Lakes are no more dangerous than the sea, unfortunately, people die doing all kinds of stuff, even walking to the shops. If you wrap yourself up in cotton wool then life becomes not worth living.
Where I go lake swimming, there is a sign that says don't go past the ropes. Also a bunch of kids and adults go swim w/o life jackets unless we are boating
On 21 August 1986, a limnic eruption at Lake Nyos in northwestern Cameroon killed 1,746 people and 3,500 livestock.[1] The eruption triggered the sudden release of about 100,000-300,000 tons (1.6 million tons, according to some sources[who?]) of carbon dioxide (CO2).[2][3] The gas cloud initially rose at nearly 100 kilometres per hour (62 mph; 28 m/s) and then, being heavier than air, descended onto nearby villages, suffocating people and livestock within 25 kilometres (16 mi) of the lake.[4][5] A degassing system has since been installed at the lake, with the aim of reducing the concentration of CO2 in the waters and therefore the risk of further eruptions. Along with the Lake Monoun disaster two years earlier, it is one of only two recorded limnic eruptions in history.[6] Eruption and gas release
Lakeweed is very dangerous. You will get tangled in there and get exhausted. I learned it in a hard way. Almost die.

2 days ago I swam 1 mile across my local reservoir after drinking 4 beers in the pub, the key is to put your cig out first.
It’s really hard to swim in the lake than swimming in the ocean. It’s because lake are freshwater and doesn’t help you float not like in the ocean.

Yeah like I can swim I don’t need a freaking life jacket to swim in some lake water lol but I do wear a life jacket on the boat because it’s the law
