I really like the amount and application of lume on this dial. Proportions sound great. Kudos to Farer for original designs, transparency on movements and a 5 years warranty.
For example. At 9:21 in the video It's 10pm local time on the normal dial. And the inner dial lines up 22 with Los Angeles on the outer dial. It also lines up 6 with London (which is usually true except right now where our daylight savings time has changed and theirs hasn't).
Lol it’s almost exactly like a GMT showing all time zones not just one GMT hand. The hour hand typically jumps on world timers. Let’s say you’re in NY and it’s 12 noon, but your watch has NY at 10am. Jump your hour hand backwards to 10AM, then hack the minutes forward 2 hours. The Worldtimer is “pegged” to the minute hand. Now you can see what time it is in every time zone.
Whilst I did eventually sell my Markham (damn my failing eyes) these Farers remain to this day, some of the best of their kind. I do love that new green one too. Damnit. Also, bloody hell you’re getting funnier all the time. Great stuff mate.
It's worth mentioning I guess that this is a modified *caller* GMT movement, meaning the 24-hour ring jumps in hour increments and not the local hour hand. Whether or not that still counts as being a "true" worldtimer is in the eye of the beholder, but I would've been beyond shocked if this had a jumping local hour hand at this price point
Another really good well written video. You’re right, it’s not always easy to read and I tried reading it in the dark with the lume and it’s a problem but it does what I want it to do and is just a bit more unusual from a boring old GMT. The daylight savings issue? At least that’ll be resolved by 3/31.
This Farer hits all the design ques very well, but I am still partial to the Fredrique Constant Worldtimer. However, every time I think about buying a Worldtimer, I say "hey, you have a Casio AW-1200 Worldtimer which does this so much better". And I buy something completely different or save my money.
I agree that legibility is an issue with some analogue watches for some complications (this one for example). Maybe it's just because I'm old enough to have learned to tell time on analogue clocks before digital but I still find my brain processes the time more quickly with a quick glance at a good clear analogue dial. So Gshocks and Garmins are not my ultimate tool watches. If the job is telling time.
3:39 @YoureTerrific You know what would be a real horological accomplishment - a mechanical world time movement that accounts for all time zones with an extra half hour 😜.. I’d love to see someone try that!
Once again great video. As you mentioned I think this is one of the better world time executions. I typically only like world times when there is a fancy globe drawn on it like the Aqua Terra, so this one fits the bill.
I rarely travel abroad or need to know the time anywhere outside of my country. Also I have woeful eyesight, and yet, gosh,I want one of these. I feel Evan has a great passive sales pitch!
Am I right to understand that the map is locked to the 24 hour wheel? So 1 o'clock always aligns with the same locations on the map? I love this watch for the most part but think that would irrationally annoy me. Feels like the map should move with the bezel.
Don't you think the date window messed up the dial? It's just extra complexity for a world time watch, which is already pretty busy. I reckon leaving it out would've made the watch look cleaner and simpler.
Noooooo, your videos are too good, Big Deal Evan! The model you reviewed is now sold out (as I was about to purchase it). Can you please ask Farer to make more? Again @YoureTerrific
agreed that the fact that all these watchers are wrong from March to November is irritating. I wish there was a watch face complication that accounted for daylight savings time. Maybe if the US cities were on another separate ring that turned independent of the international cities.
Why did they not move the inner 24 hour ring outwards till it was adjacent to the outer city-chapter ring, making city times easier to read ? So there would be room to make the 24 hour numerals bigger too - and a 42 mm dial to make the city names bigger. I would set the city I want to track at the 6 o'clock position, so easy to read the name.
On the contrary, I would expect a fancy bracelet for $170! Also, and I may just be really stupid, but even after hearing your explanation, I still don’t understand how to read this watch lol!
Honestly, I like more of Farer's designs than Christopher Ward designs. I still own a CW and don't own a Farer. Can only own one British brand, and CW got me first. Sorry, Farer. Maybe when I sell my CW.
Nice watch. But the daylight savings issue is a fatal flaw of worldtimers for me. I’ll stick with my phone for the world timer function and save many many dollars (that I will spend on other watches).
For me, I would never need to see more than 2 time zones on my wrist. I prefer legibility. If I need more time zones I’ll use my phone (smart pocket watch).
Farer have been killing it recently
Some brands go far, others Farer...

“I’m kind of a big deal” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Good looking watch. Price isn't bad either.
I still don’t understand how the world time bit works. I am a moron and don’t deserve this watch or complication.
The 24 hour number on the inner ring corresponds to the current hour in the cities listed on the outer chapter ring.
For example. At 9:21 in the video
It's 10pm local time on the normal dial. And the inner dial lines up 22 with Los Angeles on the outer dial. It also lines up 6 with London (which is usually true except right now where our daylight savings time has changed and theirs hasn't).

