues or arguments. - Going to be alone at some point in life when our parents will be gone. - Always trying to be the best and good at anything because of the pressure. Even if they’re not forcing us, we know they have silent expectations. - It’s going to be the parents who win all fights since your not getting defended or no one’s on your side. Trust me, with or without siblings there are still difficulties. We just wanted to be understood. There’s advantages and weaknesses which makes us who we are :)
I first thought "you don't know what it's like to have siblings" but then I thought "but I love them." Even though my little brother(he's 4) is yelling a lot and he's really annoying and messy I still love him. And my little sister(she's 9) gets mad all the time and is messy and annoying I still love her. And my older sister(she's 12 and I'm 10) beats me up and says mean stuff to me and is rude to me I still love her. But I went through so much trauma and chaos because of having siblings and It made it worse to have ADHD and anxiety and insommnia and autism during it. And my mom and dad being divorced and me usually never seeing my dad and my mom being always busy I still love them. I would have been better off as an only child. But we'll I don't make those decisions.

As an older sibling, I can tell you the pressure is the same but the attention and alone time are like a dream to me. I am in class 11th.Yesterday I was talking to some girls and they were all talking about their younger brothers and the our previous teachers relations with their siblings in class. Mostly I feel lonely and think I missed out alot of fun I could have in my childhood. Literally writing down this comment I am feeling the urge to cry. A good friend, a age mate is all you need to share your stress and sadness. Life could have Been way different for me otherwise. Actually for me,being an only child is great 👍🏻. Yeah the pressure is much but I still like the attention my parents give me because half of the time I'm doing my homework or studying for tests and all. Because of my schedule I do have that attention-seeking trait, I don't really mind being alone because I focus on my studies and hobbies more. I know it's not the same for everyone but I LOVE being an only child.

Also I understand mental health but this is not some mental health thing this is just someone who wants to make everything seem sad. This is why so many people are depressed because people like you make everything seem sad so you can make others sad so then you have a way to "vent" with others but it's just dumb and stupid your lucky your alive don't go complaining about how you don't have a sibling

My friends always asked me how lucky it was to be the only child and I always tell them to appreciate their siblings as they are there to support you, protect you and maybe sometimes fight or argue but they never make you feel alone. This video just made my day somehow :)
my sibling gets alll the attention he gets everything for his birthday my parents are always proud of him even if he’s bad at everything he does but for me i get litteraly 2% of the attention that my brother has , my parents don’t get me anything for my birthday cause they spent all they had for my brother and even if I get a 90% on an exam, they won’t stop saying: u could do better
My brother only talks to me when he wants to get me problems or when he needs me, i wish i had stayed the only child

@@FloppagworlVery sorry for your situation. In your case, your parents are the root of the problems. No father or mother should ever practice favoritism if they don’t want their kids fighting. You could be the most forgiving and selfless person but being unfairly treated by your own parents could still hurt like hell. Also, there is an option that you are just straight up exaggerating your story out of petty jealousy.

Im sorry but I myself wishes I was an only child cuz Im the middle oldest child of 3 siblings and I really just want time for myself but I never get that. Im always stressed because of my school and my family. My parents almost never talk to me and never give me any attention. I get a lot of pressure whenever I do get attention like when it comes to grades I’m always expected by my parents to have high grades whenever I am always babysitting my little siblings and have no time for myself. I also get very annoyed of my family sometimes but whenever I’m home alone I get really happy because of the silence.

