  • If you love Italian Switchblades or Latama, then you are bound to love this! Latama is the main name in Italian switchblade importation but they have a new project to share with us today. This is the next evolution of the Italian switchblade! Walt Halucha, the owner of Latama sat down with me to discuss Latama's new switchblade, a knife that deploys by means of an articulating scale. The result is the original opening mechanism of the Italian switchblade, but made easier to deploy with only a simple pinching motion of the hand!
Keep an eye out for the next batch here:

Walt looks good. He lost a lot of weight too. I’m a sucker for his Walt’s Classic Stilettos line. Beautiful!

While I'm normally more of a flipper and liner lock kind of guy when it comes to what I actually carry in my pocket, switchblades fascinate me and this blade is just beautiful both in design and appearance, which I expect no less from a maker of switchblades that's been around since the beginning. I would love to go to a blade show one day.
I'm not really a gun guy because due to disabilities I twitch so I don't trust myself with a firearm so I've always been more interested in blades (starting with knives and swords when I was a little kid) so I've just never been interested in guns and gun shows sometimes have knives as well, but going to a dedicated blade show would be ideal.

Very beautiful blades, as always the the italian try to be luxury goods, but they are all 440c it looks, for 500 bucks there would be a magnacut blade available as well. Funny thing with the finger nails came the movie cliche to my mind of the red light district, the price would be suitable therefore too.

I am also frustrated with the poor quality steel often used.

Most important comment. As mentioned, they're more novelty items for most folks and this means they're not made to the same blade spec as smth people are expecting folks to use.

The knife looks very nice. But for defense purposes, it appears as if it could accidentally close on the hand in a defense situation.
