Like the saying goes, "it's not what ya know, it's who you know" couldn't be more true when it comes to equipment. We have a close JD dealer, but have had issues there, so I run all vermeer hay equipment. That salesman actually showed up in my yard one afternoon, asked about our operation and if we had ever considered getting rid of our tub grinder and feed truck and running a processor/grain tank setup. I had never even heard of one up till that point. 3 months later, I sold two pieces of equipment and bought one that I still have to this day. One of my best all time investments. The salesman made that happen. 1.5 years later he sold us an entire new set of vermeer hay equipment and totally changed the way we hay, not only in cost, but in time. The JD dealer hasn't been on the property since 2006, and interactions since then have been sour on and off. To make a story short, they don't care. Glad you've got a good servicing dealer. Regardless of the color. They will make or break a person in this business.

I can't wait to get going this gives me a lot of motivation im working out on a swather deal now and we are in business. Ive found 2 great salesman from the same dealer willing to work with me and take it and run

A flail shredder was a game changer for us in stalks. I used to have a lot of knotter problems and that solved most of them. It also helped make better looking bales in corn and milo. I agree with you about Livingston, great people.

I've looked at them, but I dont do enough fall crops corn/milo to justify one, this year as just an odd year. Honestly unless I get a full time employee who can run hay equipment or feed equipment I need to just stick to my own stuff in the fall

Dealer support is huge! That is one of the main things I consider when purchasing new equipment. I hope your salesman's situation gets better!!!