As an only child, I feel like every single thing I do has to be pressured. My grades: have to get a B or higher, parents always comparing you to other kids, always being alone, feel like your in everything by yourself, too much attention that it gets to the point where it’s just traumatic and pressured. My mom truly loves me and wants me to be happy but at the same time I just wish I had a sibling. If your a kid rn, you understand that it feels better to talk about your personal problems to someone who is closer to your age and knows what you mean. Unfortunately, as an only child, I can’t have a chance at that type of thing. I want someone to talk to about my problems and I just don’t have anyone I trust that much other than my mom and she doesn’t understand how I feel. Literally everyone tells me “Oh My Gosh your so lucky you don’t have a sibling like they are the worst!”, when as an only child, my one wish is to have a sibling who will always be there for me as much as they don’t seem like it. As long as they are nice people, family will always be there for you through the ups and downs….
I'm greatful for my 3 siblings, I'd feel lonely without them, they're like my bestfriends and they are and I started crying just looking at this video.
All my friends have siblings and literally all my friends say to me’ oh your so lucky you don’t have sibling they are so annoying’ but they don’t understand. They think we get whatever we want whenever but we are always alone we are always a disappointment no matter how hard we try there is still something wrong and you have nobody to come to with advice except your parents which can be awkward sometimes for kids who would rather talk to kids their age. Lots of only child’s then grow up with a fear of public speaking and talking to new people or being alone.
It’s not all it’s cracked up to be.
I just realized that my parents are a great parents bc they don't put much pressure on me and always supporting me even tho I have bad grades they are proud of me no matter what even tho I'm not on the honor when it's 1st grading
This is the perks of being the only child :
- Parents always being overprotective since we’re the “only one.”
- Always sticking to our phones when we get home because there’s no other things to do sometimes.
- Being our parents therapist whenever something goes wrong with financial issues or arguments.
- Going to be alone at some point in life when our parents will be gone.
- Always trying to be the best and good at anything because of the pressure. Even if they’re not forcing us, we know they have silent expectations.
- It’s going to be the parents who win all fights since your not getting defended or no one’s on your side.
Trust me, with or without siblings there are still difficulties. We just wanted to be understood. There’s advantages and weaknesses which makes us who we are :)
I first thought "you don't know what it's like to have siblings" but then I thought "but I love them." Even though my little brother(he's 4) is yelling a lot and he's really annoying and messy I still love him. And my little sister(she's 9) gets mad all the time and is messy and annoying I still love her. And my older sister(she's 12 and I'm 10) beats me up and says mean stuff to me and is rude to me I still love her. But I went through so much trauma and chaos because of having siblings and It made it worse to have ADHD and anxiety and insommnia and autism during it. And my mom and dad being divorced and me usually never seeing my dad and my mom being always busy I still love them. I would have been better off as an only child. But we'll I don't make those decisions.

As an older sibling, I can tell you the pressure is the same but the attention and alone time are like a dream to me. I wish I got to be the only one home when my parents are out, I wish I didn't have to share everything with my sister, I wish she gave me space and I wish my parents paid as much attention to me as they do to my sister.

I've been told so many times "give it to your brother/sister, you're the eldest" "bottle it up, you're the eldest." "You have it lucky, you're the eldest" "you should be ready to sacrifice your happiness for your siblings, you're the eldest" "you should be more responsible, you're the eldest" "you need to be the best at everything, to set a good benchmark for your siblings. A moment of rest? Forget it" "you're the eldest, so it's your responsibility to be there for your siblings" "you're the eldest, so it's your responsibility to be there for your parents"

I can't even begin to explain how many times I have wanted to kms, but couldn't, because my family would crumble without me. I couldn't, because my sister needed me. Because my mom needed me. How does it matter that I'm sick of life and getting out of bed is a pain and I have no friends or hobbies and want to die? My family needs me. I have to take care of them. I'm the older sibling, it's my job. Who am I if I'm not the best at everything? What am I if I'm not useful?
Seriously, I love my sister. I'm not trying to say that I want to be an only child, or that they have it easier. I'm just saying that only children and elder siblings have a lot in common. The pressure is too much sometimes.

I can relate to the too much attention and the everyone wishing they were only children too, but my parents don’t leave all that often and arent all that bad about grades. I am in class 11th.Yesterday I was talking to some girls and they were all talking about their younger brothers and the our previous teachers relations with their siblings in class. Mostly I feel lonely and think I missed out alot of fun I could have in my childhood. Literally writing down this comment I am feeling the urge to cry. A good friend, a age mate is all you need to share your stress and sadness. Life could have Been way different for me otherwise. I am not saying that I am not loved at home, but I am just lonely mostly. My heart craves what it could never get...
Just because I had nothing else to do, I just kept studying all the time. Again, studying isn't bad, but it must not be your personality. Result is I topped my school in grade 10, and now I am also the headgirl of my school.
But, a part of my heart feels lonely, and it hurts...

Actually for me,being an only child is great 👍🏻. Yeah the pressure is much but I still like the attention my parents give me because half of the time I'm doing my homework or studying for tests and all. Because of my schedule I do have that attention-seeking trait, I don't really mind being alone because I focus on my studies and hobbies more. I know it's not the same for everyone but I LOVE being an only child.
Being an only child is NOT easy like everyone says. People only think "oh you dont have sublings so lucky" or "you always have attention?" But no. Its all your parents expectations crashing on you, they only focus on you, they r overprotective and ur the one who has to withhold the family together all by yourself.