There are so many more rich people that wear patek worldtimers and have no idea.
I disagree. Morons don’t understand their limitations. Thus, you’re far from being a moron and closer to being a wise man 😉
I think you're great and I want you!! Lol. Love your self deprecating humor and fantastically in depth reviews of watches!!
You fking kill me Evan! I come for the watches and stay for the humor!
will definately start adding "I'm kinda a big deal" into my everyday conversations
Is the "Ill never tell" nod to Community?
Nod to lots of things. And I'm always thinking about Community.
@@YoureTerrificI’ll allow it
I hope to see the green dial in person at WindUp this year in SF. Are you coming down again?
We aren't attending WindUp San Francisco this year. However, we will still be at Chicago and New York, along with some Intersect shows.
I was unaware of existance of this kind of watches. 😳
It’s fantastic!!!!
I honestly think Farer will be going places as a brand if they can keep this up...
Came for the watch, stayed for the humor
Loving your writing; as always.
Where is it?
Damn this channel! I watch and all of a sudden I want to part with money I don't have 😂❤.
Seeing „Bienne“ on the edge of this dial just makes me happy 🙌🏻😊
Whilst I did eventually sell my Markham (damn my failing eyes) these Farers remain to this day, some of the best of their kind. I do love that new green one too. Damnit.
Also, bloody hell you’re getting funnier all the time. Great stuff mate.
love the use of lume. An additional outlet for artistry
But did you buy one?
Got mine about a week ago and I’m loving it😊

I'm glad I got my hands on a 36mm GMT Kano (#99) as they're sold out now.

“The GDMF-ing daylight savings time!”….. LOL, YES you nailed it!
I do nothing, I go nowhere. I like that watch. I could be the coolest dude waiting for the rotisserie chickens to come out as if I weren't already.
I’m curious… how do you feel about daylight savings time?
So near yet so farer.. love from India !
Is there a GMT watch that can handle India's half hour difference between all other timezones?
Casio G-SHOCK
They don't make them with the half hours because they can't afford them
Tissot Heritage Navigator has IST where it should be at half an hour offset
Pretty cool on the bracelet. Also love the Lume.
This Farer hits all the design ques very well, but I am still partial to the Fredrique Constant Worldtimer.

What is their point in marking "Bienne" as a Timezone? Omega does this because their HQ is in Bienne (aka. Biel) - why Farer?
That’s where the watches are made.
Am I right to understand that the map is locked to the 24 hour wheel? So 1 o'clock always aligns with the same locations on the map?
I love this watch for the most part but think that would irrationally annoy me.
Feels like the map should move with the bezel.
Does the city disc also move with the 24h time? Or is it stationary?
It's stationary. Once aligned with the 24-hour disc, it stays still whilst the 24-hour scale rotates and displays the correct time for the cities.
India is unique and blessed ❤
City Bezel needs "Gamehendge", i bet Farer would do that

Nice watch
Farer..out! Noice watch. Aussies thumbs up 👍
I like it, especially the green foxe
Elliot Havok is a world timer for $80 insane value for money!!
We (UK) are at end of month moving our clocks 1 hour forward so we can have 1 hours less rain
9.1/10 .. it would be 9.6/10 with a great bracelet.
Noooooo, your videos are too good, Big Deal Evan! The model you reviewed is now sold out (as I was about to purchase it). Can you please ask Farer to make more? Again @YoureTerrific
no, YOU're terrific!
I really like this watch
I have a Orient Star WZ0051JC world timer. Love it and got it before they seemed to spike in price. $400 on eBay.
I have never wanted a watch more…
agreed that the fact that all these watchers are wrong from March to November is irritating. I wish there was a watch face complication that accounted for daylight savings time. Maybe if the US cities were on another separate ring that turned independent of the international cities.
Great video!! ...but have to say my 1016 has gears and springs and is definitely a "Tool" watch :)
Usability is an academic question in this case.

Hey Big Deal, have you looked at the new Citizen and Bulova GMTs?
Yep. The Citizen Promaster GMT is likely my next video.
We may like extra vowels, at least we can say aluminium correctly 😂😂
The creator of the name aluminum used aluminum first and was British 😂

Have the FC Highlife WT. Single Crown, with rubber strap and SS bracelet. I like it. And found one from a friend in mint cond for about 2100.
It is good looking too.
It's annoying that the seconds hand has a big ass arrow tip at the end.
Butterfly clasp 😮

Beautiful, apart from the date.
It destroys the symmetry.
My wrist is 7 inches, wonder how it would look on me.

Can you ask Farer to bump the Discovery 36mm to 100 WR please.
I guess you mean automatic world timer not available under 3k coz you can get a better world time in just 25 bucks. Casio Royale
Awesome fkin watch. I want it.
This intro song... Every watch youtuber uses it. Why?
Probably cuz a lot of TH-camrs choose from the same handful of collections of royalty free music

I dont presume this is a cosc certified movement. do we know what grade Sellitta it is - elabore or top grade?
We use an Elaboré grade SW330-1 that Sellita modified especially for us with the 24-hour disc, as well as upgrading the mainspring.

The vowels aren’t extra, they weren’t added. American English is lesser.

Casio has lots of world time watches too, with daylight saving times and don't cost a kidney.
That would be more of a tool watch but this is a piece of jewelry
