Good luck with that. I owned a w123 240D for a few months 20 years ago ( £300 with 5 months MOT and some road tax ). Very nice, like this video, on a steady driving road, or cruising on a motorway. But heartstoppingly slow pulling out of junctions, feeding into briskly moving traffic...., also very heavy and unwieldy on a windy road. All this by the standards of traffic 20 years ago.
@andrewpreston4127 hmm I don't think it's that bad. Went to a 300km roadtrip with a 200d of my buddys dad. It's barely fast enough to not be a roadblock but it's alright. And in northern Germany there isn't much elevation to worry about.

Go for it! I'm looking into getting a 280SE 4 door by the time I turn 18. I say hell yeah to that, brother.
